I'm with you, I've trained plenty in commercial gyms in my teens & 20s, But as I've gotten older I love the peace & convenience of training at home, And similar to you the core of my workout is basic strength calisthenics, supplemented with a few specialized exercises with resistance bands & free weights, My motto is be stronger than you look, Practical strength is the key.

I can't recommend the Primitive Archer Forum enough for learning how to make your own high performance bows exactly tailored to you and out of all natural materials. Guys of all ages and from all corners of the world come together to keep this ancient craft alive and push it to its limits. Everyone's got their own thing. Some guys do it all by feel whereas you have engineers designing bows around the fact that wood, horn, sinew and other natural materials are all inherently heterogeneous.
Followed because of this video. TH-cam is full of bodybuilding, but it's never about building a real body with all it's features. I know bodybuilders that bench 140kg that can't even win an arm wrestling battle of people who never did suchs training, haha.
@ I find it easier because I can take my lunch with me. Ive been meal prepping for many years now. But I’m in food the service business so customers try giving me a lot of free food. 😃
Ive got to say that I WISH I had taken your approach! For most of my life my goal was to get as jacked and strong as possible. Now, at 59, Im paying the price! Ive had numerous injuries and multiple surgeries... And im shocked at how unathletic ive become. My cardio is so bad that I can only last about 2 minutes per round when sparring. Its kinda embarrassing because I still look kinda jacked but can't perform that well. I'm not the only one either! All my old gym bros are as broke as myself. I'm definitely leaning towards your style of working out now to try to improve my athleticism. What good is being jacked if you can't use it? Any advice on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated...
Man.. that’s a tough question. The US military requires certain numbers to graduate boot camp and they don’t change much through the years. I always hold myself to those numbers. Maybe that’s a good place to start for you. Back to the basics. Focus on getting better at the simple exercises, burpees, pushups, pull-ups, jumping rope etc, and then re-introduced the weight slowly. Good luck 💪
I used to be a big lover of bodybuilding and doing bodybuilding exercises. No I can’t stand it, the bodybuilders of today look disgusting just drug abusers all of them. Now I just like sticking to the basic exercises bodyweight, dumbbell and occasional barbell stuff. I always thought JCVD had the best physique even though he took the juice now and then also Patrick Swayze looked ripped in Roadhouse and Point Break. I am surprised you haven’t seen any of Arnold’s early films. Predator is a classic 💪🏻💪🏻

He also use sandbags. Great addition to calisthenics.
Just the routines you see in my videos. Split is usually push/pull/legs/full body/fullbody, 5 days
