April 14th 1941, 82 years old and has forgotten more about baseball than these kids now will ever know. My first encounter with Pete was when I was 9 yrs old in 1960 and he played for the Geneva Reds. He has been my favorite ever since.

The legality/illegality of his gambling didn't factor into it. ALL major sports prohibit betting on your own sport. He was free to bet the ponies or whatever his addiction wanted. Banned for life AND death, and he's a POS who deserves it.

its a crime Pete is not in the HOF !! Come commissioner make it happen because he gave the game everything he had. While he is still with us let him come home where he rightfully belongs.
