Do you realize that one day when people talk about the history of this town, the Pethericks will be mentioned as having restored several buildings and improving the town. The impact your one family is making on the history of this town is so cool. You all should be so proud of the mark you’re making.
Your outlook is one of the reasons you are successful Billy. Many people would view the leak as a disaster especially since you've done so much work in the library and that's where the leak is. Instead you view it as a positive opportunity and work with that. It is inspiring and definitely one of the appeals of your channel for me 🙂
Can you imagine in the year 2159 the tour guide tells the visitors about a leak in the roof. And that there is 2D footage made by a drone. They needed a machine to go up there to fix it, because they wern’t able to fly up there themselves yet.
I love people who comment on projects that they're not actively involved in if you have the money to pony up to fix a whole roof on a convent please step forward and donate, otherwise please understand that this is a passion project and they are affording it as they can and we should be grateful that they are saving history. Once again Billy thank you so much for the views from the convent to Chateau Pannard and Chateau de Balmainaige (sp?) it really gives us an idea of the scope of your family's world as far as these projects go, let alone just the daily routine of life, family and all the other responsibilities! Well done that man!
Loving the drone footage of the 3 most important buildings in Ernee in my opinion. Yanis is a featherweight, love it. Make sure he is properly tethered while up so high on the cherry picker. We do not want to lose him to a gust of wind. May Ernest and Archibald recover quickly, and the cat. Greetings to Gwen, miss seeing her smiling face showing up occasionally. And doesn't the garden look fabulous, yes it does.
Billy you have an attitude. You look at things in a very positive attitude. I have to say the garden area looks amazing. The grass has come in really nicely. Your dad and Rick did an amazing job in that area.
Wonderful outlook Billy. 2.5 yrs of owning the convent and you’ve done massive changes with the band of brothers that have helped along the way. Crack on safely too all that continue this journey. Sending well wishes for the boys and the cat too. See you both tomorrow and Yannis you are an amazing young man with a great positive attitude. Keep smiling! ❤❤❤❤❤
Put a big and very bright light up in your attic. Have it pointing to where u think it's leaking. Then go outside on your cherry picker and look for the light coming through. The darker outside the better.
When you work on an ancient building plans for the day change constantly depending on the needs. When you don’t adapt to the needs of the building at the time a problem appears you end up with bigger issues. Thank goodness this leak happened before plastering the library. Just be safe Please. Hope everyone feels better soon too.
I have watched for years. This has been my favorite ever video. The combination of not touching "The Feather's" bits, taking care of your sick kids and cat and talking yourself into a positive spin on a untimely(spring or summer being the better time) roof leak, has endeared you to me even more.
For those of us who follow along with your adventures, the roof leak will be a "lucky happenstance"! Wow! From the Mucky Mansion to Petherick Home Base in one drone flight! Thanks for the context.
Your drone shot of the Convent and grounds overlooking the garden led me to realise that given the phenomenal amount restoration and renovation works done in the last 2½yrs, both inside and out, they've added HUGE resale value to the property. I think that if for whatever reason you and Gwen suddenly were to decide to turn around and put it up for sale, the impact of the high quality works to-date and the video channel's high profile should mean that it would sell far more readily & at or near your asking price than comparable properties of this age and type. Obviously, neither of you have any such intention of selling up. I'm just saying how impressive the place looks today and the fact that most of the hard work, i.e. the worst of the stripping out, which is always a daunting prospect for any prospective buyer of any type of property, has already been done, makes the place a far more attractive proposition for any prospective buyer. Hats off to you and your team, past and present.
Thank you so much for giving us a 360 drone shot! It provides such a comprehensive lay of the land and it's exciting to see the distance between all the buildings you all own. Also, that garden looks beautiful. It's been a while since we last saw it.
Thank you for the beautiful drone footage. Billy your positive attitude makes watching your channel a pleasure to watch. 21/2 years oh my gosh I can’t believe it’s been that long. I have been following you for longer than that. I think your channel is an addiction one of the best!
Thank Heavens, you found the leak before the insulation, woodwork, and bookcases went in in that part of the room! You've been lucky. The rains 🌧 have been rather bad testing the roof of many people's homes. I hope everyone is feeling better soon. It seems to be that time of year for illness.
The two slates that are sitting at the bottom of the zinc gutter could be slowing the water up just a little bit to get around the zinc flashing, causing water to get in the house, it may just be that simple ,I had that happen at my house.
Drone idea is a great idea, never thought of that. The roof should last forever, my grandparents have a slat roof in Italy, they would repair once in a while, I like the slat roof too. Looks great in the back of the Convent. The aerial views are fabulous. Yanis, NEVER says no, you have to admire the guy. Thanks for sharing. Till next time.
Re: the roof - everybody's an expert, right? From what I've seen, you know what you're doing Billy, and you are always gracious about people's advice. A slate roof is a bear to fix and maintain and it takes owning one to learn how to do it. Hope you're feeling better, be careful on that roof if you're not 100%.
Bravo
Excellent episode! Best wishes to all,and I hope kids are better very soon. Be well, stay safe all. Thank you all very much for making and sharing this lovely video. I loved the drone shots and the explanation of the pigeons attacking the drone. Lovely narrative, thank you!❤😊👍💖🥰
Great suggestion re drone, gives you that first look at least. Nice overview for perspective! Yanis always ready for the next adventure. Always that great attitude from you Billy. 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
I wish a quick recovery to the boys and the cat, and hope that Gwen manages to escape the germs. There sure are a lot of bad sicknesses circulating around the world these days. Thinking of all of you.❤
So cool to see the roof! Love seeing the Chateau of Sadie and Stan. So excited for them. Love the drone footage. So cool! I like Yanis and that he is working with you all. All the best!
Bumps in the road are opportunities. Your attitude keeps the progress going on this incredible renovation. Always appreciate the team work! Simon is back soon??? & have you heard from Rick?
Man Billy! I can see now, why all of your clan, fell in love with the area! Where I am from, it’s all flat farmland, broken up by the gleaming lights of refineries…🤣🤣🤣✌️🤘🇨🇦
The leak could've been so much worse. Thank goodness it happened when it did really. The problems it could've caused! Plus you'd have a bigger problem finding the entry point. Great filming. Stay safe on the roof tomorrow both of you🤗🇬🇧
I really like the way you look at life’s hurdles, they’re opportunities rather than obstacles. The fact that it happened just before you closed up that wall is quite fortunate. As a cameraman you see how big a difference perspective makes.
I like the way you are thinking about the leak, you are being optimistic about the situation. Being honest it is best you fix it now instead of finding out after you complete the library and then find a leak. More cost effective this way. You are a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing and see you on the roof tomorrow. You all have some beautiful scenery to look out over
Yanis, you are the most pleasant of men always so positive and obliging. Your parents must be so proud😊. Billy and family and of course Simon are the correct people to surround your self with. Billy, hope you and your lovely family are well soon. ❤❤❤❤
It does look like a hole. The pointed tile just above the suspect spot seems to have concentrated the water to wear a hole. There's some staining that suggests the path of erosion.
its an old building. the roof will never be perfect. but tbh- roofs are never perfect-even new ones. just repair what you know is wrong and go from there. youre doing a great job!
The drone footage was brilliant Billy. Looking forward to seeing you and Yannis fix the roof. Hope Ernest and Archie get well soon, also the cat 🥰take care all xxx💕💕💕
There tiles missing on the left at the bottom as well as the hole. When the water races down that gully it will pour under those tiles. You can see the line of silicone that was used under the missing tiles to deflect the water away. 🇨🇦
My amazing roofer told me that a water leak can travel from a great distance before showing as a ceiling leak and he’s proved it to me several times with the roof on my old house. When I get leaks, I’m always amazed where he ends up working on the roof. And he’s always right and once he’s fixed the leaks, they don’t come back. On that note, you may also want to look at the chipped tiles along the lateral edge of the roofline. I feel your pain- I hate roof leaks!
Another great video. You two just seem to make it work. Your commitment and positive attitude keeps everyone upbeat. How is Michael doing? I do look forward to seeing what he is up to. You will find , regarding wall paper design and printing, a great source at How to Renovate a Chateau Without Killing Your Partner. Anna has designed, printed and sold her first two designs.
These storms have been brutal, so much rain, I wish it was warmer for you to work on the roof, but it does make it easier to find the leaks...what a beautiful view of the city and the chateaus...be safe tomorrow...!
It looks like there are missing slate tiles at the apex, right of the zinc trough. That could be the issue where the water follows the timbers to the corner leak. Great view of the town and the two family chateaus and Convent, Billy. Crack On! I've enjoyed every video from day one at the Convent, Billy. Your tenacity just to keep your focus on your goals is everything. I agree, your slate roof will be great with a few repairs.
If there is moss, dirt or missing slates water can work it’s way in between slates especially with the amount of water running down that drainage system! Had same type thing happen and had a company clean roof replaced slates and adjusted as needed! I thought it was the end of the world and I would spend thousands for roof repairs but a simple cleaning and a few new slates !
I like your positive outlook, I don’t see anything being gained from stressing over anything. I hope your lovely boys feel better soon. It’s high time we we were able to say hello to the beautiful Gwen. It would be great if she popped in. X❤
Billy, I love your attitude. Always looking at the positive in all situations is the best way to live life and this is why you’ve been able to get so much accomplished in a short 2 1/2 years. If you focused on the negatives I don’t believe you would have accomplished a fraction of the renovations. I loved the drone footage of the proximity of Pannard and your home to each other and the convent. Yanis might fly away because he’s so light so maybe put some cement in his shoes before going up to the roof. ❤
If you need slate. go to your local slate roofing company. Often they salvage slate from buildings slated to be torn down for resale of the slate. Much cheaper then new.
The parts of the roof you flew over look basically sound to me. It was interesting to see where all the family properties are in relation to each other, and to the town.
Do you realize that one day when people talk about the history of this town, the Pethericks will be mentioned as having restored several buildings and improving the town. Boys will be boys! Has been my impression, lol. No hate just amusing. Not saying girls will be girls. 😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️

I really love this video I can’t believe how close both château’s are to you. It’s really nice to see and also the back garden looks amazing.
I love the drone footage...amazing how clear it is
I Love Yannis. So positive. He is always game for anything ❤️
He's just so calm and easy going. Seems to care so much about everyone and everything 😊😊😊😊
Loving the drone footage of the 3 most important buildings in Ernee in my opinion. Yanis is a featherweight, love it. Make sure he is properly tethered while up so high on the cherry picker. Your humble opinion is the only one that matters, Crack On.!😊
Exactly!
I really love your methodical thoughtful approach to things. ❤
Billy you have an attitude. You look at things in a very positive attitude. I have to say the garden area looks amazing. The grass has come in really nicely. Your dad and Rick did an amazing job in that area.
So cool to see where Pannard is in relation to the convent!
It is a hop, skip and mad dash away🙂👏🏼
Great attitude Billy. Love watching you and Yanis interacting.

Great Suggestion!
Brilliant idea!
Why not go up into the stick during bright sunshine with no light/torches and see if you can see light coming through the roof?
Billy’s repaired many a roof before. He knows what’s required.
The garden clean up looks fabulous
Indeed it does.
When you work on an ancient building plans for the day change constantly depending on the needs. When you don’t adapt to the needs of the building at the time a problem appears you end up with bigger issues. Thank goodness this leak happened before plastering the library. Just be safe Please. There is always a silver lining. If you stress too much, you’ll not make it to the finish! Great job guys! Praying for safety!! ❤❤

Love the drone footage Billy!! Its nice to have an idea of the surroundings...
The garden is looking fantastic even in the middle of winter. Hope the boys and cat are better soon 🥰
Great Drone footage, Thankyou for showing us. You are all quite close to the Convent, awsume.

Thank you for taking time to do the excellent drone footage.
The library is amazing!!
Can't believe the transformation already.
Get better, Billy.
I can tell you might not quite be 100%.
Hi, Yanis!
Blessings.
Loved the aerial tour of Ernee! Thanks for sharing! ❤

Yanis always ready for the next adventure.
Always that great attitude from you Billy. 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
Great drone shots thanks for sharing ❤
Loved that, getting my bearings.😊
I look forward to your videos always positive. Keep on cracking on Billy and Co
😊🏴
What a beautiful area--love the shots of the chateaux.

Brilliant beautiful drone shots 🤗
Hope the boy's & the cat get well soon 🤗
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
The drone footage was wonderful! 🎉 Hope the repair is easy to find and easy to fix!! 🎉
The drone shots are beautiful. It helped me have a better understanding of where everything is. Thank you! I hope the shots help with the roof leaks.
Fantastic drone shots, great seeing where everything is
Man Billy! I can see now, why all of your clan, fell in love with the area! Where I am from, it’s all flat farmland, broken up by the gleaming lights of refineries…🤣🤣🤣✌️🤘🇨🇦
Totally agree nothing wrong with the roof just pigeon poo gone to algae and the odd tile ....lovely filming with the drone 👌 Billy
The leak could've been so much worse. Thank goodness it happened when it did really. The problems it could've caused! Plus you'd have a bigger problem finding the entry point. Great filming. Stay safe on the roof tomorrow both of you🤗🇬🇧

Billy, hope you and your lovely family are well soon. ❤❤❤❤
I have a bit of a crush on him. If only I was younger😂
I like your way of thinking always positiv.
Yannis is such a treasure, really glad he is part of the petherick team. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.
It does look like a hole. The pointed tile just above the suspect spot seems to have concentrated the water to wear a hole. There's some staining that suggests the path of erosion.
Looks like a hole😮
I agree
A hole, definitely.
You are doing a fantastic job Billy. I am amazed at what you are able to do.
its an old building. the roof will never be perfect. but tbh- roofs are never perfect-even new ones. just repair what you know is wrong and go from there. youre doing a great job!
Everything is a learning curve!! Part of your journey through the Convent.
The drone footage was brilliant Billy. Looking forward to seeing you and Yannis fix the roof. Hope Ernest and Archie get well soon, also the cat 🥰take care all xxx💕💕💕
Thank you for the drone overview. Fascinating to see how close Stan and Sadie‘s Château is. What a beautiful area that is 😊

Glad the leak showed up now. Imagine everything being finished and that showing up to ruin it!

You are always so positive, Billy, you are an inspiration to all us to just get on with stuff! Looking forward to cherry picker action.
Was really nice to see the arial of the garden. We had not seen it after all the work Mick and Rick did,
Love the drone clips. So glad Yannis will be strapped in so he doesn’t blow away tomorrow! ❤
The Garden sure looks great. They did a fantastic job on it.
Billy your self and Yanis are doing great 👍👍🤩🤩💛

So nice to see more of your surroundings Billy - thank you very much.
These storms have been brutal, so much rain, I wish it was warmer for you to work on the roof, but it does make it easier to find the leaks...what a beautiful view of the city and the chateaus...be safe tomorrow...!
I know you ll fix it in no time. Love your positive attitude.
Inherent weak spots are those inside edges. It appears in this case to be clad with zinc, which a limited lifespan.
That was totally cool. More drone shots!!
Great video from the drone billy thanks for sharing the views the town looks lovely, you an d yanis are so funny together 😅
The change in the 2 1/2 years is just amazing it really shows in the drown shot ❤
Loved the drone shots. Make sure you tie Yanis down so he won't fly away in the wind ❤
Absolutely stupendous awesome drone footage! Great video today....cracking on tomorrow on a cherry picker!
Those drone shots….., makes me want to live in rural France!
Love your positivity, Billy❤!
Love your outlook Billy positive always ❤
Thanks for the video ❤
It looks like there are missing slate tiles at the apex, right of the zinc trough. That could be the issue where the water follows the timbers to the corner leak. Great view of the town and the two family chateaus and Convent, Billy. Crack On! I've enjoyed every video from day one at the Convent, Billy. Your tenacity just to keep your focus on your goals is everything. I agree, your slate roof will be great with a few repairs.
If there is moss, dirt or missing slates water can work it’s way in between slates especially with the amount of water running down that drainage system! I really enjoyed our little tour, through the eyes of your drone.
Oh Billy wonderful drone shots. You’re so very talented and impressive with your skills and plans.
I love this channel especially for the steady use of protection gear!❤
I love watching your videos 😍
Love the drone shots ❤❤❤❤❤
I loved the drone “tour”. Also sooooo much better to find the leak before you finish the library. It’ll be fun to watch the roof repair.
Wind could have moved even a brand new roof. It looks like the weather has been pretty bad there. Love the overview of the area. Your doing great
That's definitely a hole in that zink!
and the triangle tile drips straight in the whole.
I think we could all see it on our screens clearer than he could on the drone controller.
100%. It looks like one of the slates slid down during the recent storm and smashed a hole through
@@justinthompson-jy6ch I thought that at first but looks more like it just erodes more there dripping from that pointy tile rather than a puncture.
I saw it too.
It’s a hole in that zinc gutter, I saw a drop of water falling into it
