Finally got a small 375ml bottle of Lalo to try based on your recommendations. It really is beauty in simplicity and might just become my new go-to Blanco. The high proof jumped to next on my purchase list despite other bottles being on that list a bit longer.
I bought Lalo on your recommendation and I was not disappointed! I will try the high proof next. My brothers and I are starting to get into tasting different types of tequila, especially ones that are additive free. I did not realize the flavors are so complex.
Lalo is a pretty good blanco. It's not my favorite personally, but it's good. It's at the right price point between $35-50, depending on one's market. I just bought a bottle of the high proof today.
wow. that sounds awesome. what barrels are you using? also, where did you get the barrel? how long? i'm basically asking you to explain the whole process... haha.
Picked up a bottle of Tequila Oucho after watching your 30+ video and loved it. I will check out Lalo if I kind find it. Thanks for the videos, really enjoy them.
Tequila Ocho is one of the best blancos out there, though admittedly I’ve only finished 23 bottles of blanco so I’m not quite the expert yet…but I’m sipping my way there!
I definitely wanna check out the Lalo High Proof. Though I recently went to Total Wine and decided to go for a 2nd bottle of Mijenta Maestra Selection instead, because I loved it! If T.W. still has a bottle (which they should because they had like a dozen when I went) after Christmas, I will definitely pick one up to try! Salud, Lui! 🥃✌
Love the emphasis on blanco. That is tequila imho. I appreciate the aging & barreling (chasing the Scotch template), but tequila has such an interesting flavor on its own, that I don’t think it NEEDS wood to make it great.
What a great piece!! Lalo barely has an accent. I am very curious as to where he lived as a young adult. For him to use the word "sessionable" in this video as a superlative for this product is FASCINATING! Hey Lui! I live in MASS! Where can I get a hold of the high proof?!? If my only option is to make the trek out to see you in Mboro for a glass neat then that's what I will do!
I like Lalo because it's a "pure" tasting tequila. Slight notes to it rather than heavy notes like some other tequilas. I recently bought a bottle of the high proof and it's similar but has that high proof "warmth" to it. My friends said "Woah!" when they tried it. 108 proof is definitely noticeable when compared to the 80 proof.
I see Lalo becoming more and more popular. A few times I've recommended it when I see people in the tequila aisle reaching for something like Casamigos, or Patron, or even Don Julio. I'd love to get my hands on the high proof stuff.
I think the cat might be out of the bag on this underrated gem because I used to be able to buy it for around $40 bucks all day long at my supermarket and then I noticed it started selling really well and now its around $48 bucks. Then the ocho Plata went down to about $43 so that's just my go to now. I could probably get lalo cheaper at total wine but locally that's the price in my area.
Based on your recommendation I bought Lalo from Total Wines and can’t wait to try it. While I was there, an employee was trying to get me to buy “Suavecito”….what do you think of this tequila?
I need to get a bottle of the high proof. I have a bottle of Lalo and it’s really good but I’m trying to save it for like special occasion just because of how great it is
Can you do a review on Reserva Palacios Tequila? I know it's an import but I don't know much about it. Just recently came back from Mexico with a bottle, but I'd like to know as much about it before I recommend it to others. I bought the Coffee Tequila by the way.
I like Lalo. They’re also supposed to be additive free last I checked on Tequila Mathmaker before they removed the additive free list (don’t be afraid to say it Lui 🙃).
I bought Lalo for the fam for thanksgiving.... it was great! One of my aunts who think she knows about tequilas. She called it low quality tequila 😂😂😂😂 i just said "yeah. Its the cheapest and worst tequila ever" and left it there lol and ironically she's the one who brought a don julio blanco 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i just stayed quiet lmao
One thing I always say about Lalo is that, in many ways, it IS what Don Julio WAS before it was sold to Diageo. Not just because it’s owned and operated by Don Julio’s grandson. But also because his aim was to get back to his family’s roots of Tequila making. The flavor profile probably isn’t EXACTLY the same as his grandfather’s Tequila was back in the day, but very close. I always thought that Lalo’s aroma & flavor is similar to that of Don Julio, but of course there’s no additives so its quality is much higher. And the profile is also richer and more organic.
@ I’d pick Mijenta Blanco, or their Maestra Blanco. Because it’s very light, and has a very fruity and somewhat floral aroma and flavor, which is something that women seem to enjoy. Another good choice would be any one of the Tequila Ocho expressions, their tequila is very elegant. Both brands are additive-free, and absolutely fabulous.
@cdmak1 Lalo really doesn't do it for me. Right now my favorites that i can find fairly easily would be G4, Espolon, LA Gritona, el tequileno, el Tesoro. I was just in vegas and found fortaleza at circa, vegas Vicky's and it was fantastic but I can't find it anywhere near me here in the PNW.

Just got the high proof. Great pour. I bought two bottles of the regular Lalo. I am currently barrel aging it. Excited to see how it turns out.
Oh wow! What a fun experiment! Let me know how it comes out!
wow. that sounds awesome. what barrels are you using? also, where did you get the barrel? how long? i'm basically asking you to explain the whole process... haha.
is it a new oak cask? or ex-bourbon? dont leave us hanging man!
@@boombatza3030 - it has been in the barrel for 3 months. Probably gonna start trasting it soon.
Where did you get the high proof?
Picked up a bottle of Tequila Oucho after watching your 30+ video and loved it. I will check out Lalo if I kind find it. Thanks for the videos, really enjoy them.
You can probably pass on LALO if you already have Tequila Ocho blanco. They are very similar in my opinion. T8 being the better of the two.
Yeah ocho is way better in my opinion. I really likeCascahuin tahona and amatiteña tahona.
Tequila Ocho is one of the best blancos out there, though admittedly I’ve only finished 23 bottles of blanco so I’m not quite the expert yet…but I’m sipping my way there!
Well done, thanks for the show!
My friend and I only drank DJ until finding your channel. Thanks sooo much for putting Tequila Ocho and Cazcanes on my radar! Gotta try Lalo soon.
Happy to hear you're discovering new favorites!

Lalo is my go to, and the high proof is awesome!
He was in town and hopped in to sign some High proofs. So I bought one with his signature!
What a great piece!! Lalo barely has an accent. I am very curious as to where he lived as a young adult. I have some here for sure, but I know some stores have some as well. The total wine in Natick had some last time I was there
@ thx Lui!!
So far it's going great! Salud! LOL This guy is awesome and so is his tequila. Lalo is VERY good!

One of my favorites. Recommend to everyone for the taste and the price!!
He came to my liquor store I felt so so blessed he is a real man very kind and sweet respectful gentleman ❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰
Lalo is one of my favorite pours, so smooth and easy to sip.
I see Lalo becoming more and more popular. A few times I've recommended it when I see people in the tequila aisle reaching for something like Casamigos, or Patron, or even Don Julio. I'd love to get my hands on the high proof stuff.

Love Lalo, it's always a good buy
I really like the High Proof Lalo! So Good!
Also, try Cardenas Legacy Tequila same NOM as Lalo with Repo & anejo coming.
I thought it was a bit boring. Still love my G4!
I keep The Don on hand so this seems like a tequila I must try. I intend to buy a bottle very soon.
Based on your recommendation I bought Lalo from Total Wines and can’t wait to try it. While I was there, an employee was trying to get me to buy “Suavecito”….what do you think of this tequila?
Lalo is ALWAYS on my table at parties or just because mama wants a Paloma
Between Ocho, Fortaleza, and Lalo, they’re all delicious…it’s a what am i in the mood for moment. Ocho is my go-to however
They need to drop at least a repo version even if it is seasonal
I need to get a bottle of the high proof. I have a bottle of Lalo and it’s really good but I’m trying to save it for like special occasion just because of how great it is

I bought the high proof after loving the volans still strength. Not as good but it was $25 less so no complaints.
they need this in Philadelphia. I promoted to a lot of people want it in Philly
Just cross the bridge over to NJ. Plenty liquor stores have Lalo. It’s good stuff!
I like Lalo. They’re also supposed to be additive free last I checked on Tequila Mathmaker before they removed the additive free list (don’t be afraid to say it Lui 🙃).
Interesting… how does Lalo compare to Siete Leguas? Interested to hear your opinion!

Lalo is fire
Dang Lalo High Proof is $80 at Total Wine here in Phoenix

Hey what tequila is best to buy for a female companion. Something with a lot of flavors
Lalo is my favorite. One of the reasons is that it has no preservatives
What does high proof mean? 😃
It has more alcohol. Most tequila is 80 proof (40% alcohol). This one is higher.
This is 54% or 108 proof
@@wg2060 WOW, thank you Sir. 😃
Lalo and Cabo wabo very similar
No they shouldn't be the next Don Julio. They should be BIGGER because they are BETTER! 🥃👌
If Lalo does become to the next Don Julio I hope they stay addictive free unlike don julio lol
I was not a big fan of this one.
Give me a G4 over this any day!
It’s okay. Tequila Ocho is way better and cheaper.
5 years in and no aged expressions tells me no. You can crank out blancos and they do.
I bought lalo on your recommendation and was very disappointed. I thought it was terrible. Not buying it again.
Lalo uses champagne yeast
It has a champagne type flavor.
Not a fan.....
I don't like either
Not even in my top ten.
I love Lalo. Curious what your top ten are
