I live in rural Oregon and there is a Goodwill Bins about 40 min away. Went for the first time this summer and found the experience so overwhelming I almost just left. Now, after more trips to the bins, I'm used to the chaos and dig away in the bins like a pro. I always wear garden gloves and can't believe how dirty they get. I view each trip as a treasure hunt. My last trip I scored a vintage Spode China cranberry dish in the aster pattern, no chips or cracks, in very good condition. I paid less than a dollar for that bowl. Less than a regular Goodwill would charge. There is an auction on ebay for the same for $139.00. I'm keeping the one I found! Good Luck to you on your treasure hunts!
I was going to comment my Oregon experience but this was my exact experience my first time going to the bins in Salem. Walked in, saw crowds flinging items in the air and walked right back out, lol. Have gotten a bit more brave since then 😄.
Portland, OR bins are always packed. Someone I know goes for children's clothes with tags sewn in. Washes, resells, makes triple digits on picking there.
We are antique book collectors so I am really glad you saved those. I used a black Scofield Reference Edition Bible for over 30 years as my everyday Bible.
Seeing the books damaged breaks my heart. So glad you saved some of them.

Love your book finds! I grab old books like that pretty everywhere I see them, I hate to think they will be destroyed on purpose.
It’s like that at the bins in VA too , but no one violent or rude.
I used to shop there to help build up my resell business. I was blessed because no one was buying Farmhouse so I just swooped in behind them and got ALL the good stuff. Baskets, wrought iron, art, signs, shelves, etc.

I felt that the prayer card you held up was meant for me. I am going into hospital December 23rd for heart surgery. I am very nervous about this surgery. The card was like God sending me a personal prayer 🙏.
Then it probably was! I find that God loves reaching out to me in ways like that so I don’t doubt it for a second! I will pray that your surgery goes well & God gives you peace of mind. ❤️

I’m in Houston too! I’ve tried getting to the Ling Point BIns early, late, different days and noticed that it seems to be busiest Wed-Fri. There are always lots of resellers there waiting to pounce on shoes, jeans and toys. I just try and find a spot away from them! 🤣😂😅

I am dead that you didn't get the Hot Air Balloon Richard Scarry book and the vintage Botany Year Round book. Those are both books I would have bought from your ebay shop!! I collect children's books (new and old, just depends on the subject matter) and antique nature books. Ours are crazy in Austin- stampede when new bins are rolled out- and hard to get a shopping cart- they let people take 5,6,7 carts at a time- people just grab and fill carts- then they go thru their carts and weed out what they don’t want later- merchandise might sit in those carts for hours.

I've been to the bins in my town three times. First two were pretty lackluster, but the third time, I left with some real treasures and spent very little for what I got. It was pretty busy and, yes, folks went crazy when new bins were put out. I just stayed away until they were done with their feeding frenzy and that worked out fine for me. I really want to go again soon. Kind of hooked on the great deals at this point. 🙂

Yep! They do that at my GW bin store too. It can be quite intimidating...I think the best time to go is Sunday when they open at 1:00, seems to be a bit less crowded.

What a cool bin of old books; today Goodwill tried to charge me $7.99 for an oldish book. The worker that marks the stuff looks the items on the internet and price them for what he sees them on ebay or other sites, Unbelievable. Goodwill is losing my business for sure. Nice haul Danielle!!!
I consider dumpster diva queen of the bins .she goes every day .and has become an expert..but I enjoy watching Nicole also..
I only went once, and would love to go again. When I did go, my daughter went with me. She passed away last year and nothing is the same anymore., but I would still love to go.

I've never been to Goodwill bins, it sounds like a lot of work to dig through them but holy moly you found some great stuff. The books would have costs a lot more at an antique mall. Love the wood shoe form and round wood board! 😊❤

We have Goodwill here in VA but none which I’ve visited, and that’s a lot, they don’t participate in the bins.

Your wooden shoe 👞 form looks great in your vignette - and I am so glad you got that aged piece of lace and the pretty white handkerchief with the frilly, lacey trim - I would have grabbed those textiles, too, Danielle. I like that you were "speaking into existence" that one day you will find an old photo album, complete with Vintage black and white and Antique photographs. I recommend that you write ✍ down the date you made this video and document that you spoke this and later when you have the fruition of the photo album in your possession, you can look back at your documentation and see just how long it actually was before God brought what you spoke into existence to pass. It's rewarding - and sobering - to see God work...One Sunday at church, God told me a couple from church was dating and in the same breath told me the Pastor's wife was pregnant!!! But He said I couldn't SAY ANYTHING TO ANYONE, because the couple were just newly dating and hadn't told anyone and were keeping it private...and He also said the Pastor's wife DIDN'T EVEN KNOW SHE WAS PREGNANT YET❣🙉 So, God told me I had to "wait until it is announced" - and 4 MONTHS LATER THE PASTOR'S WIFE WAS AT THE PODIUM AND TOLD EVERYONE AT CHURCH ABOUT THE DATING COUPLE - AND THAT SHE WAS PREGNANT❣🙊🙉💜 It was wonderful to look back and see just exactly how long I sat on those secrets in silence! 😉🙏☝*
I go Wednesdays 2 hours before they close and its always so peaceful!

We just got a good will bins in my area this summer. And it is always crazy... Just the way it looks in your video. I have only been there two times and only on the weekend. - I love the books you found I always to look for older books but never find any.

Hello! Just found your channel and I am so excited to follow you! I go to the bins here in CT and they are much more chaotic when I have gone. I have tried going at various times but it seems it is always crazy there. I love books as well and I try to rescue as many as I can. The bins are the last stop before the landfill and the thought of losing them.... One suggestion I have is to wear some thin leather gloves so you don't get cut by broken glass or sharp broken metal pieces when you are searching. I learned the hard way when I ended up with 10 stitches and a tetanus shot! Looking forward to watching your channel and exciting finds!!
There is a bins about 40 minutes from me but from the reviews I have read online about it I won’t go because I value personal space and respect and I heard the management and employees are just as bad as the customers and they favor the “regulars”. I did go to ones state away fro me that was small and not very packed. I will live vicariously through TH-camrs like you and Nicole 😉

I've been to the one in San Antonio it was crazy ever some ladies were fighting over items , I took my own bag & wore gloves . There's alot if broken glass in the bins etc

I go to the bins in the Denver area, and it is crazy when they bring out the new bins. Then it settles down until the next rotation. I just stay back and let them rifle through.
Oh yes, I've never seen a bins that wasn't chaos. I will say that some of them the people seem slightly more laid back about their digging. Nicole's bins video shows still wrapped glassware. At the bins I've been to everything is ripped open immediately when the bins are rolled out. I've never seen a complete game or puzzle. I usually stay back until the initial frenzy, or the vultures as I call them, are done, and then I go in.
That’s exactly how I am! To be honest, I find the same stuff at our goodwill stores so I don’t feel the need to join in on the chaos! But good to know it’s not just my area! 😅
You can Modpodge them. I do that to my vintage books you can’t even tell.
Yep, our bins are totally madness. I just went this past Saturday and it was crazy but I stayed until a couple hours before close and it cleared out quite a bit. The only downside to staying late is that it seems they don't bring out new bins when it gets close to closing time.
What a fabulous trove of antique books you found. I have never been to the bins because we do not have any Goodwills in Rhode Island. We only have two Savers that I know of. Not good if you are a dedicated Thrifter.

You really should have grabbed that red and white checked cookbook. It sells for about $35.00 on Ebay.
The little piece of paper from Bethania Hospital is in Wichita Falls. Called something else now. I was born there. I think the Catholic church was affiliated with it.

I used to work at a goodwill and I hated it cause yes that's true it's always crazy when they pull these carts or bins out and it's like woah slow the f down we littlery had to put plz stand back while we are done putting the carts on the floor and goodwill always sucks there prices were expensive I found a rat on the back and wherever the rat sat they still wanted to price it and put it on the cart anf it was nasty. If i threw that out I would get into trouble. Every goodwill is so messy the only one that was clean was mine even some customers were like "yeah I have a goodwill store near me but when I found this goodwill it's littery the cleanest" and I said thank u and I'm like true on that cause I have a goodwill closer to me that I could of worked at. But clothes were everywhere like when it got so packed nobody cleaned it or savage it. But I worked at the goodwill store which is like 20 mintues away because it was litteraly so organized so clean, like even when people were at the store we were cleaning the store putting stuff away salvaging stuff away while people were there
