- Today we see BR 70000 Britannia back in the North on the Lakelander . the tour started at Leicester to Carlilsle on the WCML, later returning via the Settle to Carlisle line, filmed at salterwath in gale force winds, thanks to cath for the best video today, note that location is now out of bounds to the east of the line so the farmer told me,, someone left the gate open and the sheep escaped and was not happy, 🤔🥵 there is allways one ????
Very nice, like...
Thanks . 👍
Good shot at WH. The Brit sounding great at Shap.😀👍
Yes indeed it sounded great from a standing start too, cheers David , Steve 🙂
Steve, Great captures on what looked like a very wild weather day. Sadly the Brit never returned home. Regards, John
Sad John, but we got a great north run in very windy conditions, cheers Steve .
Great performance from Brittania, good to see her back on a railtour for the first time in a while
It was nice to see the brit back and sounding great on shap, but it failed at Carlisle, thanks Steve .🤔
Lovely sequencing Steve, great video!
thanks Angus, plenty goingon next few days with the GB XV1 with the two 5s 🤞
Very enjoyable video sequences Stephen. Thanks very much for sharing. Regards Andrew.
Thanks very much Andrew it was an intersting day with the wind and rain, we were lucky it kept fine for the main event, cheers 👍
Lovely to see her back on the mainline and sounding sweet. Thanks for braving the S&C weather!
Typical spring weather today, but the wind was a problem too, but the brit did sound well over Shap . 👍
Lovely them Steve brilliant videoing nicely 😊 done
Thanks very much Graham, cheers .👍
Good footage Steve, I thought you said you forgot to press the record button but you got two very nice shots
thanks Austin, i meant at woodhouse earlier, cath got a shot at Woodhouse i managed to see it in the sun but no record, cheers . 🤔
Spot on Steve, good to see the Brit working well but unfortunate to only make it to Carlisle, cheers 👍
A beautiful loco and working hard - but with sad consequences as we discovered at Carlisle. As soon as the train came to a halt in Platform 1 the crew were out and checking the motion - they knew they were in trouble. What a shame.
thanks Tim, a great shame as it sounded great at Shap .
Great footage despite the conditions.
Thanks for sharing.
And sharing the bad news concerning the location, there's always one, words fail me 🤬🙄🙄
Always one that spoil it yes indeed very true, thanks indeed it was great to see the brit today, but sad it failed 🤔
Nice video
thanks Josh, stay tuned loads steam on its way with the GB XV1 tour in full swing . 👍
Nice sequence,the weather was kind!
Well it didn't rain, but it was gale force winds and hard to stand up, still a great day for steam with three steamers over shap and more to come, cheers 👍
Very nice Steve , good to see the Brit again with a great performance from a standing start at Tebay. Very surprised the farmer didn’t turf you out of the field at Salterwath as he’s not a happy bunny with anyone at the moment. You did well with your Tardis to be there 12 days ago 🤔😂👍
Ha Ha yes the Tardis Steve, just a typo, cheers, but yes i nearly got kicked out of the field but managed my two steam captures first, it was great to see the Brit and from a standing start too, i could see two plumes of smoke one from Tebay and another 34067 further back, very sad to hear it failed at Carlisle today, cheers . 🤔
Is it Lakelander?
SADLY...she "chatted" a bit too well on the way up to Carlisle where she was failed. Big end probs. allegedly. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
