I love that they put out a more affordable version to get the Nightshade in more people's hands. I hope they do one with a deployment hole also, blade is thin enough that I wouldn't worry about much getting trapped in it with the full flat ground.
I already have the M390 version, but this really is a great knife. It's funny looking, but it's such a good cutter. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone, in either configuration.
As a Taiwanese, the the original type knife you call " SHI LIN CUTTER " is my first pocket knife when I was a kid, SHI LIN CUTTER is a very beautiful and useful design, that knife even have mini version about 5~6 cm long ! super cute !
@@NeevesKnives HAHA yes I have the biggest one and the smallest one, I show the the "New Shilin Cutter" to my father ( he gave me the two knives ) and he is so happy to see that~

A very useful bladshape the nessmuk is but not for everyone. I have a fixed blade with a similar profile and it's great for skinning but I've never used mine for EDC. Might have to check this one out as it's a good price and Kizer has great build quality. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
I am HAPPY to report that, indeed, Vosteed’s customer service is EXCELLENT, and has exceeded my expectations! I truly love the Nightshade LT, and now I am I love with the company and its amazing people. This a small and highly personal company is trying to build a responsible brand with imaginative, though practical, new designs. Despite having to return the knife for a replacement (which is probably a one-off issue), I am pleased to have had the experience of working with these incredible people!
Thanks for that sharpening info bro. That’s one of the reasons why I find you high regarded in sharpening for sharing that little tidbit of advice of what has worked well with 154cpm. I could use some advice on the s35vn WE steel . Like what to finish with , prob 600 -800 grit works for most everything .mi did notice what you were talking about no stickiness but still sharp after mirror polishing a few edges they felt more sticky after an 800 stone . Oh well , still learning
Some steels stickiness increases with grit some does until a certain grit and then falls off, your angle can help increase the bite. The lower the angle the more bite. Some that do stay sticky with bite quickly lose it after little use as they don't hold a lasting fine edge.
Nice; I see they also offer it in gray micarta. I got the original nightshade with brass bolster after seeing you mention it, (along with the Urban EDC Nessie) and really like it. This is a cool budget version though, and that’s a great deal especially with the prybar.
Always like that knife. Pretty sweet they made a cheaper one. After using that edge for a day you would sharpen it! It doesn’t have that #BangGang Bite.
Not digging the look of the pivot, but it wont stop me from buying it 😁 Yue is a great designer and Kizer does such a good job with their own knives and their OEM work. Would be hard to beat Kizer this year when it comes to budget and mid range prices. Kizer has also put out so many great knives this year (not even counting the Exclusives), and they are dropping even more in the very near future. And they also been so great at keeping their prices down. We/Civivi has let me down big time this year, maybe I just have been unlucky, but their detents are so inconsistent, sucks pulling that flipper tab and the blade just flops out 60-70%
@@BrandonGavin_EDC Yeah I guess. My Subjugator was great, but everything after that has been mediocre. The Chevalier was pretty decent though. Got 2 of the new Cetos from different stores, both detents are whack. Got the Thug 2 on the way, hoping it's better.
@@Cid_1 I definitely want a Thug 2. The Cetos is cool, maybe because it’s only the second frame lock they have done that it’s looser than normal, even though WE has plenty of experience with framelocks.
@@BrandonGavin_EDC The Cetos has a great blade shape and steel, it's comfortable and the framelock works great. To me it's just the poor detents that kills it for me. The Thug 2 looks bad ass and I heard good things. I know We/Civivi are capable of making amazing knives and have been for many years. It could be that they simply have the capacity to take their time (because OEM work). But that is just speculation. But I think there is something to it, considering they put something out it gets sold out everywhere (if popular) it's out of stock for about 2 months then it gets restocked and they move on to the next new models. Where as earlier when they had a popular model they make them for a long time. The Elementum's & Baby Banter seem to be the only models they consistently make.
Jared I have a Rockwall with some serious lock rock. Does your, and anyone you know have this issue? I didn’t contact tactile knife yet. Wanted to see if this is isolated or is it more widespread. Thanks brother for what you do 🤘🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I’m really having a problem with the 154CM blade in this knife. The edge rolls far too easily after light to moderate use. Cut up garlic - rolled the edge! I pierced through a plastic jar and rolled the tip! Constant touch up is required. I have 440A and D2 blades that are much tougher than the 154CM in this blade. Very disappointing. ☹

Yeah, me to. I sent Jared an email about it. Just for kicks I tried the NP20 discount code for the knife/prybar combo, and it works fine. That would be only $24 for the prybar, but I really only wanted the knife, in gray. After blowing my whole paycheck on knives on Friday I want that five bucks, LOL!
Stassa, I just got back an email from Vosteed Customer Service about Kizer being the OEM for this knife. They replied that they have have changed OEM’s, and the Nightshade LT is NOT produced by Kizer. They did not disclose the name of the new OEM. I have told them that knowing the OEM is of great interest to the knife community, and that they should distribute that information. I wanted to send you the email, but I could not find your address. Regardless, I am looking forward to getting mine and using it.

I got both of the original M390 versions. They are amongst my most-carried ever!
Well, there goes another one on the list. Good video brother 👍 Thanks
The blade shape makes me think of a spear point that was bent down. Looks incredibly useful!
Pretty cool knife. Always appreciate your expertise on blade steel and sharpening.
My buddy, Cliffe Wharnsfoot, said that it looks like a Shilly KukNess… or was it a Kuky Shillmuk!? I forget! 🤔
