A modern take on a traditional Shilin Blade. Proof that they knew what the hell they were doing.

Just received mine yesterday in black G10 along with the prybar and gotta say I absolutely love it! They got everything right, and it allows me to imagine of what the Spyderco Dialex from years ago may have been, had it been allowed to evolve... Move over Griptilian, hello Nightshade!

It's the nicest looking nessmuk/kukri-esque folder I've seen so far. Really growing on me, though I've just about maxed-out my monthly folder budget. Thanks for highlighting features I had not noticed before!

This is very nice, and one of the best versions of a folding Nessmuk style knife I've seen so far. I like it better than the Revo Ness, the ABKT Grunt, or the Kizer Infinity. Thanks for your research.

Very interesting shape for a folding knife and it actually looks great and the price is good. Thank you for sharing with us

This is a very good looking knive. Been following the brand for a while now. And when they (ever) come to the Netherlands, I am getting one.

That`s what i like about my Lansky X7, the curved design, so comfy! Not as fancy as this one but still a decent user.

8:28 what are your thoughts on the Nightshade TH (thumbhole) variant as opposed to the TL (flipper) you reviewed here?

I really like that one, it reminds me of my Parata, which I Love.
Doesn't have the lefty love, so I won't be spending my pennies on it, too bad.
Doesn't seem like a smart decision limiting those sales for a company that's trying to get rolling and be unique with their designs.
I'd have even considered making an exception for it, cause it only has one deployment method, which is usually a turnoff for me also.
I figured I'd be able to roll it out due to the width of the blade.
    Oh well.
Thank you for showcasing it though, it's enjoyable to look at.

I disagree with the thumbstud comment, since you would lose a bit of the cutting edge. However, a thumbhole would be better, since it would then translate to ambidextrous opening and spidey flick capabilities.

Instead of saying they made the text on the blade minimal you can say it's very subtle

Also a true statement, clearly this shape was widely respected in many cultures

  • @OmegaTungsten

With all due respect I don't mean to be disrespectful at all; seeing the company's location is Room 2703 Poly World Trade Center E block 1000 Xin'gang E Rd, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China, 510320, they sure go out their way to not disclose this a made in China product. At least Olight mentions this in website clearly.
That is a pass for me; cool that they sent this knife to you. Great video though.

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I don't usually specify because basically everything with these materials and price are made in china. It's also on the card found in the box which clearly identifies it.
