@Maren Humblebee in one hus previous vlogs he said that he only posted the videos after he moved out because he was like moving every ten days so people won’t know where he lives or smth like that
@@marenhumblebee2736 he probably has a posting schedule based on what content performs best on which days, like most TH-camrs. E.g. he posts paris vlogs on Sundays.
Jack saying that ‘Tense’ is the right word because it’s ‘In-TENSE’. The man never misses. P.S. I get my tenses mixed up all the time. So you’re not alone.
If France is anything like Italy, bagels are not a thing. On that note - PLEASE move to Italy for a while, I would love a vlog series in Italy and would also love for you to explore more Italian writers.
Omg getting to see Paris being aesthetically pleasing is awesome. Jack is basically that cool cousin who goes abroad for a semester and a part of your worldview is based on their perspective 😂
Not that I was ever in any doubt about Jack's music taste, but when I heard the opening chords of "Space Girl" I was like "yessss"! You're living the life I want. The Moulin Rouge sounds amazing.
your teacher introducing you to that pastry reminded me of the time when we had a British professor for our Shakespeare class (I studied English Lit & Culture here in Germany) and he introduced us to mince pies with homemade brandy butter during our final class before Christmas! Long story short, one of the main things he ended up teaching us was that mince pies do not contain meat xD
Without having read it yet my understanding is that part of the point of 'A Little Life' is that life is is one massive 'ugly cry' sometimes...I think showing your authentic tears while engaging with that piece of work is a beautiful thing and actually compliments your analysis of a really difficult text. So please don't beat yourself up for how you look when you cry, everyone looks 'ugly' when they cry sometimes and the fact that a work of literature could bring that out of you is a beautiful thing in and of itself. You're wonderful, Jack
Fun fact: the brand “Paris Baguette” is actually not a french, but a Korean bakery chain. It’s quite popular in Paris, I recommend 100% (their croissants are ✨chef’s kiss✨)
Wow, I thought it being Korean was interesting enough but the fact that’s it’s actually popular in Paris? I thought it would be something like Taco Bell being actively enjoyed in Mexico. That’s quite cool!
I remember that video where you read A Little Life and thinking your crying was very sweet and vulnerable and I appreciated you sharing it publicly. I didn’t notice anything less than lovely about it, definitely not as warped and contorted as my crying faces are 😂
jack’s lifestyle and goal of living around the world for the next few years has basically cemented my plan for after uni, this man is literally who i wanna be when i grow up 😭🥰🥰
Today on ‘Jack in Paris’: Will Jack be able to read a Short Story in FRENCH before the year’s up. What does the neighbour have to say about his mini-concerts?
This really is my Comfort Channel! No matter how hard the day has been when I watch both your channels I automatically feel better. Lots of love from South Sudan🇸🇸. Currently battling a cold, Pray for me Y'all! 😪🤧
In Spain we don't have bagels either, they just got here and they are marketing them as a USA/UK breakfast treat. So, turns out we only eat toast. The more you know I guess
Ooh he’s about to hit 200k!! 🎉 remember the day this channel launched and he was like ‘if you subscribe today you can literally say you’ve been here since day one’ 😍
These vlogs are so freaking inspiring. Jack posts them during Sunday afternoons for me, and the rest of the day become productive. So thanks for these mini masterpieces. Ps- The fact that your French teacher talks in French all the time is giving me intense high school flashbacks. 💜

I was in Paris last week and went to l’epiciere after seeing your TH-cam short of it and was unreal!! The cocktails were so different from anything I’ve ever had before!
Forgetting your own language while learning a new one is accurate af lol I'm currently learning French as a third language and my Spanish is suffering for sure
The grammaire-grand-mère-confusion reminded me of a Molière quote: "Veux-tu toute ta vie offenser la grammaire ? - Qui parle d'offenser grand-père ni grand-mère ?"
Bagels aren't really a thing in France, unless they're used as sandwiches. And also, if you like chouquettes, try buying some chantilly with it next time, especially if your boulangerie has some. I personally love putting chocolate spread in it, it's *chef kiss*
I just got my reading log and daily planner and i just wanted to say damnnnn like you really did that. I feel so seen and understood somehow. I'm honestly in awe so thank you jack for putting so much care and thought into it.

I finished “A little life” two days ago. That book wrecked me. Yes, it is incredibly sad and heartbreaking.(Spoiler alert) Losing the characters was extremely hard, but so was parting from them . I still can’t get over their lives, it feels like they’ve become a part of my own. Not to be dramatic, but i also try to be kind to everything i see from now on, and in everything i see, i see him.
I read the book after Jack uploaded his vlog reading it and I still think about it and honestly feel the same way as you, I love the characters so much and I think the book changed me in some way but I don't regret reading it beacuse I got to learn about broken but beautiful people
My jaw literally DROPPED when Jack grabbed the couscous box and A SECRET BAR OPENED UP. Like I was just sitting here thinking "I like couscous too, yeah" and then ??!!!!
So, no, bagels are not a thing in France ! You can find some really good bagels in specialized bakeries but otherwise, we are quite confused by them (I mean, why is there a hole in it ? Seems like a loss of valuable bread !). And chouquettes are the best things ! They are traditionally given to kids as an after-school snack or brought to parties at work (as your teacher did) because they are easy to share. The dough used to make them is used in a lot of other French pastries so if you like chouquettes, you should try éclairs, religieuse or salambo (all found in bakeries) or profiterolles (a dessert found in most traditionnal French restaurants).
Ahhh Jack, I love your experience of moving to Paris because I’m just moved to Vienna and I can relate to all the language learning and meeting new people! Also loved how you treated yourself to some steak, imma do the same🎉
loving these jack!! would you consider doing a detailed description of your weeks in paris (practical side like where you did your french course for example) once you move back to the uk? (if that's even on the planning 🤓) sincerely, a girl navigating her twenties and wondering what the hell to do with life after uni 🥴
For the bagels you can find them in big supermarkets or specialty shops but thats it ! edit: JACK DO NOT COOK CROQUE MONSIEUR IN OLIVE OIL WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???? You have to cook it in butter mate 😭
There's a bagel place right by your school! It's called Bagels & Brownies and they're good. Bagel Corner is a franchise that is good if you plan on getting a bagel sandwich, but they're not good enough to hold up on their own, IMO. There's also a huge chain Bagelstein with lots of locations, but it's a sexist and homophobic company, so I've never been. I usually just bake my own haha
i have an idea ... Jack... Damon Dominique... meeting in paris... jack learning french from damon dominique in paris ... i mean im not saying im a genius but LIKEEE
We do have bagels Jack !! I have one just under the flat i live in and they're very good, it's called 'Bagel Corner' and you can find them on the 8th, 9th and 13th arrondissement if i remember correctly !
I love people watching too! And I'm totally for romanticising daily life. I love when strangers make flirty eye contact with each other or smile at each other, and I'm always thinking "omg ask them out!!" I think I used too read too much of the Metro's rush-hour crush section 🤣
you can find bagels at mark and spencer (although many of them are now closed :/) and frozen ones at picard! Bagelstein is also a good option! they are everywhere x)
can you put subtitles on this and the 5 ish videos before this one! I love your subtitled content and want to enjoy you in pairs (I know nothing about your time in pairs due to lack of subtitles).
I live in Paris and I confirm, bagels are not a thing here. I wish there were to try ( because that look very good) but no we don't have this a lot or not a lot of choice😅.
Hi Jack I wonder if you have ever read I’ll Never be Young Again by Daphne Du Maurier? It is about a boy called Richard whose family was rich and how he feels confined in the walls of their mansion. He runs away from England to France and starts to live as he likes but his road was bumpy and he was a spoiled child who grew up to be a spoiled brat. I was reminded of this book when I saw the cafe you were sitting in because so many settings in the book are like that.

Jack in Paris is just such a vibe. And him in french class is just so hilarious. I’m here for it.
Jack saying that ‘Tense’ is the right word because it’s ‘In-TENSE’. The man never misses.
P.S. I get my tenses mixed up all the time. So you’re not alone.
I love how Jack just talks to use like we are his long lost friends, and I for one quiet enjoy it!

Bagel Baget Café (91 Rue de la Verrerie) has some of the best bagels I've ever had! I really recommend it if you want to eat bagels in Paris 😊
