Since you asked in part 2, the vault songs were all written during the development of the original albums but just not released for one reason or another. She added them to the re-recordings to give fans a bonus for buying an album they might already own.
52:27 she has a habit of putting a happy ass upbeat song as track 6😂😂😂wait for Red TV lmaoooo the tracklisting of 5 into 6 is so rude of her😂like ma’am, I wasn’t done crying, why are you trying to make me dance ???
I think she regrets a lot of speak now LOL. Also she reportedly doesn’t like picture to burn 😭 a fan asked her to play it on the red tour I think and she literally said no 💀
the only reason she was able to re-record all her albums was because she was the primary songwriter. this project wasn’t to make her old work better (the re-records are as close to the original as possible), it was so she could own the songs she wrote.
Taylor's Versions' intent and purpose is ownership , Taylor tried her absolute best with her team to re-record songs as closely as legally possible to the originals. Except for one or three cases where she intentionally changed some of the intrumental and/or lyricals. Anyhting thing else is little production tweeks and more clear sound from them being re-recorded with better technology. Also she takes a lot of care with theses re-recordings. It's about ownership, but it's her work and it became a passion project for her.
I'm fuckin loving this guys....i cannot wait fot you to reach till ttpd after so many genre changes in the journey through her discography and i wanna see his reactions to All too well short film, her music vidoes and so many stuff...by the end of the series you will adore her more than you do now
“Change” wasn’t written for the Olympics. Just used for things like that later on because of how empowering it was. Taylor said she wrote it about her record label Big Machine, because it was such a small record label at the time… and this was her fighting for such a small label to be heard. She was the first and only artist signed to it, but then after her insane success, they signed every major country artist to their roster- and if you don’t know this is the same label that would then go on to sell all of her masters to Scooter 12 years later.. even though she asked to buy all her albums. She was told by Scott Borchetta(head of Big Machine) that she could buy all 6 of her albums under 1 condition.. she stayed signed with his record label and for every new album she put out with him she could buy one of her older albums. She said FUCK THAT… and signed with Republic under the agreement that she would own every single thing she put out. I’m rambling sorry. I’m just super passionate about Taylor. One other thing to know is Scooter was already her enemy and was so mean to her, so she couldn’t believe that it was him that Scott sold her music to. After Scooter bought the rights to Taylor’s music he posted that he “owned her” and she simply said I’m not going down without a fight.. so she decided to re-record her first 6 albums so that she could own them and she decided to put Vault Tracks on each album- which were tracks that didn’t make the original albums for whatever reason, but she still wanted them to be heard. Just a heads up there’s so much lore… i know you’re only on album 2 so you don’t need this now.. but folklore is an album that has a coveted TRACK FIVE that deals with all of the drama of her work being taken away from her. Okay I’m Justin and I’ll stop talking. Sorry I missed when you were live because I’m working overtime trying to survive in Nashville, so I’m watching this at 2am… and yes 2AM is a Taylor thing that reoccurs. 😉
I literally thought that Change was, for lack of a better term, “an Obama song” lol I swear I specifically remember some Obama campaign/election related stuff and Change being intertwined back in 2008 but apparently this was just my brain creating a personal Mandela effect just to mess with me lol. 😂
A small correction regarding track 5s, they aren't necessarily Taylor's most emotional tracks. They *can* be the saddest or most devastating, but a better way to categorise them is calling them Taylor's most vulnerable tracks, with Track 6s typically being a pick up point.
I will always, always hold this album close to my heart. I absolutely adored it upon release and it got me through some really tough times honestly. This is the only Vinyl I currently own, and I immediately pre-ordered it when the re-recording dropped. It came giftwrapped with confetti and I cried.
This album is a re-record not remake. It is meant to be as close to the original as possible. The only reason these Taylor’s versions exist is because of a dispute with the her former record label Big machine, and in that dispute the label look control of her first 6 albums because she was leaving for a new label, and when she tried to buy them back, they refused to sell. Taylor does not have the rights to the masters or the studio recordings and therefore cannot collect royalties from it, but she is the writer of the songs and owns the lyrics, melodies and everything else about the song except the studio recordings, and so legally speaking, she has every right to remake the songs and have them sound similar if not the same. Also fans will support the artist. The second this album dropped, the OG tanked in sales. We are now just waiting for the debut and reputation re-recordings, and with the re-recordings there are vault tracks, which are songs that were meant to be on the OG album but didn’t make the cut and she thought she would put them in the next album but never did, so she is taking the opportunity to record those, and from that we got I Can See You and Electric Touch, some of my personal favourite vault tracks off Speak Now TV and All Too Well off Red TV, another personal favourite song not just in terms of vaults tracks.
I dont think she regrets the songs - more like she acknowledges that they're a snapshot of how she felt in a particular moment, and she may feel differently now. That said there is one song on Speak Now where she changed a lyric slightly
just wanted to say as a note since i feel like it might’ve been something you were wondering during debut, but just in case for reference, Taylor has written on every song in her main eleven album discography! of course, there are a handful of co writers throughout in different eras but every song has and usually is mainly her writing and ideas. she also self-wrote the entirety of the next album Speak Now herself, as a response to critics thinking that she didnt write her own songs. and she self wrote a lot of songs on this album and the album Red after Speak Now too! the one exception was Untouchable on this album, the Luna Halo cover

Question, Jerry: since you're listening to her discography in order and in Taylor's Version, will you also react to the concerts for each album? So you can get a complete look into her as an artist and performer. Just wondering here.
@@yvetterodriguez2550probably not for this series. As an "album guy" I figured I'd get to know Taylor the way I get to know all the other acts I listen to/follow. Nothing's impossible though 👀
While I understand how Breathe reads as a break up song, she actually wrote it about a band member and close friend. She left the band to pursue a career in law
So taylor and joe Jonas ended up being friends for a very long time. He went on to date one of her friends and they even vacationed together. He then dated and married Sophie turner who is a big Taylor fan and they kinda were part of her new squad and went to her events and supported her backstage. She even wrote about how nice it is to move on to a point where she was buying his kids birthday presents in one of her songs. When Mr Perfectly Fine was released in 2021, Sophie had a perfect response on social media “well, it’s not NOT a bop”. With Joe in the background, so it was ok. He had written a song back then about Taylor and even changed the lyrics over time to make it a nice song rather than a diss. Then, he and Sophie had a nasty divorce and we don’t know what happened but Sophie stayed in Taylor’s condo in NYC while she and Joe were working through the divorce and she attended some Chiefs games with Taylor.
@@placeholder325 it's fun cause GENERALLY men hate Taylor Swift, just for being a woman and successful, and when i say funny i meant that i love it cause it's good, and i had a good time watching it
To answer the question in 2:33:00, nope. She was asked it. Her response was "No, cause you don't write a song about them unless you're sure you don't wanna meet them anymore." or something like that. BUT! She did some changes in the song better than revenge. But you'll find out that later. :D She didn't regret it. She just said, she would do it in different way.
I think in that instance it was more like the regret Paramore had with Misery Business. At the time it was common in media for women to be fighting over the man and it was all cat fights. So she regrets being caught up in that I guess. She simply felt more mature about it in later years which is understandable.
So funny you mentioned pop-punk on the second song because let me tell you about Swemos! Hahaha pop-punk and emo fans who love Taylor. There are SO many pop punk covers of Taylor songs because they fit so well in the genre.
2am is actually reoccurring, it’s always night with Tay😂 She has an album called MIDNIGHTS, she’s just a night owl❤ 1:25:53 first for your info: the song is in the music style of Jonas Brothers songs back then! Also, yeah and Joe Jonas said more things😂 1:29:52 it’s so funny how you say this during a Joe Jonas song, because good older brother Kevin Jonas met his wife at vacation when the band wasn’t big yet and She’s been there for everything in the past like 19 years?? And then there’s Joe & Nick who dated a lot😂
fun fact: the tradition of track 5s being v emotional and deep wasn’t intentional, it wasn’t until fans pointed it out a few albums later that taylor began to intentionally tracklist the sad songs at #5
It’s not letting me comment on the other video.. but thanks for the great reaction Jerry !! A few thing to know for speak now TV: Back to December is Taylor apologizing to Taylor Lautner for breaking up with him… when she says” and you held me in your arms that September night the first time you ever saw me cry” is in reference to when Kanye grabbed the mic from her at the VMAs when she won video of the year for you belong with me. Innocent is about her forgiving, Kanye…for now lol Better than revenge is about Joe Jonas and this girl Camila Belle, who at the time Taylor thought “stole Joe” and she changed one of the lyrics in the song because it was a little bit slut shame y. The old line was “she’s better known for the things that she does on the mattress” and she changed it to “He was a moth to the flame,She was holding the matches. “ Also, dear John is about John Mayer who dated her when she was 19 and he was 32 🤢 This was definitely a big relationship in her life that changed things for her. Sorry for the info dump or if any of this is considered spoilers, but I thought it would be helpful Going into the album…
Gotta jump on board on this journey with u! Expect a lot of middle of the night references through her discography until u reach the Midnights album 😂😂😂 then ull get the lore of it all 🙏🏻
getting further into the reaction and after your points about enjoying an album that's more diverse in its topics, i feel even more excited for you to get to speak now. i think it's by far the most topically diverse album in her discography. there's relationships and love of course, but there's also interpersonal non-romantic conflict, media and industry commentary, family dynamics, and fan connections. i also think that, of the songs, the songs that *do* touch on love and romance are a lot more diverse in how they explore those feelings, and a person's interpretation of the songs can easily be applied to scenarios outside of romantic relationships, very much like how tell me why explores the anger and defiance against an abusive person, and those feelings work for a romantic partner, but perhaps also a cruel friend or abusive parent. speak now has a ton of songs that have that same kind of flexibility to their interpretation, and allow you to think about them beyond just the surface romantic elements. also, some prelude for innocent: everyone and their mother is going to comment about it being a response to the 2009 vma incident where kanye took the mic from her, and she has very much alluded to that being the case, but i find that way too many people whittle that song down to just that element and miss the fact that, at its core, it's an EXTREMELY beautiful song about healing and growth that can, once again, be applied to a million scenarios outside of the one it was written for, and so many people miss the forest for the trees with that one. i'm very excited to see how you feel about that one.
I see you have an Alphonse Mucha print in the back. I love his art and also have a huge print of his work in my apartment. Just wanted to congratulate you on your great taste ☺️ Also, I'm a Taylor Swift fan (even went to one of her concerts in Germany), so I'm definitely biased in her favors.
was listening to the white horse reaction and heard you mention dirty dom & rhea and you got a sub just for that, the random ways we find wrestling fans
Another banger, real rockers are open minded about music. She tried to make the TV versions as similar as possible as the original so people don't listen to the old ones. Hot take: While Fearless TV and Speak Now TV are better than the originals, the Max Martin songs in the og RED and 1989 are a LOT better than the re-records by Christopher Rowe. PS: For the rockers there's a Crossroads DVD were Taylor does a live concert with Def Leppard. They played some of their biggest hits like Hysteria and Pour Some Sugar On Me and some Taylor songs from her debut album and Fearless. My favorite is their version of When Love And Hate Collides.
Another thing I wanna point out. The cool thing about these rerecordings. It’s interesting to go back and see how much your own opinion on dating and life has changed. Cause I haven’t listened to a lot of these songs in a long time. Also makes it that much more mind blowing she did all this as a teenager. It’s wildly impressive.
I am a 57 yo Mom from Kansas City who had vague knowledge of TS prior to last fall. I learned ALL the lore through you tube reactors and helpful swifties. I’ve seen the documentaries and concert movies. I love the irony of the lyrics in 15. I hope that this smart, creative, independent woman will find happiness with the boy on the football team at 34. ❤
I heard you read a comment that said they thought Fearless (Taylor’s Version) had the most care in making it sound like the original, but I want to disagree. I honestly really think that it was just the easiest. It sounds most like the original because it was the oldest one with the least complicated production and could really only get better. With the other 3 (Taylor’s Version)s we’ve heard, there were some elements that couldn’t sound exactly the same or better no matter how hard they cared or tried.
i think you should do taylors versions in two parts, the original end of the album and then deluxe/vault tracks in streams otherwise its serious ear fatigue
to answer the regrets question - she regrets her song called better than revenge. its on the next album speak now, and kinda self explanatory lol. She apologised for it, didnt sing it live for he longest time and finally changed a lyric frm it during the re recording.
@@RVDinator thank you, hehe. a shame the live chat is unavailable😭😭 edit: i fear the experience with this will lower his perception off Fearless, which will be a shame
I have many notes, I’m sad I missed the live chat. I apologize in advance for the length of this comment. -I’m now convinced Fearless Taylor’s Version should have been titled, “even less fear than in 2008”, or at least should have had that tag line somewhere within the rollout. - yes, the drums. The drums are kickin’, and live is even better. I’m a sucker for some good drums. - I’m sure I’ll be back with more, but sitting here with this comment written but not posted is stressing me out lol.
- Your use of the phrase “cute as all get out”, plus your taste in music (based just on bands/artists you’ve mentioned in this video and the last one), plus your general lack of any noticeable regional accent (though maybe I just haven’t heard you talk enough yet) tells me you’re from….maybe Ohio? (Or possibly Wisconsin, or maybe even Pennsylvania…but my final answer is Ohio).
Well you're in luck because I'm going live tonight! You can chat to your heart's desire. Also, I'm a little scared that you figured out that I'm in Ohioian 👀
@@JerryBees oh cool, I’ll try to make it. I have the notifications for your channel turned on now so hopefully I don’t miss it. Also…are you kidding me? You mentioned Drew Carey like 13 times over the course of 2 hours which is….I mean…there’s simply no other explanation lol 😂 (I actually didn’t even factor this in though, but after I had sent the comment asking if you were from Ohio you mentioned Drew Carey again and I was like…oh, duh. 🙄 lol 😂 )
Hey just two quick suggestions...when you check out speak now (taylor's version) album, which is solo-wrote when she was 19...maybe read the chat before and after listening to an entire song so that you don't miss any lyrics bcoz speak now is one of the lyrically stronger albums, especially when compared to the previous two. Also, I think many swifties would agree with me when I say that you should specific check out the original 2010 version of 'Better Than Revenge', which is way more superior due to a lyric change over the Taylor's version.
The many rain, throwing pebbles, etc references are because this album is very much about growing up and realizing love isn’t like movies or fairy tales that were spoon fed as little girls. Those movie moments don’t really happen in real life so she’s pining for them quite a bit.
I thought the same thing. I don’t judge her dating life, but I’ve noticed she always dates celebrities. Might be because she thinks they’ll be more understanding of her life? Idk 🤷🏻♀️ hopefully things go well with trav. Plus, I think we’ve all got a lengthy list of celebs we would date if given the chance. 😂

It’s not letting me comment on the other video.. but thanks for the great reaction Jerry !!
A few thing to know for speak now TV:
Back to December is Taylor apologizing to Taylor Lautner for breaking up with him… when she says” and you held me in your arms that September night the first time you ever saw me cry” is in reference to when Kanye grabbed the mic from her at the VMAs when she won video of the year for you belong with me.
Innocent is about her forgiving, Kanye…for now lol
Better than revenge is about Joe Jonas and this girl Camila Belle, who at the time Taylor thought “stole Joe” and she changed one of the lyrics in the song because it was a little bit slut shame y. The old line was “she’s better known for the things that she does on the mattress” and she changed it to “He was a moth to the flame,She was holding the matches.
“
Also, dear John is about John Mayer who dated her when she was 19 and he was 32 🤢 This was definitely a big relationship in her life that changed things for her.
Sorry for the info dump or if any of this is considered spoilers, but I thought it would be helpful Going into the album…
AND it’s her first Completely self written album!!
“Change” was just used for the Olympics, she didn’t write it for the Olympics.
Gotta jump on board on this journey with u! Expect a lot of middle of the night references through her discography until u reach the Midnights album 😂😂😂 then ull get the lore of it all 🙏🏻
Can't wait till you get to the pop albums, especially reputation... It's a massive jump in genre
ikr..he will choke on his water with the ready for it intro 😂😂
14:47 oh if you think the drums are kickass here, i am SO excited for you to get to some speak now songs
getting further into the reaction and after your points about enjoying an album that's more diverse in its topics, i feel even more excited for you to get to speak now. i think it's by far the most topically diverse album in her discography. there's relationships and love of course, but there's also interpersonal non-romantic conflict, media and industry commentary, family dynamics, and fan connections. i also think that, of the songs, the songs that *do* touch on love and romance are a lot more diverse in how they explore those feelings, and a person's interpretation of the songs can easily be applied to scenarios outside of romantic relationships, very much like how tell me why explores the anger and defiance against an abusive person, and those feelings work for a romantic partner, but perhaps also a cruel friend or abusive parent. speak now has a ton of songs that have that same kind of flexibility to their interpretation, and allow you to think about them beyond just the surface romantic elements.
also, some prelude for innocent: everyone and their mother is going to comment about it being a response to the 2009 vma incident where kanye took the mic from her, and she has very much alluded to that being the case, but i find that way too many people whittle that song down to just that element and miss the fact that, at its core, it's an EXTREMELY beautiful song about healing and growth that can, once again, be applied to a million scenarios outside of the one it was written for, and so many people miss the forest for the trees with that one. i'm very excited to see how you feel about that one.
Fearless was so big because it reintroduced the country genre to the younger generation when it was released! 🎉
Subscribed just for the taylor journey thank you so much 😊
I see you have an Alphonse Mucha print in the back. I love his art and also have a huge print of his work in my apartment. Just wanted to congratulate you on your great taste ☺️
Also, I'm a Taylor Swift fan (even went to one of her concerts in Germany), so I'm definitely biased in her favors.
she'll forgive but not forget is some foreshadowing to the ttpd albumn for sure my friend.
OMGGGG you should also react to the eras tour movie after listening to her discography. You would love that omg❤️
taylor's cover of phil collins i cant stop loving you was great!
I love that cover!
So good!
the new taylor swift reaction daddy in the market 😂❤
was listening to the white horse reaction and heard you mention dirty dom & rhea and you got a sub just for that, the random ways we find wrestling fans
I have Crossroads Taylor and Def Leppard on dvd! it was actually very formative to my upbringing
Change was not for the Olympics, it was for her team and label at the time
December babies like Taylor usually don’t start until the fall AFTER they turn 5. Hence she would have been 15.
Not TH-cam going from The Best Day straight to Sl*t 😂
The word you were looking for during "Fifteen" was 'prescient'.
Fun fact: Love Story is the only song she sang in every night of every concert she did after since it got released...
Haven’t really gotten far into the video yet, but wanted to say - your hair is glorious
Thank you!!!!! He was well behaved during this stream.
Dude really love ur reactions. As a straight swiftie. You'll really like reputation, folklore and midnights TOOOO GOOD
You should wear that twilight shirt again when you do speak now since some of it is about Jacob 🤗
Please react to Speak Now (Taylor's Version) next. It's a poprock-country album and it's the next album after Fearless 💜
Huge Loretta Lyn fan, remember Swifties come in all age brackets ❤
come in with the rain is my favvv!!
great great reaction! i love that u pay attention to music and lyrics!
The stops during the Fearless bridge 🥲🥲🥲🥲
The poor bridges man.
I heard you read a comment that said they thought Fearless (Taylor’s Version) had the most care in making it sound like the original, but I want to disagree. I honestly really think that it was just the easiest. It sounds most like the original because it was the oldest one with the least complicated production and could really only get better. With the other 3 (Taylor’s Version)s we’ve heard, there were some elements that couldn’t sound exactly the same or better no matter how hard they cared or tried.
the two versions of forever & always on this album and state of grace on red imo show the duality of her songs
yes, after the sad, emotional songs of track 5's, track 6 is always an upbeat song😭😂
PLS, DO IF THIS WAS A MOVIE 😭😭😭😭😭
Please! This song is getting so slept on during the re recording process
The number of AMV's i created in my head to Change in 2008 🙈
I told my uncle you love Wilco. He produces for them!
HE DIDN'T DO IF THIS WAS A MOVIE???? NOOO 😭
he might do it in speak now
Hopefully we can get that for speak now since that's where the song orginally belongs
Next time I swear!
@@ariannacandelaria2997 PLSSSSS
@@JerryBees use "I fear" instead of I swear, u need to learn floptok terms dzaddy
This was so well done as a remake (but I do miss baby Taylor's voice on some tracks)
“The Way I Loved You” was basically Taylor telling us real early on about her Matty Healy phase…
I also thought the Benson Boone thing but didn't know if you didn't like him and I didn't want to offend
She regrets nothing... once she writes about you, she dont want you no more and thats perfectly fine
When you said guardians I was thinking guardians of the galaxy. 😂 I was like, hell yeah those movies and soundtrack’s are bad ass brother. Lol
i think you should do taylors versions in two parts, the original end of the album and then deluxe/vault tracks in streams otherwise its serious ear fatigue
To comment on her saying Easy differently in You Belong with Me.. Im that way with her saying Romeo in Love Story
imagine how long these vids are gunna get when he gets to red and ttpd. those 30+ songs finna have him in his seat for hourssss
Certified Swiftie here! If you want a full rundown of the albums before you listen lmk lol!! Having context makes them so much better!!!!
the t-shirt? i’m inlove.
There's a song on the jonas brothers album lines, vines and trying times called much better that has a "teardrops on my guitar" line.
The shirt reminds me of SNL twilight parody where Taylor is Bella HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
Come on with the rain still makes me think of my yellow budgie who got out of her cage and flew away in like 2013😭
oat soda? i’m intrigued
to answer the regrets question - she regrets her song called better than revenge. its on the next album speak now, and kinda self explanatory lol. She apologised for it, didnt sing it live for he longest time and finally changed a lyric frm it during the re recording.
That tight end joke took me out
It was so close to That's When, my fave😫
He's back on live right now.
@@RVDinator thank you, hehe. a shame the live chat is unavailable😭😭
edit: i fear the experience with this will lower his perception off Fearless, which will be a shame
THAT'S WHEN, WHEN I WAKE UP IN THE MORNIN, THATS WHEN, WHEN ITS SUNNY OR STORMING, THAAAAAATS WHEN IM CRYYYYYYYINGGG
@@jessethecomet THAT'S WHEN I MISS YOU!!! THAT'S WHEN I WANT YOU!! THAT'S WHEN I LOVED YOU~ THAT'S WHEN!
I feel like Change walked so Long Live could run
Is this reacting to Taylor Swift or reacting to chat?
I'm sorry I didn't get to see the live stream.
Edit: let me know when your next live stream is
I have many notes, I’m sad I missed the live chat.
- The fact that you said Tell Me Why is S Tier tells me you’re gonna like Speak Now, I’m pretty excited to see that reaction.
You mentioned Drew Carey like 13 times over the course of 2 hours which is….I mean…there’s simply no other explanation lol 😂
(I actually didn’t even factor this in though, but after I had sent the comment asking if you were from Ohio you mentioned Drew Carey again and I was like…oh, duh. 🙄 lol 😂 )
Highly recommend listening to Benson Boone!
Waiting for timestamp🤭
It's up now as the pinned comment!
Straight white male 😮
Lil bit fruity with that super red lips
Those movie moments don’t really happen in real life so she’s pining for them quite a bit.
taylor swift was also in the lorax
I thought the same thing. I don’t judge her dating life, but I’ve noticed she always dates celebrities. Might be because she thinks they’ll be more understanding of her life? Idk 🤷🏻♀️ hopefully things go well with trav. Plus, I think we’ve all got a lengthy list of celebs we would date if given the chance. 😂
The part two says it’s made for kids so we can’t comment
Sophie Turner walked around with a friendship bracelet for "Mr Perfectly Fine" on her wrist, while Joe Jonas was divorcing her through the papers.
He's an abusive asshole.
She gets way better tbh
Are your lives notified before they happen? I would like to be on while the lives happen if there's some way to know beforehand
You’ll learn over all these albums that Taylor is basically nocturnal. lol
I got that red lip classic thing that you like
