The L2K is one of my very favorite pens. Never want to be without it. It ticks all the boxes for me,snap-cap,smooth,well-tuned, gold nib, generous ink capacity/piston-filler,writing comfort, extreme durability; I love its understated, minimalist design. It's one pen that is actually worth the asking price imho. Thanks,Dan. All the best to you and Bill.
Not too dull at all. An interesting take on the Lamy 2000 and a fine example of those times we all have when we kind-of love a pen, but there's something a bit off about it. I have that with my Waterman Exception. I was so convinced this would be the pen of my dreams, and it's hard to admit that it's not. I want to think it's just that the nib is too broad for my tastes and I will probably get it ground much finer sometime, but part of me worries that will just be throwing good money after bad. What if I go to the trouble of doing that and find there's still something about the pen that fails to enrapture me? I haven't tried a Lamy 2000, but the reviews are all very positive.
Thanks Pamela. A hazard of the hobby, sometimes things just don't fit, for whatever reason. My issue is the opposite of yours this time. The nib is fantastic, the pen just doesn't really slot in my comfort zone
Sold mines too, I had it in “B” and it wasn’t as stub like as I was hoping, I will re buy it someday in “F or EF” love the pen. So many other pens, M1000 and maybe a Bronze Age first.
The opposite was true for me, I loved the nib bit the pen just didn't really fit my hand. Luckily, I found it a good home with someone who appreciates it.
That "byeeeeeee" at the end LOL!!! I'm sorry it doesn't fit your hand pretty well. I've had to let go of a few of my Sailor PGS because they were just too small and didn't feel great in my hands. I've let go of pens because they weren't pretty enough for me, they didn't fit well in my hands, or the nib wasn't something I enjoyed. I don't have a single reason across all pens that made me let them go, so if this pen doesn't feel great in your hands, that alone can be enough for you to let it go. The nib writes amazing yes, and it's probably unique enough that you can't get the exact same experience from another nib, but if you don't want to hold it, what's the point of a great unique nib experience? :P Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. I, personally, love everything about it except the plain black model :)
It has now been passed on to a more loving home. You're right, just didn't fit for my personal feel, despite the excellent nib. I agree about the Pro Gear Slim too, I currently have one of those up for sale 😂
Hello, your video is very informative. I watched many videos about Lamy 2000, read many comments, and finally bought it from Amazon. But unfortunately I was disappointed. The general appearance of the pen appeals to me, there is no problem here. However, I bought an F nib and it was not as comfortable as I wanted. First of all, it had a hard writing that felt like steel rather than a gold nib, and the ink was very pale and dry, and there was almost no fluidity. I washed the palate of the pen a few times with warm water and mild pure soap, but the result did not change. .Instead of returning it, I sent it to the service because I trust the Lamy company. Let's see what the result will be???
I hear Lamy customer service is excellent, although I have not needed them myself. Their gold nibs are usually high quality, shame you had a poor experience
I had precisely the same feelings about my Lamy 2000 and in the end decided to sell it. It wrote fantastically well but just didn't feel totally comfortable in my hand and I found myself always gravitating to other pens. I get on much better with the cheaper Lamy pens: Safari, Studio.
I haven't held or written with a Lamy 2000 but it's the look of the thing that fails to capture my attention. It looks like a pen you'd see at Office Depot, selling for $19.99.

I completely agree, fantastic pen. Shame it just doesn't 'fit' for me. Thanks for watching!

Exactly that. I do have a Studio, which I like but don't use that much if I'm honest. Perhaps if I had a gold nib for it 🤔

I quite like the understatedness. Brilliantly put together pen, I wish it was a little girthier for my grip
