This is spot on - WWE 2K14 was elite and it was maybe the first and only time they nailed everything we wanted from weapons! Weapon moves, leaning tables wherever, any diving top rope finisher through a table...can't understand WHY they've removed all that from the modern games.
Its because THQ and the other developers were the ones who worked on 99% of the game, 2K got control of everything after, hence the shit show that was 2K15

I've been saying this to the blind fans, you can't even set up a table and a ladder at the same time in a TLC match (never mind setting up two tables at once). When you try to get inside the ring, you somehow knock the ladder down, also can't pick up objects which move towards the ropes, also the tables sometimes would get stuck in the ropes, I feel like it's a game breaking bug.

I’ve watched pretty much every episode of this series of things previous games did than the current one. I think the consensus is that everyone loves the graphics in 23. The games looks beautiful. But imagine we had ALLLLL the things that was removed from the old games + the graphics. That would be crazy
The feature I find very interesting in wwe2k14 is when you're able to grab a weapon from the crowd is cool, they should really bring that feature back in the next 2k games.
Slobber Knocker matches in wwe2k14 makes it similar to Gauntlet matches, I find this very interesting imo. They should've brought this feature back in WWE2K23 to be honest. At least you can set up Gauntlet matches in WWE2K23 by setting up custom matches, handicap, 1 on 3.
‘14 never ceases to amaze. Like I said before, in a perfect world we’d have this game with some HCTP mixed in, the classic Season modes, SVR modes like GM and road to Wrestlemania.

Haven't played 2k14 in forever but this video kinda refreshed my memory. And i feel like they had really no bad ideas in this game. Could be wrong i may just not remember the bad. But this game seems like it was almost perfect. I need to play it again. P.s. The fact that you cant have grapple koves with the chair anymore is super sad. Also
These features really do make it better than WWE2K23, it's a shame that they removed A LOT of these features from the past games. I wish they could add most of these features back into the new generational 2k games. Additionally, I think 2k should bring back these old features from the past WWE2k games.

To have more to do within matches.. it adds to replayability. Who cares if it’s not easy.. they make plenty of money. They can get it done.
2K14 is still the best wrestling game in my opinion. I still play it. You could download and add authentic custom entrance music to each wrestler. Unfortunately due to copyright issues players are no longer able to do that with wrestling games. 2K14 roster also had all the greats including the Legends. I had a hard time finding another wrestling game that was close to it, but I honestly have to say that 2K 22 came awfully close to it. I still enjoy playing that one as well. I just don't like the roster as much, but at least the create a wrestler has a hundred slots so I can find the wrestlers that I miss and download them.
I agree with you 1000%!! To date, every wrestling game is an embarrassment compared to 2k14. Not only was it already superior in every way, but through a mod, I was able to, not only unlock Foley, Piper & the Funkadactyles, but also, add real life renders for all 100 CAWS. Combined with the custom entrance music, and no download or logo limits, that's unbeatable. I have all the DLC, and a complete Impact roster from that period, along with custom arenas for all their pay per views. If I wan't Chris Benoit coming to the ring to 'Whatever', or Victoria to 'All The Things She Said', I'm damn well gonna have it, and if I a modern wrestling game won't give me that, then I'm never gonna be interested.

Some things you forgot 1 You can intreact with the fans by dragging the opponent to someone in the crown with a weapon and you will use his weapon to damage your opponent 2:custom crowd signs (this was on wwe 2k17 on last gen so should be on wwe 2k14) (There is a bit more as well)
2k14 developers are more advance, I think they all retired from their job and new lazy developers joined their company, they only improved graphics. Not the advancement of the game.
2k23 had such a good opportunity to bring its own version of beat the streak and it be called Super Cena mode where you pick a wrestler and a ppv or a WrestleMania and face Cena and they could've gave us the super powers Cena uses

That's true. If you stick the AI on hard and the toggle for not kicking out at 1 it's incredibly challenging unlike any other WWE game i've ever played. ...besides the Streak mode in 2k14. Geezus Taker was ridiculous.
i really don't understand why they removed features? it took time to develop so why remove? i still get mad not able to play ladder wherever I want (you can only place them in specific locations) which we were able to do in early games, it made us do crazy combinations

For the record these are 360 and PS3 versions of 2k14 that have all these great features. That version is completely different from the one released on PS4 and Xbox One.
The top 2 of the many things I missed doing was getting the mat a bit bloodied during a match in 2k14 and getting to use the weapons in many different ways. I really wished we had some of the mechanics from 2k14 and 19 in 2k23. Oh and It would have been cool if they brought back the lumber jack match.

Although overall 2K14 still a better game, I feel from the mess we got in 2K20 for them having to essentially rebrand themselves and start a new legacy from 22. I’m excited to see the future of 2K next year and on if they arent complacent in approach it like they have something to prove like they have since 2K20 we are nearing to eventually get possibly the greatest wrestling game ever.

WWE 2k23 feels arcadey. It is really fun and I think they should add more extreme stuff. Like diving finisher off Chamber pods, injury, ambulance match type of stuff.
Blood drip, royal rumble double elimination, tables, ladders and chairs (oh my), steel steps. So many fundamental gameplay mechanics missing. Can’t even actually re-create Edge versus Finn Bálor’s ending because you can’t do a conchairto.
Only problems with 2k14 for me is that A: Sound mixing wasn't as good since punches feel rather lackluster and B: The AI became very predictable even on the highest setting. Every forth move there is an automatic counter thrown in there which feels artificial.

From 2K15 to 2K23 its allways the same game with nothing new okay 2K23 is a lot more fun than 2K15 - 2K22 but still not even close to 2K14 ! Most of these things that are missing in 2k23 are things that weren't in great games such as Smackdown vs Raw 2007.

Only problems with 2k14 for me is that A: Sound mixing wasn't as good since punches feel rather lackluster and B: The AI became very predictable even on the highest setting.
Every forth move there is an automatic counter thrown in there which feels artificial.
They fact that Jerry the king Lawler is on commentary is more than enough

I don’t know how they made their game worse over the years then getting better being able to stack tables in 2k23. Would be awesome

I've been saying it for years man 2k14 is the best 2K game out there !
From 2K15 to 2K23 its allways the same game with nothing new okay 2K23 is a lot more fun than 2K15 - 2K22 but still not even close to 2K14 !

2K14 was a THQ game that had to be renamed because they went bankrupt, 2K had nothing to do with 2K14 other than the name. THQ also actually cares about making a great game while 2K will just target monetisation so it's no wonder that 2K14 still beats any crap from 2K15-2K23
