We need to see more of Rainbow, but from initial appearances, Sardonyx seems more extroverted for an audience, when she is in front of Steven or Smokey she is "on" and puts on a show, where as from the time we saw Sardonyx occur in a private setting, in the ship prison, Sardonyx was all business with little flash. Rainbow on the other hand seems self extroverted, I don't think he was putting on a show for Amethyst, he was putting on a show for himself, which is a very Steven thing to do.
That's just my gut reaction to the similarities between the two. It's similar but different.
Sardonyx is graceful and elegant but loves fame and attention. Not as goofy as rainbow quartz 2.0 bc it's Garnet and Pearl but she's she's jokester and entertainer from Pearl's personality and the poised, elegant and stern side is also Garnet
kinda of obsessed with how Pearl's and Steven's personalities...

This fusion is rly special. I have a feeling that pearl rly wanted to recreate rainbow for a very long time. You could sense her excitement when she realised she fused with steven.
@l I know. It's sad. Garnet is a fusion and her thing IS fusion because she got happy when she saw a Rhodonite fusion, so I'm surprised she didn't get all excited because I'm pretty sure at one point she was worried that steven wasn't going to be able to fuse because of his organic side. I'm just going to pass it off that they were in the middle of battle and she didn't have time to be excited about fusing into sunstone.

It always seemed to me that garnet was the one who wanted to fuse with steven the most, so it feels kind of weird that she didnt even give steven a smile to show how proud she is or something like that and just said that they needed to get bigger

In my head I referred to Rainbow quartz 2.0 and Sunstone as both male. I'm not sure why it was just first instinct when I met them❤
I ADORE RQ 2.0. I thought the fusion was PERFECT for them. Pearl sometimes exhibits slightly masculine traits and Steven sometimes exhibits more feminine. The cute little hand to chest gesture when they saw Ruby and Sapphire falling just felt like both of them shining through. Pearl in a more refined like "oh no" and Steven in a dramatic "oh dear, trouble!"

I might be a bit odd, but to me, I see Rainbow Quartz 2.0 and I think of them as a wonderful new character and an amazing combination of Steven and Pearl's best. When I first saw the episode I was just in total glee of seeing them in action, but I didn't put any sort of labels on them to their character type. I see a bunch of comments here and on Twitter about 2.0 being Gay or Trans representation, but I didn't see that at all. I just saw them as a fun character and fusion. I think that speaks to how well Rebecca and the Crewniverse wrote them. I don't see something that blatantly screams representation, but just a person.

InlustriusGhost same here, though like how the video says, that it's up to interpretations on how they be referred to, so I'm going to refer to Rainbow Quartz 2.0 as Agender, since it just feels like a really nice character both nicely masculine and female, leaving me to refer to them as Agender since I can't really see that fusion referring to themselves with just one gender

It’s stupid. Yes, it’s important to show one’s support for what people stand for and believe in, but there’s a limit. It almost feels like we’re getting it shoved down our throats. Like, come on! You can’t make EVERYTHING about LGBT+! At good times with a good amount, yes. But not like this. It’s what makes non-supporters completely hate us. :(
idk why ppl are so hung up on their voice being more masculine. steven is a boy so it would make sense that at least one of his fusions would have some of his characteristics
blegghhh I think rainbow quartz has always kind of been more rose/pink so I think it makes sense that they have a more Steven ish fusion even though there is a ton of pearl there too

Are you talking about when Steven pulled Garnet (Ruby&Sapphire) out of Stasis/Her Gem/They're Gem and fused with them.
Opal and garnet were poofed, then steven brought them out of their gems as sunstone, smokey quartz and rainbow quartz respectively
@@sativadaddy1943 Yes. Everyone was fused when they were poofed in Together Alone including Garnet. We've never really seen Ruby and Sapphire reform separately yet. I just wonder if Ruby and Sapphire would reform as Garnet if they were placed right next to each other since Garnet stays fused after unfusing with someone else.

I think Pearl has more control in Opal than Amethyst since she's always overbearing on her.
Maybe Opal doesn't have one because Pearl and Amethyst are so different in terms of personality that they cancel eachother out upon fusing 😂

This is because Opal (as well as Sugalite) are voiced by celebrities.
Meaning it is more expensive to bring them in to record, which kinda sucks.
@@KanaTokisho Sugilite has plenty of personality though. It has less to do with that and more with personality combinations. Sugilite takes two extremes of Garnet & Amethyst, while Opal takes two contrasting personalities and makes a balanced fusion

Rainbow Quartz 2.0 is a wonderful being regardless of pronouns or gender identity, and they also need more screen time.

Have to agree with you. A lot (or a number) of people think that non-binary only go with they/them pronouns, but they can use she or he pronouns as well if they wanted to. Pidge’s voice actor (from Netflix’s Voltron) goes with they/them or she/her.

The controlled float is Steven's power, but the fact that Rainbow does it with such ease, precision, and control (to the point of flight) is Pearl's power.
Also "That's two stones, with one bird" Is a TERRIBLE JOKE that's actually rather cleverly based off an extremely common idiom. Steven+Pearl intellect/personality
I really like RQ2 being more masculine compared to many of the other fusions. For one, it marks a huge difference between them and the form of Rose and Pearl. Gender and pronouns aside for the time being, this could be the first male gem fusion ever, since Stevonnie uses we and us, and Smokey Quartz seems more feminine.

for some reason rainbow quartz 2.0 felt like a mix of Marry Poppins and Kiki from Kiki's delivery service
We have Pearl's protective,practical and perfectionist personality with steven's whimsical and friendly nature.
He's so cool! RQ 2.0 is my new favorite fusion. The Mary Poppins vibe with the voice is such a fun combination. I hope we get to see more of him in the future.

rainbow quartz 2.0 really gives out so much of pearls inside personality, as you wouldn’t ever expect something that includes pearl to become like this (don’t take me wrong, i love this so frickin much)
When I first heard rainbow quartz 2.0s voice my reaction was instantly... "HE has an accent!?" I wasn't really thinking about gender, but now people are pointing it out and I'm starting to see the shocking surprise, I'm still more interested about the voice then gender, and rainbow quartz just became one of my favorites, along with garnet and along with the fusion with Pearl and Amethyst and along with the fusion with pearl and Garnet, fusions that involve Pearl are always beautiful, I don't know how they do it but they do

I don't think they meant masculine as in super manly. I think they meant it's more masculine than the usually feminine voices given to Steven's fusions. Even if it really sounds like a feminine man, it's more masculine than the very feminine voices everyone else gets.
