The Eclipse is the model we are researching. We also noticed the cheap-looking knobs on the exterior doors. Thanks for a good, honest review. Things to think about.
It’s so helpful that you’re in Arizona too - thank you for a useful video. Reiterating how much I appreciate that you reviewed questions I have being AZ…
We have always tent camped and back in 2020 we did a big out West 6000 mile trip. We now have a 2024 Sol Horizon Rover. I have upgraded to lithium and large inverter/charger with 400 watts of camper mounted solar and 400 watts of portable solar panels. We are so looking forward to our first big trip out West. We love the quality and layout of the trailer...
I love this video so much....not just for an accurate review of how it really is in the trailer, but you guys are a real couple talking the way real couples talk....my S.O. and I talk over each other, too :) Watching Cheryl try and get out of the bed made me laugh so hard....
Thanks for the great videos. We just picked up our new Horizon . We think the blue item in the refrigerator is to scrape ice buildup on the cooling element.
They need to switch to the newer acrylic dual-pane awning style windows. Easy to open and lock in place. They also incorporate the day-night shades; more of a built-in clean look
thanks for sharing. We own an Oliver going on 4 years. We have a king bed, but ended up making it two singles because of the same problem you were having. We don’t full time, but do camp 4+ month away from the snow sometimes. I like your SOL because it has the large window, the aluminum framework and outside kitchen and the larger shower. And you get a lot of room with not too much weight. Appreciate your effort and discussion!
Thanks for the vides! Very helpful. I'm hoping to get one if these in March and you are the only real review I've been able to find. (I'm also a Tesla model 3 driver, so it must be a sign ;-) I'm curious to hear more about your solar set-up.
Well..I have 250Watt panels on the roof, and an Battlebourne Lithium battery (1). Seems to keep everything running all night so far. Search the topic on FB Sol group. I know there is much better information "how to" there....I am not good with electric stuff:) Had the dealer install mine.
Cleaning out your black tank camping world has a wand with a head that spins hooks to a water hose put it down the toilet. I use when my Black Tank sensors are not reading correctly. Does a real good job of cleaning the tank.
What is the purpose of black tank sensors. I read the complaints that many RVers have with them. Neer needed them. We have a 12 year old Casita with no sensors. Switch to a composting toilet. This solves the black tank issue as well as other bath issues.
We have a 2020 and the bottom drawers and kitchen doors open fine over our rug. Intech must have changed that between yours and ours. We also agree that the single pane windows are pretty on the outside, but we aren't a fan of the two handed operation. The bedroom windows are also reconfigured so they are usable with pillows! Love your videos - thanks for posting and sharing!
H G, good to hear. I know Intech listens to what we all say about their RV's. Our next videos will be more about the places we go, and things we can do in these weird times:)
In our T@b 400 we have a similar bed set up except I like our window on the back wall far better and there are no windows head and foot. At any rate, when my husband needs to get up in the night, he wakes me and I get up too. No crawling over each other. Works for us! 🙂
Hi thank you for the video! We are actually thinking of buy one sol horizons and we are living in AZ too! Love to see more videos about this RV, and Bear down!
Ok pro tip, dump 3 bags of ice down the toilet with a 1/4 full tank and drive it around. The ice will clean the sides of the tank. 😋. Makes it so easy.
Hey y'all! Thanks so much for all your videos! I've been seriously considering getting a Sol Horizon for the last year or so, and all your videos have been quite helpful.
I went to the factory and took a tour agree the grey black together not good plus I wanted a dual axle trailer bought the Winnebago micro mini 1808. Having the dual axle gave me more comfort towing I would be safer in case of a blow out. You on your third axle make me think One axle not handling the load. I love the window and seat area in the sol but was not a fan of the wood product used in the floor about the time you bought yours.
Luc, it is a lot better than the Mini-Max we had. We’ve been in the low 20° and with just a portable ceramic heater...stayed in the 60’s. AC...just loud, but will freeze you out:).
@@sputter_RVrs Glad to hear you say that. I'm looking for something that can handle trips from NC to Massachusetts for Christmas. I've heard folks complain about lack of insulation in the floor, but that seems easy to fix with a throw rug. Thanks for the review!
Too bad about those old style slider windows hope they upgrade them to the acrylic double pane awning style with the integrated shade and screens, we have them in our Tada camper and love them, if they do the Terra will be our next camper PS this upgrade would probably shave off over 100 pounds , Full window opening for even better ventilation, Super stable shades and mosquito screen.
These outside plastic doors for water, rinse hose, etc. are ridiculous. I just sold a popular brand fiberglass trailer that was 11 years old. It had identical doors as your unit. They are obviously bought in bulk from one manuf. The small outside rinse hose is unnecessary generally. If you are hooked to city water get a dual spigot and a short garden hose . If not get something like a solar heated bag and hose. They have easy to use sprinkler hoses on them and can be hung anywhere in camp. It really irks me that a company like In Tech has made very good improvements in the RV industry but can't improve some of the things I've mentioned.
I live in a moderate winter state that can get into the teens. I winterize. But this year a plastic cut off water valve going to toilet cracked. Was it freezing weather or cheap plastic or both? Who knows? but I replaced itwith a brass/ pex valve for about $10.00. Casita was that so hard?
Thought about it!!! Would have to have the frame modified to accept the tow hitch....so probably won't. However I did run across a video on TH-cam of someone who has done it. You might want to search for it. It apparently does a great job!
Hi🙋🏽♀ My name is Judy and low and behold I believe I bought you all's Sol🤗😇🤠 I love it but I'm having some issues with the upgraded solar set up. I have researched and TH-camd to my wits end. I keep getting a b01 error on the Zamp Solar controller. Did you guys put the Victron inverter and the Lion lithium battery??? If so can you please help me figure out why it keeps saying error and seems not to be flowing or charging correctly😁? If not I live in Central California, could you tell me someone who might? Apologies...I have had the Lil Guy for about 9 months and I jus can't figure it out?!?!🙇🏽♀
Judy, sorry for the delay. We have been off here since losing one of our dogs. We had the solar all done at the dealer: "Tom's Camperland" Zack was who we dealt with. They are a really good dealer and their service was fairly good. The number for them is: 303-475-5553. I think that is Zack's direct cell number so you might have to look up Tom's Camperland for the service department.
Mar Sho, there is a layer on "GAIA MAPS" App that shows cell phone coverages. We use that to stay within an area that we can boost the signal to. We use a "We boost" for that.
Excellent video very helpful for future buyers! I am curious and worried about black and grey mix tank. the capacity is not that much too. 1. Since they are not separate grey and black. you cannot enjoy opening grey tank valve during full hook up campsite right? 2. If accidently you reach the capacity of grey water tank, does it mean the grey black mixed water will coming out of drains? 3. Will it stinks since it is not sealed from black water tank? Thank you!
Yeah, the bed thing. As I look at camping trailers for my wife and I when we retire in a few years, I cannot believe the prevalence of "east-west" beds. The idea of climbing over your spouse to get out of bed sounds like a serious inconvenience, as you mention in the video. Such beds are deal breakers for us. I just can't believe how they seem to be the standard bed in trailers in the 20ft range. All the builders need is to find an extra 15 inches or so (either within the trailer itself or by adding that to the length), rotate the bed 90 degrees and that 15 inches added to the common 60" bed width gets you 75" (6ft 3" bed) that will fit most people. Such a bed can either have narrow access along each side or have "crawl in from the foot of the bed" access, which, while not ideal, is head and shoulders better than the east-west configuration.
Hey. Luv y’alls videos and am purchasing an Intech camper in a couple of months. My question actually is: in another video you talked about working for a company that had just built a new building and the in March 2020 everyone went remote. Sounds like my exact situation where I work. I was curious if we worked for the same company. Ive been with my company for 14 years and got transferrred from Jax Florida when they closed the offices there.
We're trying to decide between the LG Max (not mini) and the Sol Horizon. Do u think one is much better than the other? Also what vehicle do u pull the Horizon with?
We had the Mini Max...the quality was just not what we expected. The Intech has very good finishes and is well built. And the resale value is higher. We pull ours now with a Ram 2500....way over kill!
I’m very concerned about the very small cargo carrying capacity. How do you manage with that limit? Are there any specific trade offs you’ve made to stay under the GVWR?
The only real option was to load our tow vehicle with most of the things we wanted to take with us. Another reason we switched to the Grand Design 17MKE
Thanks - you confirmed the exact work-around I was considering. I hadn’t seen your channel before so didn’t know you had moved on! Enjoy the GD. The InTech’s E-W bed would likely have been a deal-breaker too but might have been tolerable if not for the CCC problem. Two major compromises is one too many.
Just a thought- with all the videos you do a 'Sputter Rvs' magnetic sign that fits over you license plate might be something to think about? Hide your plate and advertise your site in one effort.
Are you using a weight distribution hitch with sway control on your Sol? In tech does not provide any recommendations and the aluminum tongue is a concern.
No distribution hitch, just the sway bar. It is enough with this little trailer. We make sure not to travel with any water. Seems the water is weighted towards the rear of the axles and if present, makes it porpoise more.
I really hope you see this comment. First thanks so much for your video. We went and looked at this model recently, and my husband loves this trailer. I have an issue with the luxury woven fabric for a flooring. Since it is a truly woven fabric (as in, I could move the weave with my nail easily) how do you clean up the floor if, for example, your dog gets sick. I saw the demo on TH-cam for cleaning it but they HOSED it off. I don’t see how you could clean up a really super bad accident and with dogs, you just never know. I was thinking a smooth texture flooring would be easier to sanitize after a bleachable moment! Can you tell me what you thought of the flooring?
We (My wife) dropped an entire bottle of red wine (Boondocking video) on the floor. We cleaned it up as much as we could. For a major clean up, we used a wet-vac and used a mild detergent and vacuumed the it up quickly...looked brand new. I loved the look of that material btw. Better than the new RV we have, as it is unique.
Hi I have enjoyed your videos thank you for the info, we bought a Sol Horizon yesterday! Question on the batteries, I wanted to switch out the batteries to lithium batteries..can you give me some advise on that. Can I just buy them on my own and plug them in? They are more expensive from the dealer..Can I put in 2 batteries..would love to know what your set up is? I will be boon docking and working from the trailer as well! Thanks again you guys are awesome.
Imark, Yes I bought mine online from Lion Energy. Only the one. However, I did have the dealer install it when we took our RV in for servicing. I did have to get a new battery monitor (Victron) because an issue with the existing monitor and the Lithium battery is that the battery will show 100% all day until it hits the 50% floor....So, that could be an issue. But, as we have 190 AMP solar panels, we have never run out of battery since we installed the one battery. Keeping lights on, running heater, water heater and charging phones etc, overnight. Recharging the next day:) Not much instructional help, but know that it is well worth the upgrades battery. Thanks for subscribing!
My husband and I are also considering getting an Intech. We would like to run things on solar and a lithium battery so thank you for that information. But you keep talking about the heater you never talk about the AC. How does the battery work with the air conditioning? We also are from Tucson and we like to go up the coast in the summertime to get away from the heat. We prefer the ocean but it can still be warm on the coast and I cannot sleep without air-conditioning. Can you give information about the air conditioning and Boondocking please?? Thanks. Also looking forward to seeing videos of places you’ve been able to Boondock with your horizon
@@patticochran7606 Patti, the AC does NOT work on the solar! It is possible but you need a lot of panels and a soft start. We did not go this route on ours, we just drive to cooler places:)
Do you happen to know how many solar panels we would need? We have solar on our house but I’m ignorant when it comes to solar on an RV. A guesstimate is fine. Thank you so much for responding to my message! I’m going to have to try and search your other videos to see where you have visited.
@@patticochran7606 A GUESSTIMATE would be 600 Watts...3-4 panels. Best bet is to take a generator boon docking. They work great during the hot part of the days.
Before you bought the inTech, did you also consider either the Little Guy Max or the NuCamp T@B 400? I'm interested in your thoughts on these two since you said in one of your videos that you previously had a Little Guy Mini Max.
A serious but not really serious question- Would this be an 'odd' camper for a newly single guy to be towing with a dog? Is it too fancy lol? I'd love to hear people's thoughts. I don't care what others think too much, but a camper is generally a reflection of your character I think..to some degree.
I am single with a dog and just bought this, went for a 7 week trip. It was a awesome. Perfect size and tons of compliments on the George Jetson future looking camper. It like a studio penthouse on wheels, it's become my panic room. I LOVE IT! 😁
Have HIM sleep on the inside because he has longer legs and arms. It wouldn't be as difficult for him to get out. It is annoying either way but I think he would have an easier time getting out with the advantage of being tall.
A great video thanks you guys Scott Downing cross-country truck driver out of the land of fruits and nuts Bakersfield California presently in Boise Idaho

Dennis, yes we had the little guy for a month....traded up for the Sol for quality reasons.
A serious but not really serious question- Would this be an 'odd' camper for a newly single guy to be towing with a dog? Is it too fancy lol?
I'd love to hear people's thoughts. I don't care what others think too much, but a camper is generally a reflection of your character I think..to some degree.
I would do this for sure, if I was single and had one dog.
I am single with a dog and just bought this, went for a 7 week trip. It was a awesome. Perfect size and tons of compliments on the George Jetson future looking camper. It like a studio penthouse on wheels, it's become my panic room. I LOVE IT! 😁
I am drawn to the aluminum build but the bed layout where 1 person has to hurdle another is a fail.
when you store your trailer, did you keep your black tank full or half full? thanks
About 1/4 with septic pack in it.
Awesome indie. What are those outdoor. Hairs you’re sitting in tight at end.
The avia by nucamp has a telescoping and articulating table that if you can replicate is a must have.
Awesome, Thanks
Nice review. hope yal be safe out there.
Do you use an anti sway weight distribution hitch for your Sol ?
Yes, a Curtis Sway bar works great! All we needed.
Need two smaller lagoon tables at dinette table😊
Did you have to "season" your outdoor grill?? If so, how did you do that?
Heated it up with olive oil, cleaned it and ready to use. I never use soap to clean it. Anything that gets over 165 degrees will kill any bacteria.
Where did you get the shower shelf?
Target
If I purchase one of these,, I would contact Intech and ask if I could get a camper without a bed. Build a single. Just what I would do.
Thank for the info vids. We have one coming! How have you found the flooring stands up to your puppies?
Dave, holds up great, especially with the dogs nails. Surprisingly
@@sputter_RVrs Excellent, thank you!
Use some Gorilla Glue on the roll-up sink cover!
How drunk were you 2 making this video, not denigrating, my wife and I are pretty drunk right now. But how many bottles of wine were in those mugs?
The easy solution for flushing the black tank is a Flush King.
You guys are hilarious. You remind us of...us! LOL
We get that a lot..haha, it is true life:)
Are the drawers dovetailed?
I think so, never really checked that
We just put down a deposit on a Horizon! Woot!
Awesome! You'll have blast in it. So easy to get around with! Keep us posted on your adventures!
So what you're saying is, this trailer is perfect for a single person. 🙂
Let’s face it the living room sofa cannot not be that comfortable, I would be more impressed if the living room had real sofa comfort than that thin Cush!! Seriously
I let her talk man
Bear Down!!
Your wife is hilarious.
She is fun:)
