Part .30 The First Two Masjids in Islam
Q: When did the prophet sws reach Medina ?? Ibn Ishac - He came at midday on a Monday. Around 11:00 it gets too hot to be outside so people would go into nap.
The prophet sws left before Ali but he went to Ghari Thour and waited for Ali to each him. Then they both entered Medina together. When the prophet sws came to Medina he stayed at Khulsum Ibn Hadam’s house, who was married with a family, was the first Muslim to die in Medina. He hosted the prophet sws and the prophet sws slept in his house at night but during the day he went to Saad Ibn Khaytamma’s house because he was a bachelor.
When the prophet sws arrived to Medina the Muslims were already praying Jumma. The first Jumma was already established bc Musa Bin Umair was there.
In Sura Touba Allah told the prophet sws that it’s better to pray in Masjid Quba. Allah called them “those who love to purify themselves” because they liked to wash after the bathroom. Note: it is preferable to wash oneself in Istinja but not wajib bc not everyone will have access to water. Some companions used leaves or rocks.
The first khutba that the prophet sws gave, he said save yourself even with the pit of a date in charity and if you can’t do that then say the Kalima. All of his khutba were short and his salahs were longer. Today we have Muslims with weak iman and those who only come to Masjid on Jumma, so we need to give them more reminders.
He said in his khutba “the successful one is the one who left kufr and Allah has beautified his heart. Never get tired of Dhikr and make tauba, be sincere, love one another with the Rooh of Allah between you and Allah hates that his promise be broken.” He talked about fear and hope تغيب و ترحيب .
Dimad Al Azami.
Many people accepted Islam bc of Just hearing Khutba tul Hajjah. Dimad came to Mecca as a medicine man and trader. He was a leader of the Yemeni tribes. The people of Mecca told him beware of Muhammad he is a soothsayer or a magician, etc. so Dimad put cotton in his ears but later told himself that I am an intelligent man, how powerful can his speech be ?? I will guide him if he’s sick or wrong. So he went to the prophet sws and the prophet and said the people warned me about you. The prophet sws began to recite “khutba tul Hajjah. Dimad said “ I have memorized poems from around the world but I have never heard anything like what you have said ! By Allah you must be a man that Allah inspired! “ He accepted Islam right there.
The prophet sws told ten to be pure with their hearts but also to do actions and love one another. Allah doesn’t love that his promises be broken. This is a threat. In just five days the prophet sws built two masjids. There were many small masjadis all over Medina.

Yes he whas wrong but his intentions wasnt to fight. And he will always be better then any of us. We canot disrepsect them even Muawiya because Allah said hes pleased with them.
