great way to spend quarantine!
Alhamdulillah MashaAllah i have just started watching this series of seerah classes a week ago and i already reached pt 30. SubhanAllah i feel a boost in my imaan and feel my love for Rasool Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has increased after gaining detailed knowledge of seerah. jazakamullahi khair.

Part 29.
The beginning of the Madani Era
Three main groups in Medina . The Ansar, Muhajiroon, Yahudi.
Allah preferred the Muhajiroon over the Ansar.
The Ayahs about emigration became more and more strict with both reward and punishment for Hijra. Surah Hajj.
The prophet sws left Ali in Mecca to return the Amanath (items that were entrusted )that were in his house. Many of the Quraysh would entrust the prophet sws with their valuables even though they didn’t like him. They knew he was trustworthy. So everyone who was Muslim had left. Ali was last one after the prophet sws.
Some people became Muslim after the Hijra and others who hid their Islam stayed back because of the persecution. Yet the laws of Hijra became more and more strict and it became obligatory to do Hijra. Allah said in sura Nisa “the angels will ask the people why have you remained in Mecca and killed by the Muslims ? “ And they will reply bc of the persecution. They even had to fight against the Muslims in the battle of Badr. They didn’t fight but some were killed by accident. The angels will reply you had no excuse for not immigrating. Hijra meant poverty because they had to leave everything behind. Some of them left and yet others still stayed so Allah revealed Surah Al Ankabuth. “When they are persecuted by the people they considered it great as the punishment of Allah! And when the believers have a victory they will say we are with them.”
One sahabi named Zunda Ibn Dawrah was an old blind man. When he heard this for us he said that I don’t have an excuse and he told his servant to lift him up out of the bed and help him go to Medina. He died on the way at Tanyeem just outside Mecca. Before he died he put his left hand in his right and said “O Allah this is my Bayah to the prophet sws”.

Allah revealed a verse saying that he forgave those who sincerely wanted to make Hijra and were unable to. After the battle of Ahzab the Muslims the ruling on Hijjah became lax. Then after the conquest of Mecca by the Muslims, the ruling on Hijra was abrogated.
Q: Can Muslims live in a non Muslim land ? Scholars have different opinions but some say yes if he is able to practice his religion.
Fudayk Ibn Damurah asked the prophet sws if he had to make Hijra bc his people were in central Arabia and were kuffar. The prophet sws said to him “Ya Fudayk establish salah and about sins and live where you like with your people.” Some scholars say that bc of Spain where Muslims had to leave or hide their Islam, but this is not physically possible bc 1/2 billion Muslims live as minorities in non Muslim lands. Where would they go ??
This is relevant to us bc it deals with Hijra as the Muslims of today’s west have done so. Ex: Abyssinia
After the Mecca Hijra they could do Hijra anytime and it was no longer mandatory .
