Initial thoughts were that it looks pretty interesting but then think that it's taking the simplicity of a cheap, effective and straight forward sponge filter and massively over complicating it. I saw the Aquarium Co op ones yesterday with the fall uplift tube with directional end to it ,that causes better circulation throughout the tank. Thought it was such a simple but brilliant new product. I would much rather that to this one. I wonder how long it would be before that clear hard plastic cracks too. You make very good points about unbeaten food trapped but also fish and shrimp. Yes ,just over complicated with far too many negatives.
I like the practicality and the simplicity of Aquarium Coop's product design. You can tell it was developed by a fishkeeper. Don't have their products in South Africa though.
