  • @jsimes1

    That was wonderful. I've been trying to make my own armature with not great tools and it has been challenging. I don't have a lathe or a milling machine so I have been using a small drill press and just a hack saw for cutting. I really enjoy the learning process and while my armature isn't at the same level of yours I have learned a lot. I'll probably buy one of yours at the end of my work but at least I tried! 😁

      You can do a lot with simple tools. Jewelers saw, drill press, and some files will take you pretty far. Also if you stick to softer metals like brass/bronze you may have an easier time.

    I'm so glad you decided to make Sally, love this character, and been wondering how they achieved the mechanics inside, I'm looking forward to seeing part two and follow the development of this Sally puppet.. Would love to own one of these, be interested to see how it moves, how fluid it will be, as the real test is in how well it will animate right and how well it feels to handle and manipulate..
    And I'm curious as to where the rigging points will be on this puppet.. And how you will achieve stabilisation, especially as it's such a large armature... 👍😊

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi James, thanks, I finished the puppet some months ago. It was for a collector and I don't know if it will ever perform or not, anyway I made it as it has but did not have time to test with animation. It was able to hold it from the feet in straight pose, wich make me happy. You will see it in next videos

    Increíble trabajo! Los originales estaban hechos de espuma de látex (no se si de dice así en español, foam latex en inglés) inyectadas en molde y cocidas después, quizá no sea tan fiel al original pero a lo mejor ahora es más sencillo hacerlos de silicona especial para figuras de stop motion, creo que en el 92 no tenían pero en pelis posteriores si la usaron. No se como has planteado hacerlo, pero es un trabajo muy complicado, tenían decenas de personas solo para hacer lo que estás haciendo tu solo, enhorabuena. Hay una cosa que me tiene intrigado y llevo dándole vueltas un tiempo: entre las armaduras de alambre y las mecanizadas, no hay un término medio? es que son sos extremos y me llama la atención que no haya un sistema más duradero que el alambre pero no tan caro como el mecanizado. Yo estoy haciendo una con una impresora 3D en ABS, es de "ball and socket", uniendo las juntas con tuercas y tornillos y más o menos da resultado, pero hay que hacer muchos ajustes, no sé si será viable. Un saludo

    • @edupuertasfruns
      @edupuertasfruns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
