This set was beautiful for it's time, I wish I picked it up when it was on shelves.
I used to have this set. Unfortunately, I think I have lost quite literally every single piece that was a part of it. I'd make a deal with the devil in a heartbeat to get all the parts from my Fero & Skirmix set back.

My favourite bone hunter lore is that Greg specifically made them out to be a different species from the rock tribe Agori. That's the reason they have sockets for hands instead of fists. Greg even dated the divergence of the two species to around 1000 years prior to the story.
...then you learn about how the Bara Magna residents have lived for hundreds of thousands of years so a mere millennium is not even enough for evolution to do away with their fingers. Gotta be one of my favourite #gregmoments.

I love the new Bionicle and his dinosaur
This was my first set from this line.
I remember trying to use the body and legw to attempt my own titanMOC as a kid. This set is a big part of why my dark red Lego drawer is so full.
I recently remade Fero and Skirmix with the later being heavily inspired by Abelisaurid theropods (think dinos like Carnotaurus) and it felt like I was looking at the old set again with new eyes.
I always wanted this set, even now. I unfortunately didnt find bionicle until 2008. Im the oldest child of my immediate family so i missed out on so much awesome stuff and was only 8 so i didnt realise what i had until it was gone. But it remains a core part of my inner child
That Hewkii is SUCH a good revamp
As amazing as the Mocs by Ted Anders were built the side designs for both of them are literally the same maybe the parasite is built slightly different but they are in essence the exact same build

I did a revamp of fero and skirmix... with an ice creature... and i added wings to the rider, to makes him looks like a hussard... i still got it and love it
You started by talking about young Ben being upset...I remember reading the comments and feeling distraught. And then I saw the ads on the Lego Magazine with an ad for Glatorian, and I was so upset. I thought they had abandoned Bionicle and was making Glatorian instead! But then when the story started interconnecting I got a bit more excited

It's great, I just liked the other sets more. Also I was about to do a whole video on this set, so it's worth saving all those thoughts for this video
7:55 I know that, and I wanted to ask, just how much more fragile ARE they? Because I had a used Von Nebula, like 75% we're cracked, and I haven't yet used any more of the old sockets, and I don't know if my sort of paranoia of them being very fragile is as high as it should be (so, how fragile, compared to CCBS sockets)
I myself have been able to use them without cracking them as long as I've been pretty careful, but I've also been trying to avoid using them as much as possible. It's just that acquiring sets that have been heavily played with (taken apart and rebuilt a bunch) will also have had more opportunities to fracture. If you're careful with them you can probably use them and be relatively okay.

I've literally never seen any bionicle piece break like the one at 8:08, I've only ever seen the bones (old hands/thighs/upper arms etc.) break/crack/fail catastrophically. What lead to that, or did you just find it like that?
