Congrats on the 28th anniversary. Me and my wife will be celebrating our 5th in November. I ordered the CD version of the Dio set. I was on the fence about it because I have magica and master of the moon but don’t have angry machine and killing the dragon so I decided to pull the trigger and buy it. The CD version doesn’t come with the Electra single, you just get the 4 CDs. I have the Winger and Thin Lizzy “Vegabonds of the western world” box sets on order. I wish the WASP one was coming out on CD but that’s a vinyl only release. Every time I tell myself I’m done buying, one of these new sets come out and I can’t resist.
As usual, it was a very nice video. Thanks to you and your video , I immediately had to check my Dio collection on vinyl. It's been a long time since I played Dio. I discovered that I was missing: Sacred Heart, Lock Up The Wolves and Strange Highways. These were ordered today, they were actually sent from the sender within 3 hours. When they arrive, I will have a complete Dio collection on vinyl. It's the remastered editions from 2019. What would have made this box set more attractive for me is the inclusion of the two albums before these -- effectively, all of the post-'80s Dio records, as I have Holy Diver to Dream Evil on OG vinyl already. So, I might track down those 2019 reissues when I can. Right now, I have SOOOOOOO many albums to buy, it's ridiculous. 2023 has been a killer year for releases.
The problem with so many 80’s bands that moved into the 90’s & 00’s did a lot of label jumping, so it might be tough for them to corral all the licensing rights. I think Warner Bros/Reprise still holds the rights on the first 6, but I’m not entirely sure. Yeah I hear you on buying, it’s been box set madness lately & if related to anything 80’s I WANT 95% of it 🤣 Cheers Matt

Magica is the only Dio studio album I'm missing, not sure it's worth having the boxset though just to scratch that itch! BMG always do a good job so I can see the appeal. Enjoyed the vid!
I have these on an earlier CD re-issue. Peppered with live tracks as bonus material. The CD The Very Beast Of Dio Vol 2, has ‘Elektra’ and two tracks which RJD’s Cousin David Feinstein,which RJD sung lead vocals on. I will be giving this set a miss.

You warned me about going down the vinyl road. 😂 I really hope Maiden doesn’t reissue those box sets because I finally completed their catalog (and overpaid for x-factor) individually. There’s no way I’d be able to turn it down.😅 🍻

Very nice Dio box set. Love the minimal gold details and picture🤘probably not something I’ll pick up as I have all of the previous reissues even though it’s a little different. Cool vinyl colours. I just filled out the Overkill box with my OGs, f you EP and first album 🤘

Nice boxset. I’ve got the 2019 versions and there is a lot of other things coming out that I’m gonna buy so I will pass on this one for now. By the way, it seems that BMG have the rights for Saxons albums from 1991 to 2009 now. They just rereleased them on cd. I’ve got the Demon Box ”Eagles and dragons”, and it’s a great one. Something tells me that BMG will release their own box version of those records in the near future. It’s hard to keep up!😅
I see that 6 of 9 of those Saxon albums have been released or up for preorder, all cheap assed digi sleeves … no thanks! I think your right, it won’t be long until BMG releases their own box set of those 9 albums. It sounds like BMG has an endless supply of money 😂 Cheers Nik

The new box set does include inner sleeves, it’s the 2019 gatefolds that don’t, those only come with a single paper insert. Sorry I may have called those inner sleeves in the video lol. Thanks as always 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
They were all reissued individually in 2019 as I mentioned in the video! So right now if you bought them all separately it would be about the same price as buying the box, unless you get a decent deal someplace. They are definitely not giving these away 😂 Thanks for watching

@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I know you are fairly new to the Death Metal scene but Nuclear Blast pulled the same crap on the Dismember box set few months ago, which sold out instantly then went for crazy prices on the 2nd market, just to release the individual albums few months later. You should check out the first 2 albums, CLASSICS ! plus I was able to get them for $22 shipped from Europe.

For that amount of money it seems kind of lazy to just copy the track listings from the CD on the back instead of listing side A and B. Classy looking box set though.
Apart from the bigger artwork I cannot understand people buying vinyl. It's outdated old technology and doesn't sound as good as CD never mind better, as vinyl people seem to believe.
For me Marty “the” perfect sound isn’t my main focus, if it sounds good I’m happy, I just love the larger scale of vinyl. I just love physical media in general, I still actively buy CDs, Vinyl, DVDs, blu-rays & the odd cassette. That’s my take on it lol, totally respect your opinion my friend 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy

I love Angry Machines. I think this is the heaviest Dio album,some of the songs are REALLY heavy.
