Omgosh I plan on getting one of these! I was trying to decide which Sumikko pet was best and this one overall seems like the most fun, that and the Catch.
That's pretty disappointing that you only get Shirokuma and Tokage in this one. I mean, I love all of them, but I'm sad that the other 3 weren't included for this one. I wonder if they listened to people who said that 5 were too many to 'care' for, but instead of making it easier to care for them by not making you feed or tend to them 50+ times EACH, they just nerfed some of the characters. Sad! I'm thankful you do such in-depth videos on new products! Thank you for doing this! :)
I was also wondering the same, maybe too many people complained about having too many characters to care for! I was also thinking, the other reason might just be that they could take the opportunity to release a DX version a few months later (which historically has been the norm for the past devices), and maybe release the rest of the characters in that version. Well who knows...time will tell! You're welcome, I'm happy when I see other people being able to enjoy this game!

omg i love my tama pix party (it reminds me of it insize/shape) and this is so cool i might have to get it too!!! i love that its also a pedometer!! ive been waiting for stuff to combine traditional vpets w pedometers. tysm for your guide!!!
Its not a full pedometer in the sense that it doesn't track the exact number of steps you have taken, but yeah it does track movement when u go on walks, so u can collect items ☺️ if you could manually count how many steps it takes for the pin to go 1 full circle, then technically I guess u could estimate how far you have walked based on the number of laps.
Hi Rachel, I was wondering if you knew how to unlock the secret album in the library. I've collected all the sumikkos and got them all showing their crowns, levelled up friendship to the max and input all secret codes available but my library still shows the bouncing dust bunnies, and I saw somewhere that u can unlock a secret album where they are bouncing. Any help would be appreciated. Love your videos. Thank you 😊

I don't think I have a favorite per-se. It really depends on what is/was the hottest Tama at the time. Well there was one period of time where I ran the Human Player for 2 years straight, but I've stopped it now. I've been also spending quite a significant amount of time with the Tamagotchi Meets, and then now I've moved on to the Tamagotchi Smart. Currently though, I'm not running any Tamas right now because I need a break from responsibility, so I am only running the Sumikko Friends as it doesn't need constant care, yet it serves as a cute companion!
Oh, another Tamagotchi that I hold dear to my heart is the melon soda keitai! I just love its shell design and color so much. And another one that is special to me is my custom painted Sumikko Gurashi themed v5 famillitchi. Whenever I feel like running a black and white Tamagotchi, I will pick either one of those two!
Personally I liked the Mikke the best but now it has become 2nd best because of the Friend! ❤️❤️ you can consider getting either Mikke or Friend. Personally I like these two the most.
Thanks so much for the video. I'm hoping it's not my device, but every time I let it go to sleep (LCD Off), no amount of button pressing will turn it back on. Holding the R button for 3 seconds or so doesn't do anything. I ALWAYS have to hit the reset button. It's a horrible design choice if that's intended, but wondering if there was something I could do to get around this. Thanks.
The same situation happened to me too, especially on the first day after Unboxing. Pressing the R button didn't work so I had to press the reset button. It was very annoying! But after 2-3 days the problem went away on its own and my device is working as normal now. I'm not sure what happened, but you could try putting in fresh batteries and see if it helps. If not then I'd recommend getting a replacement or refund!
This is happening to me, too. It hasn't been opened for even 24 hours yet. I just put another set of fresh batteries in (fresh from the same pack that I bought yesterday). Hopefully this issue resolves itself. I love this lil' toy and hope I don't have to send it back! P.S. Oh and how long does the battery last? I have a habit of playing with these obsessively and was wondering how the battery life would be with constant playing
according to the user manual, its 4 hours of gameplay, which is shorter than the water which was 6 hours. in reality, i find myself changing the batteries twice a week. I suspect it consumes more battery when in outing mode (as the step counter runs in the background), because most of the time when the battery dies it is during outing mode.

Hello! Yes it is a common issue that I heard from many other people too, unfortunately. You could try to press the reset button, normally that would wake the screen again. Or, change the batteries. If it keeps on happening again and again, then maybe you could try to get a refund or exchange for a new one.
I’ve seen some reviews about the device not being able to be turned on even with a change of battery not helping. have you experienced this problem at all/know how to fix it?
I experienced it in the first 2 days of playing with it, but then the problem kinda went away on its own. I manage to wake it usually by pressing the reset button. But the problem stopped happening to me now.
You only can have two characters, you can’t get more🥰 but two are fun enough I think!! I don’t think they can change clothes but you can change their wallpaper and furniture

Even after removing the less important things, the video still took 30 mins, and anything longer the guide would be too long for people to want to learn. As a rule of thumb the Mini Games (hard mode) gives more money than Friend Games. Out of all the Mini Games, I think the rhythm one is the easiest. If you don't make any mistakes you get 350 coins per game. All food fills up sumikko the same amount. One feed = half heart. But some food will make sumikko happier. I included a list of like, neutral, and dislike foods on my guide (link in video description). Mine pout a lot too at first!! I finally figured it out eventually... In Friend Mode (with the cover on), you have to pet it a lot. Like A LOT. I petted it for 20 mins straight and it finally became happy! I suggest you can do it while watching Netflix or something since its gonna take a long time and you'll be bored.
personally my top fav is the Sumikko Friend, because I like the unique feature of the Friend mode which makes me feel like I have an actual companion with me. Very close in 2nd place is Sumikko Mikke!

Personally I prefer mikke over the catch. Catch is too big in size I think!

an update-- this mostly has stopped for me. i might have to reset it once a day in the morning but that's not the case consistently.

How do I take care of more people and how do I get them? Can the characters' clothes be changed?
You can’t add more characters; there’s only two. It seems like in this version you can’t change their clothes 😢

Is there a pause feature if you have to go to work or school? Or will it eventually die if you stop taking care of it?
There's no pause function. Unlike a Tamagotchi, it will not die. It will only become sad, so you can just care for it again when you come back!
Help! My sumikko is keep sleeping and showing their grumpy face😭😭 what should I do?
Keep petting it with its cover on to increase its happiness. It takes awhile to increase. It took me 15 mins of continuous petting !

Yeah sometimes that happens, so you can push the reset button (don’t worry it wont reset your device), and the screen turns back on.
