To all the NICU momma's who don't get to bring your babies home.... you are not alone. I lost my daughter in 2005. I never had another. It's hard. It's the biggest pain and heartache you will ever feel. That being said, I have grown from my experience and watch these videos now because it brings me joy to see women who do get to bring their children home. It took a year before I could watch TV and not cry over diaper commercials. Time does make it easier though and you will survive. You are loved. You are valued. You are still a mother. You are the strongest mom of them all.

For anyone who’s curious about the space flavored coke, it’s raspberry flavored because they found stuff in space that contains the same chemicals that give raspberries their flavor. So basically space tastes like raspberries so they made this coke 😂 I thought it was gross though

That makes sense why it kind of tastes like cotton candy because to get a "cotton candy" Frappuccino at starbucks you add raspberry syrup because they probably use raspberry syrup in it for the the flavor or whatever

Hi Colleen. TORTILLA TALK QUESTION: have you made a conscious effort to have positive self talk? I've noticed that you haven't been talking negative about yourself lately. You are doing so great with parenting and encouraging other moms. We love you!!
that’s true! I so understand how we all have doubts about ourselves but I know that positive self talk can make a HUGE difference. Especially, since she has kids so once she gets it down, they can mimick the positive self talk by watching their mother. hopefully, she responds to you bc that was a good question.
I’ve noticed a change since she’s been on antidepressants and having a good therapist. Of course we only see a snippet of her day so she may be showing her best side. Also, that getaway with Erik helped. Sleep does wonders for new parents. I love the vlogs.

Wow hearing you mention how Flynn’s first steps reminded me how little he was when I started watching the vlogs!! Started right before the pandemic hit. He really did go from crawling one day to running around the next! Love seeing him grow and come into his own

I’m only 19 but it’s been so great to see a version of what an honest pregnancy looks like. As someone who also has expectations for experiences, it’s good to know that’s it’s not all sunshine and rainbows like what is portrayed. My daughter and I just love you! You are a true inspiration. Her baby is Due May 3rd. I am so excited to be a grandma. She is so afraid that she will have postpartum depression. I told her if she does, that it is okay. I love seeing how you and Eric interact with all of your babies. It is so cute! Flynn reminds me of my daughter, she spoke so early, just like him. It is too cute! He is so smart! Hoping you will come to Austin, Texas soon! We love ya!

Tortilla talk question(s): At the beginning of your pregnancy, you said you wanted a kitten. Are you still planning to? Did you convince Eric, or make any progress if you didn’t convince him? When would you plan to get a kitten if Eric said yes (hopefully a little after the twins are older)?

When my baby was in the nicu my sister told me “soon this will all just be a blip. Part of the story. But it’s fine Sam; relax” and I remember being SO mad because she had never been in that situation so she couldn’t quite understand……. Turns out she was right though. It’s all just a blip. A blur almost. I don’t remember all of it maybe because trauma, but maybe because it really wasn’t that important in our overall story.
I can’t get over that fact that Flynn is literally a mini version of Erick
I showed my dad the twins and he was like: ARE THOSE COLLEEN'S TWINS? THE TEENY TINY BABIES? THEY LOOK SO GOOD! he was so happy with how far they've come and I am too. you too mama! you've come so far and I am proud of you every single day. keep crushing it!

BEHIND THE COKE:
Starlight coke is supposedly "raspberry" flavor according to my coke rep (I work in a grocery store). He said coke gets info from those coke machines at restaurants where you can customize your drink. That's how they made ginger Sprite and orange vanilla coke too. I have no idea why they say it's space flavor though. I think it tastes like flat cherry vanilla coke but made with the syrup in those machines.

I also absolutely feel that too, pictures of me 50 pounds ago are like so surreal because i remember feeling so insecure during that time in my life and even then I knew that i would look back on that time in the future and not judge myself…. Its super hard to continue to feel comfortable in the moment about that sortof stuff but you said it so perfectly!

No joke. That starlight coke tastes like cotton candy mixed with starburst. It totally makes sense about the high sugar. It took me two day to finish because it was too sweet for me!
My sister, my daughter and I tried it. None of us finished it. To me, it tasted like the burnt part of the marshmallows when you are making smores.
My family thought it tasted like Teddy Grahams, marshmallow, and a hint of raspberry. It was weird. Not something I would drink ever again, but a fun experience. lol

Colleen. Thank you. At the time you were talking about insecurities my dermatillomania was hitting me hard. I was literally standing in front of a mirror picking on a zit. Your statement about how insignificant my zits are helped me relax more about it and take a pause to focus on something else. Which is huge when you’re in a picking episode. Thank you 100 times for how you share your struggles and reality with us, so we aren’t alone.
Colleen, about the insecurities, I wanted to just say this. Our state and school just lifted the mask so it's optional. I'm feeling comfortable and safe, so I'd like to take mine off, at least a little. I don't like many aspects of my face and the acne that I have either. I really needed to hear this because it was so stressful the thought of people seeing my face, or at least the parts I don't like about it. So thank you, this gave me some piece of mind and made me more comfortable in myself and won't let my insecurities prevent me from taking the next step. Much love
