- Today I explore my old stomping grounds, Turlock, CA. I go to the California State University Stanislaus, Stanislaus Fairgrounds and its tumultuous history of Japanese Internment in World War Two, I try Virtual Reality for the first time and LOVE it! then head to the park for a little drone and tell.
I've been in Turlock all my life. Since 1948. Population was around 4,000 about that time.
I remember when I would go to the city and tell people I live in Turlock.. they would say, Wow, you live way out there in the boonies..
It was a pretty nice, peaceful place.
Main Street was the only real attraction around at that time. Mostly trees and farms everywhere.
It's amazing to see all the earth that has been replaced by houses and buildings.
I remember when that restaurant was called Track 29. It wasTHE place to take your prom date in the mid 80's
i appreciate you are bringing some light into this dark history. Safe travels.
Great shot of 99. I to grew up I. Turlock and new nothing of the past. I still live pretty close. I became a doordasher in Turlock and I learned that there's more of Turlock than I thought.
The train restaurant used to be called TRACK 29
I knew the original owners son, (I think they were the originals) the Paul’s.
Aye that’s Sarah’s old house!
Turlock is way different...i lived there from 1985 to 1988...went to Stanislaus State, graduated in 1986...lived on Lyons Ave. near the Catholic church! Thanks for the video!
I live in turlock for 17 year's and knew nothing bad about it strangee"thx for lettimg us know!
I went from 3rd grade until I graduated in 82 from turlock high
Class of 85 here
Omg, that home where you're playing with Oculus- is that on Loyola Way?
My dad was a kid back then and he remembers seeing them walking around in jump suits that said POW on the back of them. They had Italians and Germans also.
PS, my dad built that restaurant. I was with him when we bought those boxcars in Lincoln, CA.
awesome
Track 29? I knew the Paul’s.
The only thing I really know about Turlock is that there's a lot of churches . I've lived here for 30 years
for sure, the Bible Belt of CA
@@EgoDrivenFilms is that home on Loyola Way?
Turlock is in the guiness book of world records for the most churches in one town...of all states and towns
turlock is a ghetto now, it's been more ghetto every year sense 2019.... 1000s of oakland & LA residents moving in.
I have a degree in History and I can tell you that the reason why the Japanese were interned but not the Italians and Germans was because the grange farmers wanted their land
Solid vid
The only reason I clicked is to see my house
If you don’t fix your audio I will remove you from my playlists
I’m thinking +6+12 is a sweet spot
