I have a full return Division X system in my 03 Cobra. It has given me years of faultless performance! But if for any reason I need to take the hat out for service I will not hesitate to install this new upgraded hat. I am very impressed with the solid hose free design.
Unfortunately there is no complimentary upgrade. The new fuel hat is totally redesigned so you would need to purchase the newest version in order to be hose less. We have a fathers day sale coming up this weekend so that would be a great time to pick one up if you're looking to upgrade. Thanks!
I would definitely recommend running this hat in a cobra tank which has baffles. That helps keep fuel around the pumps much better than a GT or Mach 1 tank. For road racing it’s also tough to say how much fuel should be kept in the tank as over all of the years since we’ve been selling these hats I really haven’t seen much info or data from the road race community. With that said personally I’d probably keep at least half a tank of fuel in there if you’re going to be hitting corners hard.
I solved my starvation with a return system and fed the return into the top of the stock GT "sump" which houses the pump. I can easily take this down to 3gal left in the tank without any loss or starvation issues pulling high G corners. Tested and confirmed on several tracks.

Great design
Thanks Nick!
Do the guys that bought the first one with the little cheap pieces of rubber hose get a complimentary upgrade??

Just ordered this. Heck ya!
Do the Walbro F90000285 pumps need to be trimmed with this new fuel hat before installed in the tank?
No trimming of the pump is required when using the 285 or 295 pumps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!
can i run a single pump in this hat
Nice product. How does this work on fuel starving in high G corners with 1/2 tank or less? I would think adding the Hydramat would help.

baffle system save from starvation when turn creates a pocket around the fuel pump.....1 for the gas and 1 for the fuel pump

Where does the fuel sender attach to on the fuel hat?
It attaches in the same place it did on the Gen 3 hat. On the spine of the hat.
@@Lethalcamp Ok just trying to familiarize myself with it. Mine came in the mail the other day. 👍🏾

You can plug the return hole if you’re not on a return system?
Yes! You certainly can.
