U r doing a great job just keep it up my friend .. Thanks for your tutorials I have to inform u I became expert by seeing ur videos and practicing Thanks Mr.Balkan
Another way to create that void panel is to create the panels in a separate file. Import all the panels that you want and create a visibility parameter (on/off) for each panel. Tada!!! You’re not just limited to a single panel.
The family needs to have a part that gets cut by the cut plane of the view range setting. So if the object is always over the cut plane, as for an example a wall mounted shelf, then we need to put this invisible object in that it can cut. And as soon as it is cut it will show up in the views.
Just use character map and select Zero Width Space copy then paste into the replace with text box then type any number and voila you have changed the number of the dimension.
This didn't work. I drew the dashed lines but when I inserted my test cabinet into the model they appeared solid. I played with the VR to no avail. I drew the invisible line too. Any thoughts anyone? My old standby would be to draw the dashed lines in the view as I would with Autocad.

I replicated this exercise using the Casework in wall template when creating the family, it didnt show the dashed lines on my floor plan. Then tried again, but using a Generic model in wall template and it worked. Tbh I don't understand why one works and the other one doesnt, but I got what I wanted :)
Check first with the light bulb and then if it still isn't showing try: 1. If sections are hidden in the template or visibility graphics settings. 2. Change scale in a plan view to a finer scale to see if it is hidden with the hide section if scale is coarser than... I would try 1:20 and see if it pops up. 3. Check if there are a filter that hides sections, either in the template or visibility graphics.I would check visible on every filter that is applied. Hope you can solve it :)
Yes we all in love with your revit tutorials

You can change the view range in the properties after clicking and changing the drop down menu where its say "Family: Generic Models"
Very nice tricks, but can you explain more why we need that invisible model line to show the overhead lines of the geometry of the family ?

Love the trick section, and you are a genius!
Big problem with the Invisible Line trick is if the Family is moved down, the origin with go below the Floor and not schedule for that Room.
Very helpful tips, thank you!
life-saving content :p
for real though you have helped save so much time

Dear Balkan,
Please note that the repetition of ideas causing an undesirable extension of the video length.

Hi! thanks for your tips! I need overhead pipes to be dashed.. can anyone help please??
Hi Balkan,
I have client Revit Model.
I'm trying to create section, but it's not created
Check first with the light bulb and then if it still isn't showing try:
👍🏻
I usually understand everything he explains, but I found it difficult to follow this video :( mainly the dashed lines part
you go too fast, maybe make it 3 tips per session. How did you get to the parameters dialog?
No less thAn, on the clickbait
U made me laugh when u say i know what u are thinking when u change the dimention 😂 but u still didnt show us how to fake the dimention numbers🤔
Too fast at times. Please be a bit slower especially for beginners.
