Dropkick Murphys - Hellfest 2024 - ARTE Concert

🇫🇷 Pendant un concert des Dropkick Murphys, des instruments qui, a priori, n’ont rien à faire ensemble se côtoient dans la joie et la bonne humeur : bodhran, guitare, batterie, mandoline, accordéon… La raison ? Les Américains sont les ambassadeurs du celtic punk rock, un style qui - comme son nom l’indique - mélange influences hardcore et musique irlandaise. On aura rarement entendu une alliance aussi efficace.
Les Dropkick Murphys multiplient les allers-retours musicaux entre leur Amérique natale et l’Île d’Emeraude depuis le milieu des années 90. Fils spirituels de The Pogues et de Stiff Little Fingers, leur musique est à la fois virile et bon enfant, festive et revendicatrice. Des compositions à l’image de l’Irlande en somme.
Aujourd’hui composés d’Al Barr, James Lynch, Ken Casey, Matt Kelly, Tim Brennan et Jeff DaRosa, les Dropkick Murphys viennent une nouvelle fois retourner le Hellfest Open Air Festival. Aura-t-on droit à un wall of death sur fond de bignou ? À un circle pit humecté à la Guinness ? Réponse dans cette vidéo.

🇩🇪 Bei den Konzerten der Dropkick Murphys garantiert eine wilde Mischung unterschiedlichster Instrumente - von Bodhrán, Gitarre und Schlagzeug über Mandoline bis zum Akkordeon - für Party und gute Stimmung. Die US-Amerikaner sind Botschafter des Celtic Punk Rock, eines Musikstils, der, wie der Name schon sagt, Einflüsse aus Hardcore und irischem Folk miteinander verbindet und dabei eine selten unterhaltsame Mischung schafft.
Seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre unternehmen die Dropkick Murphys regelmäßig musikalische Abstecher über den Großen Teich in Richtung Grüne Insel. Sie sind die geistigen Ziehkinder von The Pogues und Still Little Fingers, und ihre Musik ist ebenso kernig wie gesellig, festlich und anspruchsvoll zugleich - Irland eben.
Die Dropkick Murphys in der aktuellen Besetzung mit Al Barr, James Lynch, Ken Casey, Matt Kelly, Tim Brennan und Jeff DaRosa werden das Hellfest Open Air Festival erneut ordentlich auf den Kopf stellen. Ob es wohl wieder eine Wall of Death zu Uilleann Pipes geben wird? Oder einen Circle Pit mit Guinness-Dusche? Wer mehr wissen will, muss einfach dieses Video anschauen.

@@danielschmadererin 2018 he had a disc operation, because he had lost all feelings in his right arm and hand. He couldn’t feel his fingers. Kevin Rheault has been playing the bass ever since.

« Nous détestons entendre parler de mauvaises nouvelles, mais nous répondons présent lorsque les gens nous demandent de rendre hommage à leurs amis. Je veux donc dédier le prochain morceau à notre ami Maxime et à tous nos amis fans du FC Nantes ici présents. On m’a dit qu’il aimait cette musique… elle est pour toi, Maxime.
