Fun fact, Gal Gadot was visibly pregnant during the production of Wonder Woman, but the audiance wouldn't be able to tell due to how much time the CGI team had to remove Gadot's baby bump. In contrast, a bunch of Henry Cavill's scenes from Justice League that showed up in the final cut of the film were reshoots months before the film was slated to be released. As a result of having months to work on the problem, the CGI team had significantly less time to make the digital removal of Cavill's moustache look more natural than what was shown in theaters
Good CGI takes time it's not that they couldn't do it; people on the internet afterwards did it better but they had all the time in the world to do it, the CGI artist on the movie had a time limit
Also face muscles, SPECIFICALLY the upper lip are hard to do. Editing out cables and shit is easy peasy compared to trying to emulate human skin and muscles.
