We have a large shop/barn on our property that has a small apartment at one end that grandpa,(me), lives in. The big empty space at the other end of the building has been converted into a batting cage, a movie theater, a home brewery, and various other uses. My grandson and his pals have slept in the building and watched movies together as a fun activity. My son and his wife get a night out while grandpa gets to hang out with his favorite grandson and watch movies. Life is good when you share it with your loved ones!

As soon as you said boys’ camp out I said to my husband, “Ope, I bet little Henry is getting weaned!” Lol! I’m a mom of 7, I recognized this tactic instantly. You were doing so well until the end of the video when you started talking about Mama. I was like, “Nooooooo!!! Don’t say that!!!” Good job, everyone!
I just laughed out loud so hard when you said ‘I don’t wanna have explain this to the doctor’ then the machine started spinning the flat thing with the kids on! Another great episode!

You're a good daddy and a responsible father, giving a two year old kid something to do when it's the tough thing to do. He's going to be a tough guy when he grows up after only being weaned after two years old, I think it makes a person a lot stronger, getting a good start that way. He needs to know the rules of life, being that he'll be a strong man when he grows up. Stronger than most of us. It would seem from this video that you are on that pathway, and good going.
You've got a great family and it warms our hearts to be able to see this small window into that world. It's really good to see. Many blessings to you all in a revealed fashion.

Cool, camping with the boys! I liked the cooking! Hot dogs and lamb burgers for the first night. That was funny that Jonah couldn't get up in the morning! That immersion blender was industrial! I liked the breakfast/brunch grilled on the flat grill. Good thing you rescued Flossy's hide. The equipment swing was cute. Nice mountain climb. Philly cheese steak sandwiches homemade off the grill! You guys eat well! Henry did really well! It's nice to have that projection screen to watch something together at the end of the day. Great adventure with the boys Justin! Spending father son time is so important. My three boys were scouts and my late husband a scout master. They weekend camped regularly and spent a full week at camp in the summers. The boys now men still talk about those times. And it gave me and my daughter special time too.

As kids we spent the night in the hay mow ! Back then we put up hay loose, no bails for us till about 10 years later. Then we built forts and tunnels... they wouldn't allow that these days because it could and did cave in on us!!! That just made it more fun of course. If I could go back in time, that's where I would go. Times were hard but so much fun.

Congratulations Justin Rhodes on the level of success that you have been able to achieve in Homesteading and your social media business platforms. I've followed you for several years and I believe that none of what you have achieved was just handed to you. It's been obvious in so many ways that not only were you looking out for your family you stayed 100% business minded focus week in and out you seemed so focused on giving your viewers quality content even if it was basically the same type task on your farm daily the videos were not only informative they were also very entertaining and they never came across as though everything that you did was not just for entertainment purposes but it truly came across as though everything that you did was totally fulfilling. Thanks for the years of hardcore focus on business and growth. There's so many on TH-cam who could really learn from your example, and again thank you 🙂

A good tool for toting toddlers around is a simple sling, a loop of fabric that hangs from your shoulder down about the opposite hip. They can slip in and out as they want to run around, but then easy to pop them back in for a ride and the sling distributes some of the weight better. I toted a toddler around a multiple-day homesteader's festival 40+ years ago and it worked out so well - wish I had known about them for my first. Just sewed it up myself out of some extra material I had laying around - easy peasy.

How fun I remember having barn parties. And as a teen I lived in the barn we had offices that was insulated in there. Summer was hot but winter was more warmer than the house. Only part sucked having walk to house use the bathroom

We live near Myrtle beach and it's where I grew up but I prefer mountains...the beach is not what it was when I was growing up.

Grew up in Albemarle, Mama loved the beach, Daddy loved the mountains so we alternated between Blue Ridge Parkway and Myrtle Beach.
The ending was so sweet I almost cried.

I love both beach and the mountain, in fact it's really causing me some grief because I want to figure out where to live.
I live in VA, I have family in SC and there is the beach and mountains in both. Might just pick somewhere in the middle.
Mountain person is my choice, and I only live about 25 miles from the beach riding through the mountains of western Maryland and West Virginia is so beautiful this time of year especially within the next few weeks.

I'm a mountain girl, beaches are just messy and there are things in the ocean that want to kill you. A river coming down a mountain, now that's my jam!
