It seems Leslie went to the trouble of cleaning up the pics/photos as they look rather clear and of good quality. If only Birchip knew way back in 1910's, it was going to be the Vanilla Slice Capital of Straya.

The photo of Buninyong station is actually Yendon. It was named Buninyong when the Geelong - Ballarat line opened, renamed Buninyong East when the railway to Buninyong opened, and then renamed Yendon a short time later.
Well done...great old photos from a time when the better country stations were built to keep their customers warm in frosty times. Heaps of chimneys on several of them. Some beautiful structures in those days.
I still remember walking into the waiting rooms at several suburban stations in the mid 1970’s and they still lit their fires to warm the waiting passengers.
7:43 Mansfield. The 280hp Walker in the picture is in the second colour scheme: blue and gold. And still has the VR logos. The first being blue and silver. The third livery being blue roof and no VR logos. Station signs are the earlier rectangle design. Maybe mid 1950's?
The matching Rookwood Cemetery station building is now an Anglican church in Ainslie, ACT. For a while the Regent St station was home to a refreshment car parked at the platform. Had afternoon tea there. Watched a train emerge from the tunnel from Darling Harbour complex.
My Great Grandfather started his working career at Richmond station about 1910. Retired from VR in 1955 at Noble Park as the Station Master.

i suspect the shep photo dated 1930's (11:00) might be older than that, judging by the lack of longer passenger cars that were around at that time.
