I remember seeing the last train down the Bright/Mount Beauty (Beechworth branch) line. We watched it pass through Everton Upper on the way to Wangaratta. Later we built stock yards with the discarded steel rail lines.
@@Abcdefg-xl8te It is massively mountainous between Bright & Mt. Beauty for a train. The climb would be difficult. Mt Beauty town sits in a valley and a more level approach would have been from Wodonga.
@@phillipwest2478 like I said I never saw the line. I was a child when the lines were ripped up at Everton Upper on the Myrtleford section. It was only something I had heard.
This needs to be expanded upon. 4 minutes and 11 seconds is nowhere near enough to cover such a subject as this. This video needs to be at least an hour in duration to do justice to the subject.
Who on earth would give this historic footage a 'thumbs down'?
Walter Hinterberger Always some moron!🤨
Only a complete Drongo!
Thick fingers on a tiny phone screen hitting the wrong button.
too upset that there aren't any chinese CSR locomotives I bet
I don't know why there's a thumbs down, fingers crossed it was a misclick.
Fantastic stuff. Thank you for sharing
It's sad they shut down these railway networks. :(
The Walker railcars were essentially full-size versions of the ones that ran on the County Donegal and West Clare railways in Ireland
At last a video that speaks about GOODS trains. 👍
I was beginning to think my brain was failing. (Yeah, yeah, I can you now!). 😊

I'm curious, where did the line to Mt Beauty run. I know Bright had a station.
@@phillipwest2478 apparently on up past Bright. I never saw it and I don't know if it was a sub branch or part of the main Bright line.
