Thank you for this definition. There's nothing here about "art" which seems to confuse people regarding Artistic Gymnastics' differentiation between the other types of gymnastics. The sport is exactly what you said, agility and balance combined with athletic strength and precise movements on the 4 or 6 apparatus for women or men. It is not about theatrical dance. It is about agility, athleticism, precision and technical movements.
"Art" is such a subjective word. Rigby now there is no objective way to judge artistry unless it was defined in the COP and gymmasts know exactly what they would be rewarded and penalized for, just the way they know the penaltis for loss of balance, taking steps, lack of precision,...
