- Still in Cong we come across more filming locations from the Quiet Man film where Dan nearly gets run over. Then we enjoy a walk through the woods where we come across Pigeon Hole Cave which is an amazing place full of atmosphere and steep scares steps to get there.

Be careful when going into caves have one person out side in case of a collapse so they can call for help. that out the way great video as always.

Great video as always guys. The only fact I know of Maureen O'Hara is that she was the first woman CEO of a scheduled airline in the USA, I think she took it over when her husband died that founded it. One of those odd crossword clue type things that sticks in my mind :). Looks to me like that railing buckled somehow, if its supposed to be a safety feature I can see it causing more slips than preventing!
Im told it is to break your fall if you slip. Still looks dangerous to me.

There were various family members of the cast in this movie. John Wayne's children were sitting in the wagon at the race and Victor McGlauhlins son or brother (?) was also in the movie. I believe there were others but as I'm almost ancient, I have forgotten who! I have really enjoyed this stop on your trip. Thank you.

Great cave it's sure is a long way down and that path looked even further looking up you could see really how far it was. Lovely paths through the wood plenty to see. Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't give a toss about the birds when it comes to my white breaded sandwiches. It isn't good for them. Birds eat berries, seeds, bugs and worms, not white bread.

You've reminded me of a story my father told me about when as a 7 year old he played Hamlet in a very abridged (must have been because of time constraints) Hamlet, which my grandfather, his father, had edited down. He said they came second in an amateur dramatic contest, and the winners had an 11 year old Maureen O'Hara. Ranelagh and Rathmines Amateur Dramatic Society, I think he said. I wish I could find some reference to it on Google. Edit: "In 1930, the 10-year-old joined the Rathmines Theatre Company where she began working as an amateur actress in the evenings. Four years later, she joined the Abbey and found herself painting scenery and sweeping floors"
