Speaking as a working sculptor... I must say, that bronze of John Wayne and the lady is amazing... One of the best one yet that you've shown over the past couple of years. I got to meet John Wayne's son, Michael Wayne. He'd bought a couple of my bronzes years ago.. got to go to lunch with him in Beverly Hills.. and oh man, That was an amazing experience. A definite visit for us if we get to Ireland. You trying to pick Mazzy up cracked me up, it was so funny! Looking forward to the second instalment later.
The whole of Ireland seems really clean and well looked after. I think the fines for dropped litter are so high it scares people into doing the right thing.
Hello it’s John here, I’m enjoying the channel. I live in Ireland and along your route, there’s a town called Doolin. It’s in County Clare, if you drive down there there’s plenty of parking by the harbour where you can get the boat out to the Arran islands, it’s a lovely day trip, and one of the islands is the setting for Father Ted. You’re also by the cliffs of Moher. There’s a campsite down by the harbour, I’m not sure if it’s open this time of year but it’s a great place to visit. Very good traditional music pubs. Really recommend it. There’s also a surfers town beside it, can’t remember the name of it.

Born in Dublin, he was the third son of the second Arthur Guinness (1768-1855), and his wife Anne Lee, and a grandson of the first Arthur (1725-1803), who had bought the St. James's Gate Brewery in 1759. He joined his father in the business in his late teens, without attending university, and from 1839 he took sole control within the family. From 1855, when his father died, Guinness had become the richest man in Ireland, having built up a huge export trade and by continually enlarging his brewer
That Guinness tower, built in the 1860s could have been used for Semifour signalling, back in the day. They would have kept the trees cut lower when it was in use.
I had a look on Trip Adviser and Guinness Tower has 80 steps (as you said Dan), and there is a view of the tree tops from the top (also as you said Dan).
