Amazing. I did not think it would pull that easily. Another tip to increase pulling leverage; Get an old tire still on the rim (mostly deflated) stand it upright near the base of the tree, drape the chain over it and pull, the tire will roll as you go. This way your pulling more up than sideways. This works really well pulling posts and I’ve used it to pull shrubs too. Nice thing about it is it can be any old beat up tire and rim. Awesome job man. 👍🏻

I did see that also online. I might try it on something big with this setup! Honestly, traction is probably my limiting factor. I think a guy could hook this up to a truck also using a clevis attachment in a receiver. As always, thanks for watching!

With that big of a tractor it should pull them out without a problem. Going to make one for our Kubota B2620 to see how it works, Nice video.

That is awesome. Got the chain. Just gotta find some pipe!

What benefit does having the short chain bolted in 2 spots provide? Couldn’t you just use the single bolt near the pipe opening that goes against the tree?

it keeps the pipe from swiveling away from the direction of poll. it can be eliminated by just hooking the chain near the end of the pipe on an eye.

Put a blanket over the chain ,if anything goes wrong the blanket stops the chain

This set up works well. After making one and using it with a tractor that USED to have a cab with glass on it, DON'T DO IT! Unless of course you rig up a way to protect you, the tractor and the cab on it by erecting heavy chicken wire or screening to stop the chain from flying into you when it snaps or the tree breaks off.
Notice I didn't say if? It happened to me after 3 hours and I was just about done for the day. While it didn't hit me, it did smash out the large rear glass panel on my new Kubota. It would have been cheaper to hire a few guys and pay them to dig the trees and brush out with shovels, Lol
This works well but always think ahead and protect yourself from the worst possible outcomes. My wife grounded me and took my allowance for 2 months when she saw the bill to fix it! She called me an idiot! (Can you believe it?) She was really mean and doesn't play right! (I had to call my mom even!) That wasn't very nice and I told her so!

Thanks, this has been my concern too is the pioe coming back at the operator if the snaps

It helps to attach a heavy towel, blanket or car mat to and over the chain or rope so in case (when) it breaks, it will reduce the flight path and height.

    Outstanding

Putting a 3 or 4 ft tall, upside down T made of 4x4's or even just an old tire on a wheel under that chain/rope will allow the pulling force to lift the tree/brush upward instead of horizontally across the root system. Anything with a well developed tap root can put up a good fight either way.

It’s much safer to pull things in reverse from the front. No chance of flipping the tractor that way, plus you can see what you’re doung

Trees and stumps are easier to lift out with the bucket
