Hello there! At the first stage, Nahuatl should appear in primary school as an additional subject. Then the child must study it in middle and high school. It is mandatory to study at the Institute. Newspapers, television should appear in Nahuatl. It is also necessary to allow documentation to be maintained in Nahuatl. Conduct legal proceedings in your native language. And there is also a whole layer of words missing in science, technology, and so on.

@erik_cucumber_ of course they can speak bouth! Mulitilingualism is normal around tge world! I in MOUST countries people learn English as a compulsatory second language at scoool! And often you can choose to learn another language too. So 3 languages are common! Monolingualism is not normal around the world! The vast majority of the world speak more then one! Only in America (North and South) its seem as impossible! I live in Germany many people speak 3 languages when immigrant and at least minimum 2 wgen native German (scool English + native German) like in tge reast of Europe. Abd in Africa its normal to speak more then one language! So in many parts of Asia

If anyone is Nahua, I have some questions if you could be so kind as to answer them.1. Where in Mexico do the Nahua people live?
    2. Are there any Mexicans who are full blooded Nahua today?
    3. Do Nahua people stick strictly to gender roles?
    4. How do Nahua parents expect their daughters to act?
    5. Are Nahua people today more traditional, like still weaving their own clothes, or more modern like going to shopping malls?
    6. What are some Nahuatl girls' names?
    7. What is important to the Naha people?
    8. What kind of schools do Nahua children go to?
    9. What subjects are important to Nahua people?
    10. Do Nahua people live in extended family homes?
    11. What kind of clothing do Nahua girls and women wear?
    12. How are Nahua children disciplined?
    13. What coming of age ceremonies do Nahua girls participate in?
    14. How many Nahua people speak Spanish?
    15. How many Nahua people speak English?
    Thank you!

Megan well Mexico isn't the only country to have nahuatl spoken by the indigenous. Most of central America speaks it and you can find it in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, etc. I know in El Salvador you can find the nahua in the departments of Sonsonate and Ahuachapan. The schools there have started to teach the dialect again in order to not have it disappear as it is true that each country's nahuatl has differences. Oh and since during the conquest the nahua were scattered in different tribes they all have different types of dress.

To all the people that think Mexicans are JUST Mexicans, I say this: They were colonized as sure as the any other nations were. We don't speak Spanish because we want to, we were forced to. Native American people think they have the gold in the pain olympics, and they ignorantly forget that oppression is oppression.
