Thank you Elizabeth. I have struggled with Depression & ptsd childhood. I had a (minor) stroke a few years ago & have learned how to read again but could no longer do my work as a hospital social worker, where i helped people/families slay dragons (much often poverty & policy, etc.) Now i'm the one who needs an extra dragon slayer at my side & grateful for a great partner. Thank you for your channel, Elizabeth! ~kari in Victoria, BC 🐝🌻
I don't bullet journal or anything, i just find your videos very relaxing - but this spread really touched base with me because I'm 22 and have been suffering with depression and anxiety for over 10 years and also have struggled with anorexia and bulimia. I think your idea of a self care spread is really important! I'm still on treatment for my depression and anxiety (and most likely will be for most of my life), but I'm in a much better place now and I'm glad you're too.Thank you for spreading awareness (I'm finishing my psychology degree in 2 months and really appreciate that) and thank you for the relaxing video! xx lots of love from Brazil and take care ❤
Congratulations on nearing the end of your psychology degree! It sounds like we have had very similar experiences with our mental health. I also struggled with anorexia and bulimia a few years ago, when I was around your age. I’m glad you found the video relaxing even though you don’t have a bullet journal of your own, and thank you for sharing your experience with me ❤️
Pray. Trust me it helps. Most people turn to meds or even suicide, I was depressed and when I noticed I didnt feel the same I prayed. Like I honestly prayed, I sat down and begged God to help me. I grew up in a church called Victory Outreach and I still go. I've always been Christian but sometimes I forget about him. So I prayed and the next day literally, the next day i felt way happier. I know some people dont believe in God or have prayed before and didnt get an answer but that could be because you thought you wanted it but your heart was saying the opposite. Just honestly try. Like really really try. You might be changed for life. Or, the rest of your life in a way you thought was never possible.
Thank you for saying everything you're saying. I hope people really hear you out and seek for that support. Too many wait until things get drastically worse and it will be so much harder to just have the energy and strength to find the right kind of therapy and a therapist that suits to their personal needs. ❗Guys dont wait until everything goes off the rail. Just as anyone would see a doctor when your leg is aching, you should take care of your mind and soul as well when you notice something's off. We can get so stuck in our own heads and become blind to what is normal and what shouldnt be. Time to break the pattern. Take care of yourselves, you deserve this. Little prevention is so much better than letting things build up and then having to try to fix the damages afterwards when you're probably already not in a good place.
You are an inspiration to me. It is hard to admit having panic attacks. I have them less these days but I can always tell it is happening to me and I try to questions is my job ok, are my bills paid, are my children ok and then I can try to breathe through the attack. You have given me more tools to work through the attacks.
I found you by searching for bullet journaling. I'm staying for that + your mental health outreach. I struggled with anxiety and depression in my 20s, alcohol in my 30s, and now depression again in my 40s. I love the idea of using my bujo for strengthening my commitment to self care. Self care (along with therapy) has always been the consistent path back to my sanity and to healthy relationships and to being a productive member of society. :) So happy to have found your TH-cam family.
It took me a lot of time and courage before I accepted that I needed help. And when I finally did, even if it was tough and hard, to go through the stuff I had ignored and pressed down all my life, I regretted only one thing ... that I didn't had reached out for help earlier. When you are willing to feel it, you can heal it. I'm a firm believer of that, but sometimes, you truly need someone professional, with whom you feel save, that can guide you through it all. And yes, after a while, although a healing journey isn't linear, you begin to notice ... there is light at the end of the tunnel and when you are through, everyone in his/hers own tempo, you feel transformed and experience life like you never thought you would. Reaching out for help is a very brave step on your healing journey. It is also very important that you give yourself all the time and space that you need. Every moment you are feeling impatient or guilty or full of shame ... Stop and remember yourself to choose to walk the healing journey in a compassionate and loving way. You are worth it ❤️ Much love xxx
This is such a beautiful comment! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m still near the beginning of my healing journey, but I know it will keep getting better! Sending love ❤️
Thanks for this video. This subject needs to be talked about more. Just lost a neighbor boy at 20 from Suicide. This is just not ok and he struggled with mental health since he was 14. Tragic :(
Wonderful, you are adorable, and a I like the way that is your BuJo organized. I also use my Bullet to organice my life and take care of my self, my body healh and mental health. It's nice to see that we are not the only one, of course each life is unique and on our own but this kind of videos help to fix the moments in better ways. Thank you!
I never benefitted from 20 years of therapy or drugs for clinical depression. I learned more from reading and absorbing Elkhart tolle’s The Power of Now audiobook than in 20 years of talking to someone.
I have social anxiety and many anxiety attacks. I just now am Journaling my anxiety and self care. Tracking my anxiety attacks, mood days, tracking how bad my social anxiety is that day. Thank you so much for this, it has saved me.
I've been watching a lot of your videos this last two days and as I started this one I decided I am suscribing to you channel. You are the sweetest person in the world and have a very soothing voice. Also I love all the bullet journal ideas I've seen you do and I really appreciate someone on the internet reminding us that it is okay to struggle with your mental health and that you're allowed to struggle. Thank u, you seem like a very nice person :)
Aw thank you so much, Celia! Welcome ❤️ I wholeheartedly believe that we need more mental health awareness in the world to work towards an end of stigmatization. We’re all in this together!
I’ve just started getting into bullet journaling and am mainly focusing it on my physical and mental health as I have both physical disabilities and mental health issues. I have just found your channel today through one of your videos being in my recommendations and watched a few of your videos before finding this one. It’s really helpful, thank you. You definitely have a new subscriber
thank you so much for this spread, I'm trying to better my mental health this year and you're the only youtuber I've seen thus far to make a spread like this and it is such a relief to see it
We have lots of these same problems in my family (including me). I never understood a lot of our problems, but in the last few years, several family members have been (independently) diagnosed with ADD Inattentive. We do not exhibit the hyperactivity traditionally associated with this, so we have gone for a long time without understanding. We also had no idea that problems with emotional control, hypersensitivity, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders can go hand in hand with ADD. For anyone experiencing these symptoms (there are many others), you might do some reading about adult ADD, and look into this as a possible explanation.
not many of your sentences on 3:47 show up. could you help by listing more coping skills? I reaLLY love how you put this list under categories. I have ptsd and i used a similar method (inspired by you) for the last few months and it has helped tremendously. But, i dont have nearly as many coping skills. Do you think you could do another self care chart for 2019, with a nice big list we can pick from to help us? I'm sorry if that is terrible wording. I just got off a 13hr shift of work. Feel free to ask about what I was referring to. It's only an idea. :)
Definitely needed this. I have social anxiety and depression I've been going through this for as long as I can remember. I'm getting help for it and having self care in my bujo is so helpful
❤️❤️❤️ I would love to see how you use your Bujo for self care! I’m always looking for new and better ways to utilize my bullet journal to help manage my mental health.
I've had anxiety and depression for almost my whole life, and anorexia during my younger teen years. I haven't had the best experience with therapy, but recently I lost a friend to suicide, and I've noticed that self care hasn't been enough to keep me afloat. I plan on actually going to a doctor and if affordable, some sort of therapy. I think it's easy to be embarrassed or ashamed to get help (which is something I've always felt), but it's so important. Take care💛 Also, I've been debating whether or not to put some sort of spread like this in my bullet journal, but I think I just might for next month's setup
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find someone who can support you in this difficult time ❤️ I’m really liking having a cheat sheet of things I can do to calm myself down and quiet my mind. The gratitude log is also really helping me!
I love using gratitude logs; they're so nice in the moment for reminding you to be thankful, but they're also good to look back at in moments of hopelessness, I think
I'm starting a mental health and self care-based bullet journal in 2019. I'm hoping it helps me take better care of myself and maybe learn more about my depression - my triggers, my symptoms, etc.
I been thinking of trying to do this as I to have major depression disorder and generalized anxiety. I am a first time watcher and now a new subscriber. I love ur channel the way u talked and how emotional you said you get it reminds me of me
OMG I'm so sorry you are going through panic attacks. I have been having them off and on since I was 11 (i'm 44, so 33 years now) and they are the WORST thing I've ever dealt with
I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with them from childhood! I’ve only had the one and I sincerely hope I’ll never have another. I don’t think anyone can understand what it’s really like until they experience it.
I know it was hard to speak up on this. It is hard to admit. Thank you for breaking that barrier so that other people can know they aren't alone. We are all in this together. I would love to talk to you. I cannot place everything publicly, not everyone understands. But I'd be happy to talk to you about it all. I will say Yes I've struggled and been in a coma close to the edge and Ive also went to school for a BA in psychology.
Dear, beautiful souls. If you are struggeling with those symptoms please learn about the subject HIGH SENSITIVITY.! I have found out about it last year and it answerd so many questions, solved so many problems. Your are worthy of healing.!
I like your doing way I'm 26 and I guess I have ADHD which made me go through depression through those years without knowing the causes...i can't do my daily routines tasks like cleaning my room and my body is really struggling I want to find a planner to help me make it better Thanx for sharing
Love this vid + beautiful spread. I'm definitely going to look into BetterHelp - I recently moved from Toronto to a much smaller city and I'm having a hard time finding a therapist who specializes in what I need. Thanks for helping to break the stigma
I'm so glad that psychotherapy is covered by health insurance in Germany. Everybody should get the help they need no matter their income. Just discovered you and subscribed. 🙂
I have recently found your channel and I love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. 💜 I also suffer from mental illness. 💜 Also, I LOVE you're a fan of Star Wars. 🥰 Lol
hello it means a lot to me that you've shared this video about Mental Health Stuff. it can be so scary to talk about it!! i really love this spread too.
Thank you 😘 It definitely can be. I feel a bit exposed putting this video out there, but I think it’s important to be honest about our struggles with mental health ❤️
Tracie L. Stimpson At the end of the day I mark down what mood was most prevalent that day, simple ones like happy, sad, anxious, calm. By tracking it in conjunction with other aspects of my life, like how much sleep I got or whether I got out for some fresh air, I’ve learned a lot about what actually influences my mental health and what doesn’t.
I’m curious, have you talked to your psychologist about Aspergers? Just listening to your story about growing up. My mother made me seek out a diagnosis after my brother was hit by a car and placed in a coma. The social worker asked her a bunch of questions about my brother, and well low and behold my mother was thinking they also applied to herself and me. She was on the phone with me that night and asked: do you think you might be autistic? I told her I have thought about it. Took me four years of jumping through hoops here in Denmark to get diagnosed. Had to fail a lot of things before they accepted more might be at play.
Plant Based Bride from you’ve said about eating disorder, depression, I think in another was bipolar(?), being highly sensitive, social anxiety, are some of the things women/girls are diagnosed with before Aspergers diagnosis. The women diagnosis is way different from boys/men. If you’re curious, theAspieWorld in here, purple Ella, and invisible i along with Tony Attwood videos. Oh and I love Star Wars. My favorite Character as a child was Luke, as an adult I liked Han Solo. New movies made me love the characters Kenobi. Have a great evening

What is the value of tracking mood? I have many moods throughout the day and I can’t see how doing this an be helpful. Why do people track mood?
