Work then play is so great! You get your school/job/productive wise tasks done first and then you can relax for the remaining hours of the day, you don't have to feel guilty about watching TV for 4 hours because you've already been productive!
Plant Based Bride great video! I’ve been teaching my son some of these techniques, the earlier you learn how to manage your time, the more productive you become as an adult. Thanks
Productivity tip from someone with medical limitations: Break down a task in multiple steps. Even if only one step gets done, I consider that a success.
I 100% agree with less is more in terms of habit tracking. I've kept up with my habit trackers more consistently this year as I've halved the number of habits I'm tracking. It feels much less like a chore now!
I used my ideal day to build my habit tracker. I was able to figure out where in my day I am able to add a new habit I want to track. My habit tracker is somewhat tide to my schedule.
I used my ideal day to build my habit tracker. I was able to figure out where in my day I am able to add a new habit I want to track. My habit tracker is somewhat tide to my schedule.
It's really interesting that you suggest planning the next day the night before. I've always had to resist the urge to do that because when I plan ahead, I often set unrealistic goals. In the evening, I find it hard to gauge what is a realistic focus or set of tasks for the next day. Getting up each morning and making my daily to-do list has actually worked a lot better for me. I guess it depends on the person!
That’s so interesting! You definitely have to find what works best for you ☺️ I find I spend way too much time planning and not enough time actually doing if I leave it for the morning 😂
For a lot of people the morning is also their most productive time, so they would want to use that for their tasks, instead of planning those tasks. I'm more like you though, I overestimate my own abilities almost all the time, plan for the upcoming day (or week) before that starts and then wake up exhausted or something and unable to do all my tasks, which stresses me out. For me planning out my appointments ahead and having a list on the side for tasks to do when I am able works best :)
I might try a brain dump weekly page where I write all I could do and the specifically write on my dailies what I have to do, and then specify in the morning which extra things I can accomplish
I still don’t understand how you don’t have more subscribers, you’re one of my favourite bujo TH-camrs! You always do unique sections that makes you different ❤️😍

another tip for productivity: watch this video or a similar video that motivates you! i like to put on youtube videos or music in the background if i'm doing a more casual task, like setting up a new month in my bullet journal and i actually got a lot done! i will definitely be using the running task list this upcoming month!
I am new to bullet journaling and really enjoyed watching your channel. It is so easy to follow and emulate. I love the elaborate spreads for 2020, absolutely fantastic. I struggle to find a way to be more productive daily. It always feels like I have no time at the end of the day to complete unacomplished tasks. Then I realised that so many lengthy tasks were not recorded anywhere. So rather than throw away my 'to do list', I keep an account of everything I do. When I look back at the tasks completed I have a real sense of satisfaction. Especially when I deal with emergencies which take a long time and i need to keep a note of what I do. Last week I found my neighbour's cat had passed away, (probably from a heart attack) whilst he was at work. So I called him and asked him to come home. I called the local vet for details of cremation options. When he got home, distraught, I gave him the options I had made a note of. Then I arranged for his other cat to have a health check by the vet and scheduled an appointment, all this whilst I needed emergency dental treament!! But having recorded all my actions made me realise that I actually wanted to acknowledge the deceased cat in my journal so have set up a page where I record memories about her. The surviving cat needs to take anti biotics for a week so I have reorded the medication and dosage in my journal. We have also discussed rehoming a cat or kitten so I have details of all investigations in my jounral. The charities and adoption fees etc. Also noted the high prices being charged for kittens!! and the number of unadopted black cats :(. Very sad. I think I will keep journals for the cats themselves so I can easily record and access information about them. Thank you so much for all that you have shared. It has been an inspiration. looking forward to future installments :)
I just discovered your channel, and this particular video filled a need I’ve felt since picking up BuJo’ing recently. The Ryder Carrol way doesn’t quite work for me, and the overly artistic ones confuse me a little. These productivity tips might very well be the answers I’ve been looking for! Thank you!
I can NEVER EVER finish my habit trackers! And I love running weeklies and my weekly setup is a lot like yours at the moment. I love your tracker suggestion and I'm definitely trying that! Great video as always!
I've been following you for a while now and I have been bullet journaling for years, but I think this is one of the most useful videos I've watched. Plus, this weekly layout is perfect and looks so pretty!
I just started my first bullet journal and this video is a GODSEND. I really want to maximize what my journal can do for me, and your tips are just what I'm looking for! Thank you!
Needless to say, your channel is blowin up! Just found you a day ago, and have been watchin all your past videos. Enjoy the fact you don't take yourself so seriously and you just have good entertaining videos. Congratulations on your success. You deserve it!
I have such a hard time being efficent. I notice if I dont get my "me" time in the am, (just quiet, no TV or music, while drinking my coffee,) I have a hard time getting motivated. If its loud when I wake up I get grumpy and I notice I get less done. Wake up, make the bed, start your me time, quiet room, coffee, making a list and going over bujo first thing while only allowing myself 1 hr to do these things. I have been trying to do the ideal set up too.
I’m the same! I need to get up early enough to have a quiet few minutes with coffee before I jump into the day otherwise I resent starting to work haha
Funnily for me, I have between 7 and 12 habit trackers a month, depending on the habits, and it works fine for me. But a few are: did I study? Did I eat healthy? Did I shower? Less to build habits from scratch and more to keep track of habits that I ought to have. I’ve also coupled a reward system for this and a bonus for when I do the habit x times a week (for some habits it is 3x a week, some are daily). This does seem te help me.
thanks for the mention of routine helping with productivity. It finally sank in for me. When I worked outside of the home routine was critical but now that I am home my days have been really random. I needed this.
I track only four things and it's on my monthly page - easily done, just like Ryder does. One is because my DH asks for it - "I think we go to the restaurant too much." "OK, just track it and we'll see" - not the $ part, just the days. Another one is if I spent more than one hour in my craft room - I want to play every day. The last two are for medications (acid reflux & Ménière) I asked the GP to cut off but we have to go slowly and see if I have any side effects; so it's coloured if I take it and an P over the square if I have problems. Some people track their routine one by one or even their exercise routine one by one and I think it's too much. At 11:20 you show an ideal day and I think that's a great idea. I'll try to make one for myself, except for when we travel I have a good routine during the day. TFS Nicole
I feel more productive already after watching this video! I also feel more productive when I don't assign so many things. Then I feel great when I have accomplished more than I thought!
6:03 made me a little embarrased, I'm starting my bullet journal to get a grip on my depression home caused by PPD. Some days my priority task is to do a load of laundry😅, if that is the one thing I get done that day I did at least something. I'm excited to start having bigger tasks abd theb some secondary but first babysteps.
Oh!! What a great idea to make an ideal day!! I've been trying to do something like that, but had no idea how to do it, so I mostly got confused and frustrated. Making an ideal day as a concept (not as a "I need every day to be like this") is exactly what I need!
Omg that is a fantastic weekly spread! I gave up on weekly spreads because I didn’t like the layout and I wasn’t filling them in properly, but that looks fantastic. I can imagine that most of the time I’ll continue to use the daily logs, but on weeks where my schedule is packed that rolling task list looks amazing!
I definitely think planning ahead makes you way more productive. However another thing would be a weekly reviews As for bujo tips, I’d say having a ‘waiting for’ spread. It’s where you put things that you are waiting for (whether it be things you delegated or actions coworkers need to take, etc)
Thank you for this video!! Loved what you said about dropping the habit tracker. I made this same decision recently. I'm interested adding an ideal day page and appreciate you sharing all your hints and tips!
I've been really loving your videos lately! IT really stands out that you're doing what you love! I don't have tips but I have questions 😂 Does it overwhelm you that now that you have a bigger notebook, you have extra space for new tasks but no tasks to fill that space? Also, are you thinking about making a video in the future talking about brands and brand deals? It would be really useful to know your tips about that. Love you and your vibe 💕
Aw thank you! So kind ❤️ hmm I don’t think so! I’m loving having more room on each page ☺️ I definitely could make a video like that! Are there specific questions/topics you’d want me to cover?
Plant Based Bride Thank you! Like, how to talk to a brand for example, because sometimes I want to know if they are open for a brand deal but I can’t dm them and say “are you open for a brand deal?” you know 😂 Also how to put yourself out there so brands notice you, and how to get sponsors (all the process and stuff). There are a lot of people that want to take that step but they just don’t know how, and your video might help!
Thank you for this video. I have a trouble with maximizing my bullet journal for productivity and stop procrastination. I think I was into the art aspect but forgot about what the bullet journals serves for my main purpose.
1 Brain Dump I do have this but it is very foofy and imaginative so it doesn't translate to tasks. It does clear my mind. I do sprinkle tasks into long term, 2020, monthly, and rolling weekly. 2. I do the rolling weekly but I like the idea of not writing it over and over and leaving it in the weekly section. 3. I love trackers! I have them in a separate place taking them out of task lists. 4. Swallowing the frog Hmmm 5. Overloaded schedule Sometimes there's no avoiding it and then I use different colors and highlighters to stop it from feeling overwhelming. 6. Time blocking I should try this. 7. 25min/ 5min break I do multitask ... hmm ... In this way I end up doing some things half-fast. 8. I do plan the night before. It helps. 9. I have distractions down. 10. I have a morning routine that helps. I don't know if I can make myself have more.
I like the 4 tasks per day idea. I tend to have very big tasks (like research essay or study for exam) and get so scared of it I forget to break it down. Breaking it down into 4 tasks (1 main + 3 sub) will help I think.
Very helpfyl. I need and like the minimal approach. I get overwhelmed with too much going on. I especially like the flexibility with completion of tasks. That works for me. I am new to this. Just bought supplies and will watch this video again and begin.
I’m so glad to hear that! I sometimes shift the time (sometimes I work for 45 minutes and take 15 minutes off) but it’s always effective to help me stay more focused while I’m working ☺️
Great tips as always! I've been using the running weekly since I saw your video of it and it's been great! I also use the pomodoro technique for writing and it's the best because I can focus for those 25 min in a specific scene or chapter and in the 5/10 min of rest let my brain relax, when it's time for the next 25 min my brain can focus again on the next scene
Aw that’s great! I love hearing that the running weekly is working for so many of you☺️ That sounds perfect! I usually use it while editing because it can get a bit tedious at times haha
I do enjoy this tips and I'll be making use of them. For the Pomodoro technique rather than use my phone I use the Forest app. :) You plant an adorable mini forest and the coins you save from each successful session you can save to buy new plants and save for helping to plant real life trees with their affiliate charity. :)
@@PlantBasedBride I love it so much. Though if you exit the app before time it'll kill the tree. You can purchase a full version that you can select apps and whatnot that you allow use of during study. I loved it so much I invested in the full version. 😄
Fantastic suggestions! I specially loved the idea of focusing on the Eat the frog task, and then the top 3 task. Also loved time blocking on the weekle spread. Ive struggled so much with keeping up w a BUJO. Had some frustrating times where I got lost in the esthetics and drifted from being productive. This time I want to focus on spreads that help me be more productive and organized, while making it pretty of course 🤣🤗.
So many great tips! I will try the one thing to do to feel accomplishment that day. As for me, these days I am writing what I've been eating that month on a separate page. Unless I go on Pinterest regularly, I forget a lot of things I like to make and eat. Even simple stuff. Sounds weird I know. So I hope that writing my meals down will encourage me to keep them healthy and also help me next year to remember because I tend to eat seasonally. Not a do to list or tracker, more like a type of brain dump in reverse lol
Great video! i don’t really have any tips, i just like writing lists and checking them off as i do them - helps me feel like i’ve accomplished something haha! i’ve even been known to write things i’ve already completed just to scratch them off as done! weirdly; can i say that the number on your mailbox is very overwhelming? 🙈 i dislike the little number symbols on the icons - hahaha!
Haha I do the same sometimes! It’s just so satisfying to cross things off 😂 Oh, I totally agree! I get so many emails a day it’s hard to stay on top of them all 😅 I’m working on getting to inbox zero but it’s quite a journey!
I'm so glad I found someone with similar views as mine about the bujo... I do the month rolling rather than week but that was because I had my college exams and vacation so I didn't really had much to do... But now with the college starting and new schedule I'm taking a lot of tips from you. 😄
This video was really helpful, thank you! I'm just about to set up my new weekly spread an will try some of your ideas. I do have trouble getting things done, so I hope your tips help me be more disciplined and mindful with my time.
I'm watching way after this was originally posted but I love it! I never heard of the swallow the frog method, but I'm definitely going to give it a try, along with mapping out my ideal day... I work from home too and procrastination is a problem!
Nice tips! Also, I know you're not a child (and I'm a year younger than you are, so I'm not an old granny or anything lol), but I got a "Oh how cute"-feeling when you were planning on your bed.
I’d like to suggest Be Focused (Pro) instead of the timer. It can schedule time blocks and breaks along with how many blocks before a long break. I love this app for structuring my day. Along with routinist but that is for my morning and night routines so I know when I should go to sleep and when I should get up to get my husband to work on time. It’s an autistic thing for me. Has a learning curve but after about 30 min to learn and a set up of about 30 min it’s done, and every morning just check things off.
Oh thank you so much! I’ll definitely check out the app. Routines really are the best! It can be hard for me to get into them, but once I do it’s amazing. 🤗
My journal I do by monthly and my tasks are done like a roll on weekly. I just cut the edge off of 3 pages. I got my dates on bottom page next page left is my work schedule by month and next page left is my monthly tasks and cut even further down the page is habit trackers. I don’t want to re write the by week and I am new to journaling busy full time working mom
Just curious, for your "habit tracker" when you list it with your tasks and the brackets, do you put a bullet under each day you did it? I am having a hard time understanding how you track them within your task list...
Hi. Great video! I'm trying my first week as a rolling weekly like you do it. And the idea of putting the tracker intro the tasklist instead of an actual tracker sound so smart! But I'm still not 100% sure how you use it. Here I'm thinking how you use in practice. So I was wondering if you would consider making a video about or maybe put in on your instagram? I hope my comment made sense, and that you still check out the comments on the old videos ;) Have a great day, and thank you fir your helpful tips! Greetings from Denmark! /Gunilla
Thank you for letting me know! I’ll add that. Edit: I just checked and the video was already linked in the cards! Tap the “i” icon in the upper right hand corner to see the cards ☺️
What is the name of the system you used for your tasks? I would like to use it in my bujo, but I need to know a bit about it and I don't know how I can find it in Internet :)
Do you mean the rolling weekly/running task list? I have a video explaining it on my channel! It’s linked in the cards (the little i on the top right hand corner of the video) 😌
Daily logs are supposed to always be an on-going brain dump. Not to mention morning/evening reflection, and monthly migration. You don't need to have a weekly task list, writing a task under a certain day doesn't assign it to that day. Tasks aren't meant to be rewritten every day, tasks can be written under Monday and not finished until Thursday. For habit tacking, use your monthly log. Frog and star for important are both good advice. To avoid assigning too many tasks to a day, don't assign tasks to any certain day. For time blocking, yes Pomodoro can be very helpful, but don't limit it to only 25 and 5 minutes, try different amounts to see what works for you. If you aren't focusing on the task at hand, stop and ask yourself why; just saying you shouldn't is invalidating yourself. If you're looking at your journal at night anyway, take some time to reflect on the current day, what happened and how you felt. Of course, routines are good. Honestly? Read "The Bullet Journal Method", you might like it.
Plant Based Bride , many people don’t bother to say where they get their concepts from, and it starts a chain reaction into the abyss of, “who said what.” It’s actually in copyright law to state the original source. Otherwise its called “plagiarism”, which is illegal. Not trying to be a butthead, really. I’m just a huge advocate against copyright infringement. Also, there is a benefit to sharing original resources. For example, “Eat That Frog” is actually a very good book for those trying to learn how to prioritize and organize their lives. I highly recommend it. 👍🏼

I do have this but it is very foofy and imaginative so it doesn't translate to tasks.
4. Swallowing the frog
Hmmm
5. Overloaded schedule
Sometimes there's no avoiding it and then I use different colors and highlighters to stop it from feeling overwhelming.
6. Time blocking
I should try this.
7. 25min/ 5min break
I do multitask ... hmm ... In this way I end up doing some things half-fast.
8. I do plan the night before. It helps.
9. I have distractions down.
10. I have a morning routine that helps. I don't know if I can make myself have more.
Your folding Dutch door alternative is awesome 👏
I like the 4 tasks per day idea. I tend to have very big tasks (like research essay or study for exam) and get so scared of it I forget to break it down. Breaking it down into 4 tasks (1 main + 3 sub) will help I think.
Very helpfyl. I need and like the minimal approach. I get overwhelmed with too much going on. I especially like the flexibility with completion of tasks. That works for me. I am new to this. Just bought supplies and will watch this video again and begin.
I’m so glad it was helpful!
I've never heard of the Pomodero Method before but that definitely seems like something that will help me out.
Oh my goodness that app sounds perfect! *off to download right now*
@@PlantBasedBride I love it so much. Though if you exit the app before time it'll kill the tree. You can purchase a full version that you can select apps and whatnot that you allow use of during study. I loved it so much I invested in the full version. 😄
thanks for making this vid! i'm really struggling with productivity rn so i'm definitely going to try these techniques
I hope they help you out! 🤗
I’m so glad these suggestions resonated with you!
That’s a great idea! I get in food ruts often myself. I may need to try something like this!
It’s just so satisfying to cross things off 😂
Oh, I totally agree! I get so many emails a day it’s hard to stay on top of them all 😅 I’m working on getting to inbox zero but it’s quite a journey!
Thanks for this great bullet journal productivity 🤗 this will help me with my new career role as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm so glad I found someone with similar views as mine about the bujo... I do the month rolling rather than week but that was because I had my college exams and vacation so I didn't really had much to do... But now with the college starting and new schedule I'm taking a lot of tips from you. 😄
Nice! I’m happy you could get some ideas from this one!
The rolling weekly is a game changer!!
It’s so helpful! I hope it works for you ❤️
Nice tips!
Also, I know you're not a child (and I'm a year younger than you are, so I'm not an old granny or anything lol), but I got a "Oh how cute"-feeling when you were planning on your bed.
I love your minimal style! Great video :)
Thank you!
I find it easier to write a brain dump on my phone! It really helps in my productivity with my BuJo
Great advice!!! Thank you, thank you so much!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so glad you found the tips helpful!
All great tips, thank you!
Thanks so much!
I love this video so very much! You gave me some really great ideas! Thank you so much!
I'm so glad! 🥰
Also, peach looks so good on you :)
Can you do a video on what to do if you don’t like your spreads that month and want to change them?
So so much effective Ideas 🇧🇩😇
My journal I do by monthly and my tasks are done like a roll on weekly. I just cut the edge off of 3 pages. I got my dates on bottom page next page left is my work schedule by month and next page left is my monthly tasks and cut even further down the page is habit trackers. I don’t want to re write the by week and I am new to journaling busy full time working mom
That’s a great solution! I have an aversion to cutting pages but it’s something I should probably try at some point 😂
Very helpful I am going to try this method 🌈
great tips!
Subbed right away,
Hello lovely from Sydney Australia. Fabulous tips. Thank you! 💙
Hello from Toronto! I’m glad you found the tips helpful ❤️
I subscribed ❤ just saw your channel and OH MAH GAWD IM OBSESSED ! ❤ Bujo Queen ❤🥀
Aw thank you! Welcome 🥰❤️
Can u please make a video ONLY on ur Ideal day and go into detail on the Setup/design AND the intention behind that please
Her: don’t over do it on the trackers
Me: looking at bucket journal, but trackers are the only things I have in here
Just curious, for your "habit tracker" when you list it with your tasks and the brackets, do you put a bullet under each day you did it? I am having a hard time understanding how you track them within your task list...
Hi. Great video! I'm trying my first week as a rolling weekly like you do it. And the idea of putting the tracker intro the tasklist instead of an actual tracker sound so smart! But I'm still not 100% sure how you use it. Here I'm thinking how you use in practice. So I was wondering if you would consider making a video about or maybe put in on your instagram? I hope my comment made sense, and that you still check out the comments on the old videos ;) Have a great day, and thank you fir your helpful tips!
Greetings from Denmark!
/Gunilla
you neeed the Pomodoro Timer app
This is so helpful! Merci 😊
So glad! De rien ❤️
What does the folding weekly spread called?!
Awesome video! :)
Thank you!
Minimizing distractions is my biggest issue!
Of all the links (a lot) you listed, you didn't list the "Rolling" weekly link you mentioned you would (1:21).
Thank you for letting me know! I’ll add that. Edit: I just checked and the video was already linked in the cards! Tap the “i” icon in the upper right hand corner to see the cards ☺️
@@PlantBasedBride By cards, do you mean the embeded videos/links within this video (toward the end)?
@@PlantBasedBride Ohhhh, I see now... That's new to me. Thanks!
Hey, I thought it was only me fill bullet journal on bed 😂
This video was very helpful and I am going to try your tips... 🤩
So glad to hear it! 🤗
Thank you so much! It's really helpful for me :)
I'm still at brain dumping,
the part where she said if you're new to bullet journalling you'll keep trackers thinking it'd help you a lot,,,,,, ma'am im sorry
Huh?
@@PlantBasedBride im a beginner who's into making trackers lmao i felt attacked
I know the original method, but I have adjusted it to fit how my brain works 🙂
I can’t understand why would people put wash dishes or take out the trash on their planner lol it’s automatic for me.. but hey each to their own
People also put things like brush teeth and take a shower 🤷♀️ everyone’s BuJo is different and that’s the point of a customizable system.
Please give credit where credit is due. The “Swallow that Frog” concept comes from Brian Tracy. He actually wrote the book called, “Eat That Frog”.
I definitely wasn’t claiming I invented the concept! Just like I didn’t invent time blocking or the pomodoro technique.
