You are truly amazing with the cool stuff you have collected. Great piece to add to your collection. Love the historical information you brought to this one. GD
Thank you good sir! I have many interests within the hobby all the while trying to draw everything together! hahaha I appreciate you stopping by and watching my friend!
I really enjoyed this video! I liked the way you explained the design and history of the coin. You're very knowledgeable and easy to listen to. Subbed!
I seen on another video, the fella said about the chop marks, back in the day they would chop the coin to make sure it was real. He was showing a similar coin that had several chop marks on it.
That is a correct statement. Chopmarks were popular in the orient when coins would arrive the merchants would stamp it after testing to make sure the content was accurate. Thanks for watching!
Nice score bro! I can’t understand why someone would send a chopmarked coin to Ngc when they won’t straight grade them. Kinda looks like it might be cleaned too but if not crack and send to Pcgs
Def prolly cleaned at come point. Most of these were. Ya I assume they sent it for authentication purposes or something along those lines. Anyhow, thanks for watching brother!
I have only one! 1749... I also have the "4bit" coin = to a half dollar and about the same size as a bust half and the 2 bit piece! All have the same design and I decided to have all three coins as a set in my collection... What a lovely design and they really look good all together side by side!
This coin is FANTASTIC! I see some imagery that makes me believe a Free Mason had a say in design! ( I say that as a 32nd degree mason). That being said...This coin is now on my list of wanted coins!
Awesome to hear my friend! I love when a coin has some meaning behind it to someone! Thanks for stopping by sorry for the late response to your comment.
I recommend doing your research first. If you are unfamiliar with what type of coins you have start with the Redbook and go from there. The internet has a wealth of information as well some good some bad. You could always bring your coins in to a LCS and get their opinion. Hope that helps and GL!
These coins hold so much fascination for me... thanks for wetting my appetite 👍🏾& congratulations on this acquisition
Thanks brother! Ya no doubt, just screams treasure!
