What if I do not want a course grind, but i want a fine grind of rice? Even after 1 hour, this grinder is not able to grind a 12 hour soaked rice into a fine ground rice. The old Ultra grinder was an excellent make. This lock mechanism is not really holding the stone intact to get the rice to gind to a fine ground paste!! Really disappointed!!!

This is a very bad model. The urud dal soaked for 2 hours is not getting grinded into batter properly. It is just leaving a lot of the dal as full grains even after 20 mins of grinding.
Buy the older models with proper cylindrical container. This conical container is a design issue.

This is the worst model of ultra grinder.
I have been using ultra model wet grinder for the the past 10 years. I wanted to change the old grinder with the latest bigger volume model. So I bought this model from Girias on OMR Chennai. For the past few months that I have been using this model, neither the urud dal not the rice gets completely grinded. The urud dal (that I normally soak for 1.5 hours for my old ultra machine) is not perfectly grinded in this new machine inspite of soaking for 2 hours. The flat surface of the stone head has a lot of dal batter stuck without moving anywhere. The shape of the container is not helping move this. So some of the dal remains in full size even after grinding for 20 minutes.
Only if we constantly keep our hand inside to push the batter away from the stone head, the dal bleven breaks. This makes the urud dal batter heat up.
This is not a good model. Please don't go for the slanting cylinder. Buy an older model of ultra. It would be better.
