Oh my gosh... She's an extremely "ungrateful" woman. South Korea saved, raised, educated, and sent her to the U.S. for further studies with lots of financial and institutional support that is never given to other S. Korean citizens. This video made me very skeptical about humanity and her personality.

I was engaged to a Korean woman long time ago, we did it for five years, and I was madly in love with this woman, but her parents did not want her to marry me because I wasn’t white, so they made her choose between me or them, and if you know, Korean culture, family is never going to go against family, so she left me, she didn’t want to, but she said her family was more important than me, but I lost a great woman solely because of the color of my skin so, which she says is very true.
I went through the exact same situation. You didn't lose a great woman. If you guys are really compatible then a break up is simply impossible. Koreans are good at appearances, and they have social issues no one would hope to fix.

I'm a filipina born in America and came out here to South Korea to teach English for a year. In my experience, she's so correct. I got really disrespected and discriminated for what I looked like (Asian but not korean).. but they failed to see that I am American at heart and mind, and well-educated, regardless of my skin color..I got treated so terribly and was paid the lowest compared to the other foreign teachers.. i was even turned down a teaching job for being "Asian" like ok, seriously?? 😔 it was a nightmare.

I’m a Filipina Living in Korea for 5 years now. I often Hear “Oh you don’t look like from Philippines. You look Korean because you are beautiful 😅 Well it’s because I have pointed nose and white complexion. I often don’t know whether to feel insulted or be thankful. Well living in a country for a few years is enough to see how racist a country is. There are different types of racism, sure. But you don't even need a few years to feel that a country has a racism issue.

She held back telling you the full extent of racism in S.Korea. I travelled a lot there around 2007 to 2009. I had made many good Korean friends in college and wanted to see them. I was very interested in Korean culture, history, and language, however visiting S.Korea quickly changed that. Following Thumper's moms advice, I have nothing good to say, so will stop myself right here. But they basically look down on most of the world and openly show racism like its normal and acceptable.
But what really annoys me is S.Koreans love to travel and expect the world to be warm and welcoming hosts to them, however they are terrible hosts to visiting foreigners.

As a south korean i confirm that no matter how long years you live in this country if you dont look like them or behave differently (me speaking fluent english cuz i lived at S.Carolina when i was a kid) You will be a outsider for your rest of your life not able to interact or blend in completely in the society. You will be always treated like a foreign outsider or a guest no matter how long or how fluent your korean is. Thats the truth.
I realized this when i was walking down the streets with my girl (white) and cuz i was speaking english with her the whole time. and the atmosphere and treatment is way different towards me when i speak and act 100% korean when i am alone. Yes i went to elementry, mid, high and even uni here and still i can feel it.
However the discrimination toward Thai people makes logical sense cuz 60% of them right now at korea are illigal immigrants who came with the tourist visa. They usually come through JEJU island cuz its visa free for that island (its like Guam or Hawaii of kor). Then they take the boat to the mainland and vanish. 1.6million illigal thai people at S.Kor Thats the reason for thai people.

As a Chinese living in US, I maybe wrong but I have made friends with more than 10 Koreans, some are my dorm neighbors, some are my lab mate, some are my colleagues. I never feel discriminated. China is also a poor country in terms of income per capital. So my point is I really don’t feel the “racist” in Korean. Some times I even feel Taiwan people is more racist.

My family business took the VIP customers to South Korea trip in the 2000s and we are from Thailand. We had one tour guide accompanying us from Thailand and another one local guide from South Korea. The local one looked down on us so much and was hardly civil so the whole tour collectively decided to give the total bonus to the Thai guide instead of splitting it half-half between the two guides as originally planned. Never seen someone regretted their behavior so badly as soon as she found out (we gave the bonus to the Thai guide on the bus a day before we left and her eyes lit up when she saw the thick envelope). On the last day she tried to act nice so hard in the hopes of getting some, but too little too late. If you look down on the SE Asians from poor country then our money is too good for you. 😂

I am 56 years old from Thailand and remember the days when South Korea was poorer than Thailand and came to my country in those days South Korea was struggling to survive and we never insulted them by racism at all. I live in South Korea, racism means different things. In the United States, racism means physical attacks, brutality, murder, assault, rape. In South Korea, racism means an ajeossi giving you a dirty look from across the aisle in a subway train or being turned away by an ajumma at a restaurant because she cant speak English or a bouncer turning you away at a club because foreign clientele have been a nuisance in the past. All non-verbal, non-violent racism. I'd rather take the latter than the former.

This is actually true. Even though i like kpop and kdramas but the reality is that i dont really like in general the way their system is, in terms of power, politics, ideals, beliefs, and rights to equality. (Racism, discrimination and whatnots should i say they tend to normalize which is not good. They have this kind of quick-juding personality that even their own keen don't like the way they have this kind of environment or society).
I am proud of my country even though we have our own issues and problems here but one thing that i couldn't more proud is that we Filipinos are open minded that no one should be above the law. (I have watched so many videos and documentaries. I find it kinda like problematic and mentality is far from what the medias shown. The dark side of it is actually shocking).
