It does not depend on the demography, it depends on the family background, the way my brother's kid speaks and how I speak there is a lot of difference, we are first generation graduates we studied in our mother tongue only in graduation we studied in English, the generation next to our generation got good education in our family, some of my classmate had good communication skills in English, they were from wealthy family back ground even there grandmother were Postgraduates.
I'm from New Delhi and I stayed in Korea for a month during July. What Seetha said about Latinos and Indians having similar looks but one being fetishized and the other being frowned upon is so true. I would go to clubs and men would assume I'm a Latina (Brazilian or Spanish). The way they would change the way they talked to me or treated me the moment I would tell them I'm Indian was insane. They would shift from being interested (even desperate sometimes) to being dismissive in an instant. Also, I didn't really face as much racism as my black roommate. I would mostly get taxis without trouble but whenever I was with her, the taxis would almost never stop for us /: I hope the younger generation of Korea really changes the way their country treats people from other countries who have nothing but love and respect for Korea's culture, country, and people. Xenophobia is so prevalent in Korea unless they're dealing with a race they fetishize.

I am a brown south Indian. This one time I entered a Japanese store... The lady was racially profiling me like as if I was about steal something...Although I saw other helpers around, I specifically called her to get me a pair of slippers... When she pointed the slipper rack, I asked her to search for size 9 , Just so I can watch her search for my slippers and make her understand the importance of a customer regardless of his/her ethnicity . Probably one of the most satisfying lesson I thought a racist store keeper.
Japanese shoe sizes are in centimeters. And nobody in Japan is dumb enough to have to ask a clerk to buy slippers. You get treated the way you get treated because you looked suspicious.

People used to call me by bad words in starting but everything got better in just few days, but in Korea like I was dating a guy in Seoul we were holding hands and we were in a elevator but not even a single person entered the elevator after seeing both of us together they left... We were sitting in a cafe talking normally and a men came to US and he said very harsh and racist things to us especially to me. I felt way more happier and safer in India as compared to Korea which is like so called a developed country.
Thank you for calling my city(Kolkata) liberal because I have recently moved here in Kolkata and trust me I never faced racism here infact the young generation is very liberal and supportive. 👍👍👍

Bogus. Since when are Indians nice to east Asians? All I hear when I come near a group of Indians are them mocking east Asian facial features. Give me a break. Now that Korea has had some commercial success, everyone wants a piece of it and if they can't, they want to bring it down.
I wish the others had been as upfront and clear as the girl in purple top and she seems well traveled. She was able to pick on all the micro-agressions. She made a valid point about latinas being fetishized while Indians are looked down upon. It seemed like some of the incidents others described were racist but they weren't able to differentiate until unless it is something direct. The girl in the white sweater seemed extremely desperate to fit in. Yet sadly Indians these days are obsessed with Korean content.
I'm in France at the moment and I would say the same similar to that purple dress girl. I can say we are seen worldwide in a very bad light except USA and UK where they are more used to seeing Indians. The Arab world, East Asians still look at us in bad light. Only black Africans treat us well but there are some are still racists. Oh boy the worst are those North Africans, Morrocans are chill but the rest are horrible.

i liked the purple top girl responses straight to the point no sugarcoating she might not be Indian i mean nationality wise (assumed from her real accented words i might be wrong) yet she was more upfront of the stereotype brown people face in Korea, yet the rest tried to be more passive aggressive and played safe like their experiences might not that be bad but if they had tried to talk in more genuine and approach manner without trying too hard on that accent then it would have been understandable. experiences differ from person to person yet purple top lady and brown top lady actually were sensible.

In India we aren't any better to people who look different than us. Look how the northeastern states are treated in other parts of India and how the non locals are treated in the Northeast. I personally subscribe to some Indian TH-camrs living in Korea, and I like India. And I'm always amazed at how many fantasies and fears there are about Korea. In particular, it is always surprising to read Korean-related videos or comments on TH-cam and TikTok. It's limited to know about a country. Some videos, interviews, incidents, and comments are not everything. Just to be honest, some Koreans are prejudiced and rude. It is similar to any country and Korea is not special. Of course, what is wrong must be Change. Recently, the characteristic of Korean society is that nationalism and anti-nationalism are together. What is unusual about Korea is that it always makes endless criticism of its country. I know quite a few East Asian countries, but I have never seen anyone as endlessly bringing out the dark side of their country as Koreans. For example, even with movies like Parasite and Squid games. It shows the dark side that other countries don't want to show. Romance dramas, on the other hand, show sweet fantasies. This is a characteristic of Korean society. Everything goes to extremes. The reality is in between. Korea is neither heaven nor hell. However, from my experience, Korea is a safe, convenient, and attractive country in many fields. But they compete and compare too hard. It is a country with high standards of identity. The most progressive in some ways, but conservative in some ways. And there are so different personalities depending on the generation, job, and class. So it is impossible to describe Korea in one word. This country is more complicated than expected and has various aspects. So, whether you like Korea or hate it or criticize it, it's up to you. However, nothing is absolute.
Nice justification sweeping racism and colourism under the carpet with it. When racism happens with Indians or even black people in South Korea or online (the amount of disgust and disrespect South Koreans have for Indians is unreal even online, I can't imagine in person), it is termed as "culture", difficult to understand, language barrier blah blah but when the same happens with South Koreans it becomes a movement (Anti-Asian hate). Irony dies a hundred deaths every single time.

Its pretty much the same in New Zealand too in terms of accommodation. I personally believe Landowners have every right to choose who to rent their place. Not everyone likes the smell of curry. Also, I have heard stories of Black people getting turned away from accommodation in India. India is not a saint place as these Indians claims. Every country has its own share of racism we humans are inherently racist. That's the unfortunate reality. If you don't like it go back to your own nation no one is stopping anyone from leaving right.
You have a point, but there should be an effort to understand and adjust. Compromise from both sides. The world is becoming a melting pot of cultures now, so it is not really okay to say xyz "if you don't like it go back to your country." That is very regressive thinking in today's world. For example, today USA is where it is because of the Indian brains to a large extent, brilliant Indians lured to the promised land for the last 100 years. So, if everyone of them were told not to eat 'curry' or leave the country, where would US be now?

I do understand integration goes both ways but you do have to realise not every nation is keen on having immigrants and wants to preserve their culture and I don't find anything wrong with that. Some things can be cultural too what is normal in some societies might be considered racist in others so it's the responsibility of immigrants to study the culture of the host nation before they migrate. The US is a blend of different cultures but Korea is more of a homogeneous society so we can't really compare. Idk why the comments are kinda negative. They said both good and bad and good more. It's not just Korea, you'll have both good and bad experience in every country. It depends on so many factors and also on you. Are you respecting their culture? Trying to understand and adapt it while you're living in their country? Like in many countries showing cleavage is pretty normal but in South Korea even collar bones are seen as something not so decent but you can wear tiniest skirts. You cannot just show up showing your b... and expect them to accept it just like that. Also, there is so much underlying conception there, like there perception of white being superior and Indians as poor and dirty lead to their reaction, which isn't completely their fault. Even in your country you'll face rude and disgusting people unless it's heaven. Then their weird attachment with beauty standards, it doesn't even relieve their own people. They think the more beautiful you are, the more good of a person you are. And their beauty has a lot to do with skin colour. Most people who respect the culture have received that in return. Telling you to be beautiful, or your dress is so pretty, or your korean is so good that you're practically a korean now is also something people have heard from them.

In India we aren't any better to people who look different than us. Look how the northeastern states are treated in other parts of India and how the non locals are treated in the Northeast. How the South are treated in the North and vice versa.
It's universal and we all have to do better to acknowledge our differences in looks, culture, food habits (as i can see some commenting that Koreans eat everything that breathes).

However, nothing is absolute.
now I agreee with this

Nice justification sweeping racism and colourism under the carpet with it. When racism happens with Indians or even black people in South Korea or online (the amount of disgust and disrespect South Koreans have for Indians is unreal even online, I can't imagine in person), it is termed as "culture", difficult to understand, language barrier blah blah but when the same happens with South Koreans it becomes a movement (Anti-Asian hate). Irony dies a hundred deaths every single time.

@@Anione111 I do agree with the concept of respecting each other culture. But when someone decides to come to my home its their responsibility to respect my way of life not the other way around coz no one has invited them in the first place. It was their choice to visit which is fine. I am not justifying racism here all I am trying to say not everything that you see or hear is racist just because it's different to what someone is used to in their home country.
@@viktormunez6692 The decision to allow immigrants is that of the govt. The citizens have a problem with that, they need to take it up with their govt, not show their displeasure to towards the immigrants. Reg your comment - it's the responsibility of immigrants to study the culture of the host nation before they migrate. Sure, no one is denying that. The issue here is not of the immigrants interfering with or insulting the host countries culture. It is the citizens of the host country not being open to accepting/tolerating the culture, physical appearance, "smell", food habits, etc of the immigrants. India for all its faults, not a "saint place" by any means, IS very welcoming and accepting of foreign visitors. I would love to see evidence to the contrary. Please share any video links if you can.

@@ritasrivastava4096 Umm, have you taken the Uni entrance exams in Korea? I believe that students work really hard over years to get into one of the big three Universities and there is a huge competition.
Same thing we feel as a NE indian when we live in mainland india for study or work purpose. Last time during pandemic many of our kind faced racism. Some were not even allowed to enter malls and some were spit on by some strangers on the metro and many such similar incidents happened. South korea is nothing different, they are doing racism against chinese and Japanese people too.

Most people think india is just delhi and mumbai... They forgot and don't have any idiea how diverse 1+ billion could be... India is called a sub Continent... Dude..
But true thing is India and Indians have suffered a lot by mughals and britishers...
And many tribes and tribal culture are getting destroyed nowadays because of Christian conversion...
I'm from North East , what really hurts me, when one of my k pop fan friend told me, he feels shame to call himself indian... Damn... Just by looking to some shit dramas made him like that never visited country so much that he started hating his mother land... Damn youngsters
Few youngters doesn't know the great history of India that's why they got no respect for their motherland, they always feel self special by knowing the useless fact that they know korean, they know Japanese, they know about their culture.. *My comment is only for those I have been following on Instagram and TH-cam.*
So far I have observed two people in this video through their insta, I really didn't see them representing our Culture there.
It's not just them but most of the Indians which I have been following doesn't show our culture and traditions. I've just watched Akshay proudly representing us.
Again, I am just saying that on the basis of what they upload.
So ya, I am sorry if I made a mistake here.
U are right unfortunately most of Indians living outside India ashamed of our culture not all but most of them.
But but Akshay, i love the way he respects our culture not especially Hindi
Absolutely, i too have noticed that
Also what i feel is they need to live there for years, therefore they talk good abt the place otherwise it will be difficult for them to stay
@@renukushwah4298 no i disagree , their viewership is mostly indian and they make video in English or hindi. Most Koreans can't speak or understand both languages. Yeah I do agree with cultural differences but that doesn't mean that you can frown down upon people belonging to some other country. I frequently travel to Korea and have spent a lot of time in Seoul.
Additionally, I've dated many Korean women.
I've never experienced racism there; I think it all comes down to how you act.
I've seen korean ppl getting too attracted to white colour nd they also give a lot of attention to the outer physical aspects while looking at someone, which is another reason surgeries are so famous over there. Not all koreans r like that but this is a real issue in their country.
Plastic surgery is invented by india. Though we Indians don't use plastic surgery that much.

Do you about the incident Korea girls doing wierd dance In India controversy .btw I didn't find anything wrong In it but that was wrong.even all the shit Whole Korea was saying that India is not safe Indian are like this that
@@psingh2231 Dear, everything has a bad and good side, like I said earlier. Now it's upto you where you're focusing on and what's your perception towards a situation is. We have something called confirmation bias, where we will look into those content that will confirm our assumption positively. Many Indian creators are receiving so much love from there as well. All I'm saying is the more you'll focus and affirm on negativity the more you'll attract it. Not just this, but in every phase of life. Much love and positivity to you. 🙂
@@yourangel777 your thoughts are great I really like it , I commented because in India there is a big population who is dying for Korea and Koreans I just want them to know this aspect of Korea as well. Many Indians like korean blindly without knowing what Koreans think about them
@@psingh2231 Even from my first comment it's clear that I don't think like that. Every culture has their own pros and cons. Instead of trying to nitpick other's not so good things we can learn and adapt the positive things from them. Like their mannerism, organization skills, disciplined life etc. Racism is prominently present in India as well, where even the citizens of this country has faced the discrimination throughout their life. It's better to improve ourselves rather than trying to find other's fault because it will not make us better. Also, every situation has so many perspectives and layers that it's hard to understand what exactly happened right? I completely understand and agree with your concern. Thank you. I think my comment reflects enough maturity to make it clear that I'm a very neutral kind of person who will not be biased blindly.

5:48 There’s all types of Latin Americans. The brown ones you referred to are Indigenous Americans, im a White Latin American because appearance wise it’s obvious and majority of my grandparents are immigrants from Italy, Spain, and Germany who themselves emigrated to Argentina.
even the majority of indegenous americans are lighter than vast majority of indians. idk what she meant by latinos are brown too. latinos are more light brown on average, with goldenish tan I guess. most indians are dark brown to black skinned so they're very different. there are light skinned indians too but the proportion is quite less compared to latin america. and besides the skin tone, the facial features of latinos and indians are very different. Its not just in korea that indian looks are considered low. Its across the globe as well like western countries and latinos have the sexy vibe throughout the world. those views she mentioned arent anything unique to korea.
@@yoloswag1357 Because most people don't know the truth about Latinas and their surgeries, go to the streets of any Latin American city and you will see what these Latinas look like
@@roughtough5901 Nope. In Argentina Whites are in the majority while Mestizos and Africans are in the minority. We have a higher percentage of whites than the US, think about that.
@@roughtough5901 I can see your point and I sort of agree. There’s some who’s mixed to a extent but there’s others who aren’t. There’s first gen Japanese-Brazilians in Brazil and have the highest Japanese outside of Japan, in Haiti majority of them are black, Peru has majority indigenous population, etc.
The reason why some Latinos have Asian-like features is because they are probably of indigenous american descent (or even have a direct Asian lineage from their family, it depends). Indigenous descends from Mongoloid race, they were originally from North Asia (Siberia).
@@yoloswag1357 yup! My people are considered hard working and smart but not attractive. Latinos are seen as attractive but not smart or successful. Most of them are house maids in the US whereas Indians are the highest earners and ceos. I guess we all sacrifice something to get something.
