    30:33 thank you Elle for saying that it’s cool for new folks to come in but they do rehash and say incorrect points. Been watching the WNBA for a long time and the new folks coming in and being ahistorical and also ignoring the other storylines in the W is frustrating. “This is not specific to Caitlin Clark-you’re just new in this space. So while you’re new…get the lay of the land before you try to fan flames”

      @@sheba19The truth is that nobody cared because the WNBA didn’t have a majority of women who looked like Angel or Brink. You can say anything you want to say and we can argue if it’s right or wrong but once men start finding the women in the WNBA attractive, that’s when they’ll watch.

      @TA-ht4jo it kills me on the internet how people conflate opinions and facts. I was just responding to his "we" statement. Most people do not watch sports based on what men look like. how infantile to base watching a sport on what men think of women's looks. A woman's value is not determined by what men think of them or their looks

    • @TA-ht4jo
      @TA-ht4jo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sheba19 First off, there are plenty of women and I mean plenty of women who watch the NFL and the NBA because they love the way the men look in their tights and shorts. Let's cut the bs.
      We all know these women can play but we don't want to see a bunch of masculine women running around on the court. They have to be attractive and this cuts across all sports: track and field, volleyball, soccer, etc. You can deny it all you want but the facts are the facts.

    Yes she just wants to play BUT you can't tell me that players aren't targeting her. It's up to the officials and the owners to control these excessive and dangerous fouls. We are talking about serious professional ending injuries. That collaring put on the floor foul against Angel was brutal and unnecessary.

    • @unclepete803
      @unclepete803 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are supposed to target rookies, especially if they are highly touted. That's what established vets do. That's part of any sport. The vets want to see if the hype is for real. Nothing new. I got targeted as a high school freshman on the varsity basketball team. Upperclassmen would lick their chops when I guarded them in practice, Give me the business. Same thing happened as a college freshman on the football team. I had to earn their respect. It comes with time and maturity. Now, I do agree with you about the excessive and dangerous fouls, but the rookies being targeted is to be expected.

    If Caitlin coming into the league was hush, hush by the veterans, then nobody would be saying anything about the vets in a negative way. But, everybody has to be honest, even Elle, that it was the vets that started the fight. Now, they realize that they are in over their head, now it's "I'm Black, I'm Brown and that's why they don't choose me." See below a comment that I pasted on another video about Aja Wilson coming at Caitlin, wrongly.
    "Aja Wilson better be cool! She is now on Team Nike. She joins the ranks of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and (drum roll) Caitlin Clark. Nike is putting millions of dollars out there to advertise and promote its products. Nike's owners, the shareholders, expect profits from its investments. All Nike-related athletes, whether in basketball, football, soccer, tennis, golf, etc., are to promote Nike's bottom line. All Nike-related players are NIke multimillon dollar investments. Imagine how the Nike shareholders will feel about Aja Wilson if Aja continues to tarnish one of their newest investments (Caitlin Clark) - a multiMillion dollar investment to predominantly sell shoe products to not only national but to international girls around the globe. That's a vast market left untapped even by the likes of Michael Jordan and LeBron James. How long will the shareholders allow Aja to keep her less anticipated profit generating Nike shoe deal? My guess is that it will not be for long, that being, not likely to renew Aja's shoe deal when the contract is up. And, seeing that kind of behavior when with Nike - a lack of loyalty to the brand, what other brands are likely to pick her up in the future?
    Nobody is teaching our people (Black people) how money works in the entertainment business. You make money for YOU until YOU no longer make money for THEM, whereby "THEM" means whoever controls the purse strings.
    Athletes are the least informed about the entertainment BUSINESS. Many think that just because he or she has performed well, even better than another in the field, that he or she is deserving of the GREATEST money rewards. What he or she doesn't understand is that YOU don't get to decide what the PEOPLE WANT regardless of how good YOU or your COHORTS think that YOU are compared to ANOTHER in the field.
    Caitlin PRESENTLY deserves more attention, more accolades, THUS more MONEY than any other WNBA player BECAUSE CAITLIN IS WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT TO SEE, CAITLIN IS WHAT THEY WANT. PERIOD!!!! Unless YOU are buying up all or a substantial amount of the tickets and all or a substantial amount of the merchandise, NOBODY should give a d*mn about what YOU think your performance entitles YOU to. When there is someone else at the time who contributes MORE to those sells, REGARDLESS OF THE REASON, than YOU do, YOUR opinion really only matters to YOU.
    True story, back a few decades ago my youngest brother and I were attending a "Black Expo" event in a major USA city. Although older, but obvously not wiser, I commented to my youngest brother that it made no sense to me that the majority of the Black patrons present were buying their Tee shirts from the Asian kiosk rather than from one of the Black-owned kiosks. My youngest brother turned to me and said, "They Got What They Want." I almost got mad at him until it dawned on me that, d*mn, he was the one making sense, not me.
    The take home message is that in business, it doesn't matter that YOU think YOU deserve more, it matters most which of you GOT WHAT "THEY" WANT. At this moment in time it is CAITLIN CLARK who's GOT WHAT THEY WANT!"

      Absolutely correct. The players in the WNBA many times lose sight of the fact they are entertainment. This is a business with a product to offer. You wanna let your freak flag fly, fine, but you hurt your product. You don't wanna play hard every game, fine, but you hurt your product. You wanna act in a messy way, fine, but you hurt your product.

    Catling Clarke ain't struggling for a rookie in their first season, and she's already posting unbelievable stats. She is in a weak team that is up when she is on the court and then can't score when she isn't.
    This girl has had criticism for being white, hetro, and Christian and from many different directions from the wemon on the View to the free thinkers in the WNBA.
    Why is she so disliked by the others what could it possibly be. Why is it that someone who is only in the league 5 minutes can generate such hate what makes her so different. 🤔

      Agree, she's not struggling. Just want to point out it was one person on the View that had issues with her. Whoopi pretty much countered all the points this one person, I think her name is Sunny, made.

    • @andyforbes5553
      @andyforbes5553 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @benjaminsmith2287
      You are right it was only Sonny from the View, but my point still is why ? Why her? CC isn't the first exciting prospect to turn up, and her ability is clear to see, but she is definitely getting more abuse than any other player.
      Jealousy will drive most men on to get better, but with some females, it takes a very different form. Some ladies compartmentalise their anger and rage, so it will manifest in different ways from men. They will look for alliances and form cliks for protection. It looks like shit like that is happening, and it's far from professional behaviour. Behaviour that flew by last year won't work anymore as the levels of attention on the league are up ten, maybe twenty fold. So best behaviour time.
      Sorry, I got carried away here.

If Barkley & LeBron are noticing and it is so bad that they feel like commenting on it THEN there is a problem. Elle may dismiss it BUT come on people aren't blind Elle! The pettiness is obvious!
