6DOF* :) But thank you very much for your kind words! Doc is a great reviewer and we try to back his reviews up with good editing :) It makes us grin from ear to ear when this our work is appreciated!
I got that game on steam, so I don't need it on the Quest. But I'm rather pleased that a full story-driven game is making its way on to the platform. VR needs more stuff like this. I need more VR games like this. I want classic games, fully features, fully polished, with great gameplay loop and narrative and presentation, but in VR. Hopefully we will see more of those in the coming years.
Considering how well the Quest sold, and how well the Q2 is selling, judging by the huge spikes developers have seen in sales this quarter, we have no doubt more and more full-fleshed titles will be coming :)
This game is faaantastic, it would be my VR game of the year if not for my childhood dream of piloting star wars spacecraft in VR. Your reviews are very articulate, well done.
Great, well-paced review. My quest that I bought myself for chrismas arrives tommorow, so I'll take all the reviews I can get, and yours are definietely one of the best!
Congrats on the Quest, we're sure you're going to love it! Glad our videos are proving useful! You can find a lot more reviews on our site (we try to make video versions of all our reviews, but we don't always manage!) and we also have constantly updated lists of the games that we've scored the highest - always useful for new owners - you'll find that here: 6dofreviews.com/top-ten/best-games-on-quest/
Yeah, if you okay it that way, you’ll get the PCVR version graphics :) But we suggest you buy it from Oculus since it’s cross buy. If you get the rift version (PCVR like Steam), it’ll also get you the stand-alone Quest version.
@@BenalRida but you need to get revive. It is free and if you ever get a steamvr only headset at some point, you'll be able to still play your oculus games.
This dude is the equivalent of David Attenborough for game reviews. Great editing too! Definitely deserves to be up there with the best. (Maybe even the best)
There are very few great games on VR at this moment in time. The graphics still aren't quite there yet either. It's going to be a couple of more years before it gets really good and actually competes with regular gaming. But then... watch out!
There is vr games that rival pc games in terms of graphics. It's just that the quest is a glorified mobile phone. Compared to stuff like the index it's unreal the difference
VR gaming already surpassed flatscreen gaming in many regards. Yeah we dont get the AAA superbling games yet, but who cares about that when we get that much more immersion? All of my top 3 games this year have been VR titles.
Probably the best game on Quest but my experience was ruined by two major issues with the game: The crashing (which may be fixed now) The game would freeze for 20+ minutes while buzzing loudly and you cannot turn the damn thing off. Remember when power buttons were actually power buttons rather than a suggestion? The file size. About 11GB now with the updates. Due to the way Android works you can need an additional 20+ GB free to perform the update. With the 64GB version this means you need to devote 2/3 of your App space for S&S. Particularly annoying since Oculus doesn't let you turn off automatic updates or offer an option for expandable storage.
Odd about the crashing. None of us have experienced that issue. Have you heard of others having the same problem? It might be that your system doesn't have enough free space?
@@6DOFReviews I had enough free space. It happened to me maybe 4 or 5 times throughout the course of the game so infrequent but annoying. I'll probably play it again when I've upgraded my system so I can play PCVR instead, I can't justify reserving that much space to play it on Quest anymore.
Great review! This is my all time favorite game for sure. I have to point out your amazing voice lol I would seriously bet that you could have a very successful future in voice acting.
this is the only VR game that made my memories of playing it feel more like "real" memories (real as in real life) obviously I know it's a game but it still felt as close to real as I've been in VR
2 questions, please. 1. Have they fixed all the earlier bugs, like when people cannot finish a quest because some action does not get updated? 2. Does it crash or lag or whatever on the Original Quest? Cheers, VRers!
Apologies, you seem to have confused us with a 24 hour Oculus tech support channel. It's an easy mistake to make. 1) I did not encounter any such bugs on the latest version of the game. 2) One of our other reviewers encountered some crashes on the original Quest, and two others haven't run into any. Please exercise some patience and restraint when commenting; we aren't a huge commercial enterprise, we're doing our best.
Played and loved this game (steam version) Then brought the Q2 version. Hoping they can manage the free dlc (trial mode) but might be a bit too much, even for the Q2. On par with HLA, and considering it has outstanding melee, in many ways surpasses it. Buy it.
No teleportation yet, although some people are requesting it, so who knows! For now, though you can adjust things like FOV dimming and switch between snap and smooth turning, which might help :)
Where the fuck is house of the dead vr? That and time crisis were almost the first vr games just without the vr. I honestly thought those two games would be the absolute first releases for the vr market.
Where are the characters from the Walkind Dead TV series, I was looking forward to meeting and scavenging with some if the characters. 😁😒. Aside from that, a very good game.
Haven't tried the PSVR version, but judging from other games, the graphics on Quest are probably less detailed but rendered in higher resolution, and, of course, with the Quest, you get to play wireless and untethered. Gameplay and story should be identicial.
This is on a Quest 2, yeah. This game actually does quite well with the Quest, but nothing on Quest can really compare to the graphics you can get from PCVR games, the trade-off is that it’s cheaper, more accessible, and completely stand-alone! However, you can still get the PCVR version of the game and play it on Quest using Oculus Link or Virtual Desktop.
Don't get the hype about this game, character graphics are awful, gameplay not too bad, it's not a full open world game by any means like people say. A decent game but no way is it amazing
This is a fantastic review and I want people who enjoyed it to hit the like button. This channel is a gem and CDOF needs our support!

Idk about quest, but on psvr this game was super comfortable for me. I never felt even the slightest hint of motion sickness.
