Hopefully, I can find the iPhone version of this game somewhere! www.reddit.com/r/SomeOrdinaryGmrs/comments/6urvb8/the_cursed_ds_game_you_never_heard_of_haunted/
I was introduced to this game about two years ago thanks to a blog about obscure games. I loved how unsettling the movement in the gif of the game looked. I might have seen this game mentioned on hardcoregaming101, too.
ik there was a game waaaaaaaay back for the ds that relied on movement sensors of the ds, if you stepped forward you stepped forward in game also a horror game which you needed to hold your ds like a book. Never found it in the store tho. Don't remember the title anymore of it sadly.
Both these games have a really great story, especially the sequel which delves deeper into the lore of the cursed game and the true evil that is behind it. I would recommend you play the sequel through to the end to understand what I mean.
I was so excited when I read this title! I watched an english let's play of this several years back, and I'm really glad I did. It's definitely not a perfect game, but I love how it integrates the use of the TS into gameplay seamlessly and exploits popular features of that time to create a realistic experience. Just a few days ago I was watching some gameplay, and boy, the tension came right back. I'd love to see you play and react to this if you could.
Hands down my #1 favorite game on the DS! Even over Pokemon, which were significantly larger games with more content and whatnot, but there's something special about "The game with no name."
I was really happy when I first heard about this game and heard rumors that there may be a translation. But then, Square ultimately decided to not release it because of "cultural differences," or what ever. I had "Dementium" and "Theresia," and considering how hard those were to come by, I know that "The Nameless Game" would have sold to some degree. I never got to see this game in action. You should do a let's play for the first day or so. I think it would be interesting.
really cool you mentioned hotel dusk with the 4th wall breaking games, one of my fave ds games out there. sadly due to those mechanics its pretty hard to emulate, really cool game however
Holy shit, Mutahar made a video about Nanashi no Geemu? AWESOME! I played this game and its sequel a while back (almost a year ago now) and I enjoyed ever second of it, and I'm glad it's starting to get some exposure. It's a really great game that's sadly underrated.
Y'know I said this before on your first "new" haunted gaming video but I really really like the new style, and the upload rate is fantastic as well, well done Muta
I this kinda reminds me of a game called Hotel 626. It was a browser game you could only acess via the night and it had similar element. overall scared the living shit out of you
God I love Naneshi No Game. When I got my first R4 card it was one of the first games I installed on it because I had heard a lot about it from my friends who also liked this kinda stuff. I actually didn't know the name of the game until way after I heard about it and I was disappointed that half of the game was on it's side because that was hard to control on an emulator. So when I got my R4 card it went STRAIGHT onto the first MicroSD I could find. I had no idea there were DSiWare and Android/iOS titles. That's interesting. I'll have to look into those. Hopefully somehow we get a translation soon.
Mutahar, since you started the 'new, improved' format for Haunted Gaming, I honestly don't feel like it is better. like the last episode, it's just your face 90% of the time. No offense but it was much better to have footage playing with your voice only as narration. Not everything has to be 'twitch-like'. I was never a fan of your growing facecam size since last year, but at least use that while background footage takes up the majority of screenspace. This and the other HG vid felt like a plain VLOG. I really really wanted to see more actual game footage! :)
His face covering the whole screen also makes him seem like a narcissist. Like he wants a ton of people to be looking at his face all the time. Personally it just makes me feel uncomfortable, but that's just me and I don't expect anyone else to feel that way.
This is his new formula?! Fuck.. Here I was waiting for the gameplay, and he just kept talking and talking and I was like: shut the fuck up and do a playthrough. lol
I finished both Nanashi no Geemu games when they still weren't translated. I didn't understand anything but I enjoyed the atmosphere. Now I got both ROMs with English patches and am currently finishing the second one. Really good stuff.
I'm gonna try this game then. Always wanted to experience a creepypasta type game but I can't bear the obnoxious screamers with screeching sounds. Hopefully this will be the best horror game I'll play on the ds :D
youtube autoplay directed me to this video right after I watched "Did This Animal Warp Us To An Alternate Universe?" This is a video from the good old universe.
i think this is the first time i've seen a video on this channel about a game i already knew. seriously though, give nanashi no game a try, it's pretty cool.
by rare you mean the Korg analogue keyboard cart? (not the m1 cart)? In theory there is a way to use 2 ds systems and 2 carts to add channels and effects beyond using 1. The 3DS app had these features and more tho.
I watched Battle Royale before reading the novel and manga and I have to say all 3 are fantastic each with their own flare. The sequel Battle Royale was sadly disappointing but still worth a watch.
I remember seeing the first games cover and being told I needed to play this but I could never remember the game. I will most definitely have to check it out. That just seems damn cool.
I played this game a long time ago and can't remember how I came across it. I did find a perfect English patch though and loved the game. Had no idea there was a sequel and mobile games.
Yo what the actual fvck Ive been looking for this game for years im actually crying cause it freaked me out as a kid but was so interesting I played it for hours till I lost it while moving.
Good old muta. Pacific mall gets raided at least twice a week by now lol. Last time I was there it got raided the day after that. Great place to find good shit tho. Just ways away from sauga tho
Am I one of the only people who remember the original "Rings" as a short film that was released between Ring 1 and 2? Despite Ring 2 being generally bad and not worth a watch, this short film interlude between the 2 is suprisingly good. Check it out

As someone who is learning Japanese, using this amazing game to learn is an absolute win.
I like how Haunted Gaming is out, but I'd like more gameplay just the old Haunted Gaming episodes.

Late reply, but Nanashi no game has been translated, both 1st and 2nd game.
There is a method to turn a normal Pokemon game into a jumpscare creepypasta, that deletes it's self when you die, and turns back too normal.
