Imagine a virus that goes through VM's into your actual computer
As of my knowledge it is possible for some viruses to attack the host system behind the virtual machine.
They exist. If the guest and host machine are on windows nt, operations in kernel mode in the guest os require the host os also perform some sort of operation in kernel mode as well. You could make a harmless kernel mode app on the guest os that destroys the host os. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It’s possible but that requires the virus to be able to get past the VMs operating system’s defenses, take over the VM software and get out somehow from there without being shut down, and then somehow get through his base Linux defenses before it’s able to do damage. A virus that breaks all of windows 10 is hard enough to make and one that can get out of a VM and doesn’t get noticed by the user and stopped is even more difficult. At that point, you have a higher chance probably by sending a scam email with a program attached to it
I don't know if it was this one, Wannacry, or some other ransomware, but I remember hearing how a hospital had all their computers compromised and all their patients' files destroyed in an attack from a virus like this, and that infuriates me. People could have literally died so someone could make a couple hundred bucks.
I would say a joke statement like “money is money” I still will (in some sense, at least here.), but that’s fucking dumb, like, I don’t think the creator directly attacked the hospital but that sucks, having all those patient files gone because of some stupid ransomware.
I believe that was Wannacry? I heard back in 2018 Wannacry was leaked and released by somebody, then it infected a good portion of everybody's electronic devices, feel free to fact-check me, it's been awhile since I last heard about Wannacry
@@TheSizzleDash Yes, one hospital was attacked but so were many others along with universities, governments, and many companies in general like railway companies and a telecom company. It was not a DIRECT attack to a specific computer or person, technically by definition it is indirect. I don't think the person you're replying to said it was a direct attack though, they just remembered hospitals were fucked over as well.
Wannacry costed up to $4 Bil USD and that's not even an exact number of course. So, I think it's a little silly to even joke about how "money is money." Ngl.

For some odd reason these virus videos somewhat scare me, and for an odd reason.
Ever since I was little I've have computers, and when I was young being the little shit I was I would get viruses on my computer all the time, although nothing too bad. The thing is though ever since I was a kid having viruses on my computer always scared me, the computer doing things I didn't want it doing was something horrifying to me. That's only the beginning though, ever since I got my first virus on my computer I started having nightmares about computer viruses, they are weird and scare me to this day still. The dreams always have me just using a computer in some weird context, but the computer will do things I don't want it to do and then end up crashing but instead of a blue screen it will be something that horrifies me. Then after that a murderer will typically kill me (that happens in most of my dreams) then I will wake up really scared.
Still absolutely love these videos though.

It's good that theres stuff that comes with like windows, like the windows security shit thing. Its actually pretty good, it will detect if theres any virus on it and will delete it. I managed to get randsom ware on my PC and it warned me that it was on there and it deleted it automatically

I know that this was for higher up companies but my parents were still attacked with this virus. My father and mother run an inspection service and were trying to hire a new inspector to help my father. My mom opened an email, assuming it was from a new applicant. And then as you know, this virus got a hold of all of our inspection data (the computer was filled with files and documents showcasing addresses, names, and phone numbers of people in our local area). We hadn't saved any of our data on a separate flash drive, and lost all of our work. We were unable to retrieve our documents since and our data goes back as far as 2004.

I had a type of ransomware infecting my pc I mine with my pc so it always on but one day my pc was super slow and I thought it was the end of my pic’s life cycle but I still checked my tasks manager and it had a something running on 100% of my pc and it was Russian letters on it so I opened the file location and went to its properties and revoked its permissions and restarted my pc and when I turned on it was all good to this day I still have the files my pc but it can’t open or run
