Zutara is a cute ship, but uuumm sometimes some zutara fans use wrong reasons which makes some kataang shippers annoyed. Thank you for putting Sokka and Suki in Endgame. I am not one for shipping (especially when you consider the ages it gets kind of weird) but those two work so well together and it gets kind of annoying when seemingly everyone tries to partner Sokka with everyone else.
I agree that Sukka is the best relationship for Sokka I just wanted so bad for him to be with Yue. Go back and rewatch the episodes where they spend time together and kiss. It just works so well. Yue’s sincerity compliments Sokka’s sarcasm perfectly. And whenever they are together you can see the joy on each face and the true sadness when Yue says she can’t see him at all. It just made me so sad when she died and her last action was kissing Sokka. Please go rewatch those episodes and come back.
I love Avatar but I do think that romance is one of its weaker aspects of the show, and to be fair this does pop up a lot in other shows the writers worked on like Korra and Dragon Prince. I just think when they write a romance they just think, "How can we get these two to smooch" without considering the relationship part of the relationship.

@@micah459 Yeah I thought it was really weird for them to get together at the end of the show the kiss at the end was cringe for me, agewise and how it was kinda one sided from aang, and there wasn't any romantic buildup, their relationship for the most part was older sister to little brother. I can definitely see them being endgame after aang's a little older though, their personality and relationship would work really well together.

I think Azula might be asexual. I'm not sure we saw genuine attraction in "The Beach", but rather Azula's desire to be the centre of attention and controlling.

I like the idea of Zutara I think it’s a nice ship but something about Kataang.... it just fits, you know? Their relationship isn’t based off of chemistry it’s based off of their solid ass friendship and I like that. Also, it’s nice to see a taller girl with a shorter guy for once. We truly get to see them develop throughout the show. Aang falling for Katara quickly, Katara starting to reciprocate those feelings in season 2, etc. And the dance scene with them was just, very flameo sir. Plus we got “Baby, you’re my forever girl” gotta love that lmao

I dont have an issue with the age difference between Katara and Aang. Its really just the exact age range they happened to be in during the entire tv series. Aang is 12. Katara is 14. 2 years is really no big deal. The issue is Aang is pretty clearly pre puberty and Katara is post puberty. It just gives it a bit of a creepy vibe seeing the difference in their age appearance. Its why in Ember Island players they made Katara much older and Aang appear prepubescent as a female. If the show had Aang as 15 and Katara as 17. It wouldve felt much more normal feeling. Definitely don't go too far and make Katara 18 and Aang 16. Cause then it gets creepy again. I know 2 years is not a big deal it just feels weirder during certain ages.
You must be from the US where you have this absurd and very arbitrary aoc at 18. In most other sensible places it's a sliding one. Like 14-17, 16-21 until they're 18. So no, Aang being 16 and katara being 18 would not be weird at all just for two years!
Ty Lee is like an extension of all the traits about Aang that Toph tries to beat out of him. I think they would interact similarly to how Toph and Zuko act together at first. With Toph being Zuko and Ty Lee being Toph.
I want to point out a couple things, firstly my main ship (Taang) was put in Friends Only, which I completely get but damn. Like, logic is sound, I just always thought they looked cute together xD Second, Sokka, Aang, Suki, and Katara apparently could all swap with eachother and work and idk how to feel about this xD Thirdly, as a shipper, thank you so much for this video. My money's on Aang and Suki could possibly do a long term relationship, but the idea of Katara taking Bumi and Kya to visit "Uncle Sokka and Aunt Suki" is just too precious (and it keeps them all happy while Aang is training Tenzin). Sokka/Aang and Katara/Suki are best friends for life-goals.
As a Tyzula shipper this hurts a little but I get it. Honestly I think every relationship with Azula would be toxic, because she is a manipulative person but I can totally see Ty Lee being the only person Azula cares about and the only one she opens up to :')
I felt the same way. Like I can't fault anyone for putting tyzula in the bottom tier because as things stand the relationship would be super toxic. At the same time, that breaks my little tyzula heart. Because they could be good for each other. I always picture them together after ty lee spent some time with the kyoshi warriors and learned about her self worth. If Azula ever did a redemption arc thing, I think that ty lee is kind of the only person who would believe in her. Azula doesn't deserve ty lee after all she's done, but I think they still care for each other. I don't know tho. Sorry for the rambling comment.
There is a theory that Azula and Ty lee were originally going to be a couple since Azula was supposed to be a guy before they changed it. Imagine their kids!
yeah, i feel like it'd only work after a reedemption arc for Azula, maybe even until they grow completely into adulthood and mature more as people tbh specially knowing that Ty Lee actually seems to be one of the very few people Azula actually cares for, it would be one of the most possible relationships that could work in terms of Azula's character (tho from Ty Lee's perspective I think Mei would be her best option in general)
Sukka is arguably the best canon ship and for me Zutara is the best non-canon ship. Like, they'd be a great endgame if the show went that way. P.S. Just because I love Zutara doesn't mean I hate Kataang :)

i ship katara and aang but I don't really see anything between them in atla, it just feels forced and rushed. Its kinda like a high schooler with a middle schooler. But zuko and katara on the other hand makes more sense after the series, a bit more chemistry and agewise better. . But for endgame katara and aang definitely when aang grows a little older.

Both ATLA and LOK didn’t do relationships well and I would have liked their relationship to develop more but they did drop many hints that they would be together. The opening scene, Katara’s prophecy, the dancing in the cave, Katara threatening Zuko if he tries to hurt Aang, and the final scene too. It wasn’t perfect nor was it the smoothest relationship but I enjoyed the development none the less

You voiced my thoughts on Kataang and Zutara so well! I think that at the end of ATLA, no one should have ended up together and everyone should have gone their separate paths. I understand that Kataang was integral to the story (even though I have problems with how their romance was written) and the final kiss was written in as a parallel to their first meeting. I do believe that if anything were to be endgame, it should’ve been them, but several years down the line when they are older and ready to be in a committed, endgame relationship. I think that Zuko and Katara should have gone out, exploring their chemistry, until they eventually realize that they work better as friends, where they have an amazing friendship rooted in support and happiness. I’d like to say that Zuko and Sokka have something periodically in their adult years, but never to the point of marriage because neither Sokka nor Katara would willingly want to marry into the Imperial Fire Nation, in my opinion (which could be one of the causes of their eventual split). I want Zuko to be happy, but I don’t think there’s any character in the canonverse that I see him settling down with. So someone needs to introduce an amazing love interest for Zuko that can be his endgame. I love how respectful you are of all ships! It’s something very scarce we see in the ATLA community nowadays, sadly.
I honestly think if we saw more of Jin and Zukos relationship, it could have been endgame (or at least longterm) and yet, we never get to see Jin again T-T

But I personally don’t see it lasting. Jin fell for Lee from the tea shop, not Fire Lord Zuko. And while I’m certain she’d want to give the whole dating the Fire Lord thing a chance to be with Zuko, it isn’t fair to Jin, a simple Earth Kingdom girl, to have to deal with all of the problems that comes with the Fire Nation throne after the end of a 100 year war. Not to mention that it puts Zuko in a horrible position if someone were to ever come after a defenceless Jin. While Jinko is very cute, there are sadly many problems to it lasting.

So, naturally an Azulaang plot would be set up in the future after she's dealt with her demons. Who knows, Aang would be a great influence to help her calm down.
Can I take a moment to preach about Taang real quick? Like hear me out, I know they're not an obvious match but if they did decide to pursue one another, I think their dynamic would've been unstoppable. On a fundamental basis, they complete each other. Throughout the entire series, Aang's pacifist mentality is constantly challenged which he unfortunately struggles to defend due to his liberal upbringing. Toph, however, has no difficulty with confrontation but because of her restricted childhood desires freedom more than anything. Essentially, they embody each other's aspirations. Had they become partners, I really think they would've been a positive influence on each other in addition to actually attaining this internal desire. Toph would keep Aang grounded in his beliefs and not enable his natural abadoning tendencies towards responsibility. Aang's nomadic lifestyle would allow Toph her freedom and potentially prevent her defensiveness from being as intense. Maybe even encourage her compassionate side to shine so that she wouldn't be as lonesome as she is in LOK. Then you have the swamp symbolism and the Kuruk and Ummi reincarnation theory but even without it, the groundwork for their relationship could have easily been transitioned into a partnership (or at the very least, one date status). At the end of the day, I understand why it didn't happen but I also think this dynamic doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Everyone seems so respectful that I figured it why not take the opportunity to express it! Thank you for listening to my Taang Ted Talk. Happy shipping everyone ;)

I usually ship characters based on their interactions and not the opposite attract dynamic because like you said, sometimes I do think there is a lot of unnecessary conflict. While these two were orginally at odds, throughout the show we've seen them work extremely well together combatively and also become dear friends. It may not have worked long term but I would've loved to see what direction it could've gone in had they tried it

Okay hear me out! Aang and Katara break up because they’re teenagers. Katara starts dating Zuko in her 20’s for a while but the relationship doesn’t last. Katara goes back to Aang because she sees how much he has grown and matured. They get married, have kids and everything. Zuko and Katara rekindle their relationship from decades ago during the events of the legend of Korra and decide to enjoy their remaining years together just having fun. THE END
Personally i think may/mai and Zuko were one of the best couples even though the story never really developed them enough as a couple. I think her impassiveness and detached nature is a good counterbalance for zuko's extreme passion and rage. She could act as a calming presence for him and he could make her actually feel and show her emotions. And the fact that she's liked him since childhood gives it a very 'first love' type of vibe, which is cute. Zutara i also like because i think their relationship could have been a symbol of forgiveness, hope, unity of opposite/opposing clans and character development. The way they related to each other was unexpected but made sense. But i do think they are both very hot-headed and emotional sometimes, so personality wise they might not have lasted long.

In defense of Maiko: Both of them basically grew up around each other and were present for and partook in good parts of the others childhood, even resulting in a possibly mutual crush. However, both of them underwent trauma, and both of them cope differently: Mai putting up a front of being apathetic and indifferent, and Zuko with his of anger. Both of them have been invalidated by those close to them and can have difficulty expressing affection, but perhaps it's chemistry or attachment or simply love that results in the two of them being able to be fully comfortable and affectionate with the other, whatever that looks like for them. Mai is only able to really open to Zuko and for her he makes sacrifices even if it means putting himself aside. Nonetheless, it's safe to presume that Mai does indeed challenge Zuko, for she is not the "blindly loving girlfriend type", and she has his back while she's at it- she is truly his ride or die (see Boiling Rock). I see them as endgame; for even though to others it may seem bland (at first sight it was to me too) but when you look into it, you'll realize it doesn't have to be an "opposites attract" type beat in order for a relationship to be endgame.
I think it says a lot that the ONLY long term relationship for zuko on the list was actually with Katara. And honestly I think zutara has a solid enough foundation to be endgame, not without its complications though for sure, but definitely the type of endgame you grow a lot from and work for. The type of love that is built on years of respect, that goes so deeps, the stuff of legend.

Also He basically left Katara to care for the family as he only did things with Tenzin. Katara was too mature for Aang. That’s why Zutara should’ve been endgame
@@jeremysilber7484 Uuum first of all if you are thinking that Katara is too mature she is not, in the first 2 seasons Aang was acting childish at sometimes, but on the third season Aang became more mature. The age gap doesn't matter since they are only 2 years apart. Aang also did understand what Katara felt, remember when the sandbenders stole Appa? Aang didn't forgive them, Katara just calmed him down so Aang would not hurt them. Aang as a fathwr have so many duties because he is the avatar, even if Zuko became Katara's wife, it would still be the same since the firelord also has duties

Maybe it’s just because the show had aang too young for a relationship but I never liked kataang and I think that a big reason I see Zutara is because they are at an age where it makes sense and then the chemistry is just really amazing and I think that they would be great together.
I'd say Sokka and Azula(Azokka?). Is short-term(in between fling and long term) if Azula was to have redemption later in life. As she'd benefit from Sokka with how to be humbled/humble yourself, gain understanding and grow from it. Suzuki(Zuko and Suki) would be long term or end game because she seems like a just as considerate but less over involved version of Katara. In accordance with this I'd say endgame is Sokka and Yue; explaining why his lineage wasn't shown; plenty of speculation. Seemingly he couldn't be tied down. Never truly got over Yue(hints being the mirage from _The_ _Swamp_ , while under the influence in _The_ _Desert_ he was talking about her and how he became emotional in Ember Island Players.)

Thank you for putting Sokka and Suki in Endgame. I am not one for shipping (especially when you consider the ages it gets kind of weird) but those two work so well together and it gets kind of annoying when seemingly everyone tries to partner Sokka with everyone else.

I agree that Sukka is the best relationship for Sokka I just wanted so bad for him to be with Yue. Go back and rewatch the episodes where they spend time together and kiss. It just works so well. Yue’s sincerity compliments Sokka’s sarcasm perfectly. And whenever they are together you can see the joy on each face and the true sadness when Yue says she can’t see him at all. It just made me so sad when she died and her last action was kissing Sokka. Please go rewatch those episodes and come back.

I love Avatar but I do think that romance is one of its weaker aspects of the show, and to be fair this does pop up a lot in other shows the writers worked on like Korra and Dragon Prince.
I just think when they write a romance they just think, "How can we get these two to smooch" without considering the relationship part of the relationship.

@@micah459 Yeah I thought it was really weird for them to get together at the end of the show the kiss at the end was cringe for me, agewise and how it was kinda one sided from aang, and there wasn't any romantic buildup, their relationship for the most part was older sister to little brother. I can definitely see them being endgame after aang's a little older though, their personality and relationship would work really well together.

I like the idea of Zutara I think it’s a nice ship but something about Kataang.... it just fits, you know? Their relationship isn’t based off of chemistry it’s based off of their solid ass friendship and I like that. Also, it’s nice to see a taller girl with a shorter guy for once. We truly get to see them develop throughout the show. Aang falling for Katara quickly, Katara starting to reciprocate those feelings in season 2, etc. And the dance scene with them was just, very flameo sir. I dont have an issue with the age difference between Katara and Aang. Its really just the exact age range they happened to be in during the entire tv series. Aang is 12. Katara is 14. 2 years is really no big deal. The issue is Aang is pretty clearly pre puberty and Katara is post puberty. It just gives it a bit of a creepy vibe seeing the difference in their age appearance. Its why in Ember Island players they made Katara much older and Aang appear prepubescent as a female. If the show had Aang as 15 and Katara as 17. It wouldve felt much more normal feeling. Definitely don't go too far and make Katara 18 and Aang 16. Cause then it gets creepy again. I know 2 years is not a big deal it just feels weirder during certain ages.

I felt the same way. Like I can't fault anyone for putting tyzula in the bottom tier because as things stand the relationship would be super toxic. At the same time, that breaks my little tyzula heart. Because they could be good for each other. I always picture them together after ty lee spent some time with the kyoshi warriors and learned about her self worth. If Azula ever did a redemption arc thing, I think that ty lee is kind of the only person who would believe in her. Azula doesn't deserve ty lee after all she's done, but I think they still care for each other. I don't know tho. Sorry for the rambling comment.

i ship katara and aang but I don't really see anything between them in atla, it just feels forced and rushed. Its kinda like a high schooler with a middle schooler. Both ATLA and LOK didn’t do relationships well and I would have liked their relationship to develop more but they did drop many hints that they would be together. The opening scene, Katara’s prophecy, the dancing in the cave, Katara threatening Zuko if he tries to hurt Aang, and the final scene too. It wasn’t perfect nor was it the smoothest relationship but I enjoyed the development none the less

You voiced my thoughts on Kataang and Zutara so well! I think that at the end of ATLA, no one should have ended up together and everyone should have gone their separate paths. I understand that Kataang was integral to the story (even though I have problems with how their romance was written) and the final kiss was written in as a parallel to their first meeting. I do believe that if anything were to be endgame, it should’ve been them, but several years down the line when they are older and ready to be in a committed, endgame relationship. I think that Zuko and Katara should have gone out, exploring their chemistry, until they eventually realize that they work better as friends, where they have an amazing friendship rooted in support and happiness. I’d like to say that Zuko and Sokka have something periodically in their adult years, but never to the point of marriage because neither Sokka nor Katara would willingly want to marry into the Imperial Fire Nation, in my opinion (which could be one of the causes of their eventual split). I want Zuko to be happy, but I don’t think there’s any character in the canonverse that I see him settling down with. So someone needs to introduce an amazing love interest for Zuko that can be his endgame. I love how respectful you are of all ships! It’s something very scarce we see in the ATLA community nowadays, sadly.

But I personally don’t see it lasting. Jin fell for Lee from the tea shop, not Fire Lord Zuko. And while I’m certain she’d want to give the whole dating the Fire Lord thing a chance to be with Zuko, it isn’t fair to Jin, a simple Earth Kingdom girl, to have to deal with all of the problems that comes with the Fire Nation throne after the end of a 100 year war. Not to mention that it puts Zuko in a horrible position if someone were to ever come after a defenceless Jin. While Jinko is very cute, there are sadly many problems to it lasting.

Can I take a moment to preach about Taang real quick? Like hear me out, I know they're not an obvious match but if they did decide to pursue one another, I think their dynamic would've been unstoppable.
On a fundamental basis, they complete each other. Throughout the entire series, Aang's pacifist mentality is constantly challenged which he unfortunately struggles to defend due to his liberal upbringing. Toph, however, has no difficulty with confrontation but because of her restricted childhood desires freedom more than anything. Essentially, they embody each other's aspirations.
Had they become partners, I really think they would've been a positive influence on each other in addition to actually attaining this internal desire. Toph would keep Aang grounded in his beliefs and not enable his natural abadoning tendencies towards responsibility. Aang's nomadic lifestyle would allow Toph her freedom and potentially prevent her defensiveness from being as intense. Maybe even encourage her compassionate side to shine so that she wouldn't be as lonesome as she is in LOK.
Then you have the swamp symbolism and the Kuruk and Ummi reincarnation theory but even without it, the groundwork for their relationship could have easily been transitioned into a partnership (or at the very least, one date status).
At the end of the day, I understand why it didn't happen but I also think this

I usually ship characters based on their interactions and not the opposite attract dynamic because like you said, sometimes I do think there is a lot of unnecessary conflict. While these two were orginally at odds, throughout the show we've seen them work extremely well together combatively and also become dear friends. It may not have worked long term but I would've loved to see what direction it could've gone in had they tried it

Personally i think may/mai and Zuko were one of the best couples even though the story never really developed them enough as a couple. I think her impassiveness and detached nature is a good counterbalance for zuko's extreme passion and rage. She could act as a calming presence for him and he could make her actually feel and show her emotions. And the fact that she's liked him since childhood gives it a very 'first love' type of vibe, which is cute. Zutara i also like because i think their relationship could have been a symbol of forgiveness, hope, unity of opposite/opposing clans and character development. The way they related to each other was unexpected but made sense. But i do think they are both very hot-headed and emotional sometimes, so personality wise they might not have lasted long.
Zuko and Jin could've been endgame if they met again at the end. Change my mind lol.

In defense of Maiko: Both of them basically grew up around each other and were present for and partook in good parts of the others childhood, even resulting in a possibly mutual crush. However, both of them underwent trauma, and both of them cope differently: Mai putting up a front of being apathetic and indifferent, and Zuko with his of anger. Both of them have been invalidated by those close to them and can have difficulty expressing affection, but perhaps it's chemistry or attachment or simply love that results in the two of them being able to be fully comfortable and affectionate with the other, whatever that looks like for them. Mai is only able to really open to Zuko and for her he makes sacrifices even if it means putting himself aside. Nonetheless, it's safe to presume that Mai does indeed challenge Zuko, for she is not the "blindly loving girlfriend type", and she has his back while she's at it- she is truly his ride or die (see Boiling Rock). I see them as endgame; for even though to others it may seem bland (at first sight it was to me too) but when you look into it, you'll realize it doesn't have to be an "opposites attract" type beat in order for a relationship to be endgame.
I think it says a lot that the ONLY long term relationship for zuko on the list was actually with Katara. And honestly I think zutara has a solid enough foundation to be endgame, not without its complications though for sure, but definitely the type of endgame you grow a lot from and work for. The type of love that is built on years of respect, that goes so deeps, the stuff of legend.

I think they should’ve been endgame and Katara and Aang should’ve been long term. I think this because Aang doesn’t understand Katara’s values as a person. Zuko does, and also he has similar values and they both are agreeable for one another

@@desolation1322 Katara is more complicated than Aang thinks. He basically viewed her like how a typical 12 year old views a crush. He really didn’t understand that what Yon Rha did was unforgivable. Zuko knew what he did was unforgivable and knew she wanted revenge. If I were Katara I would’ve slain Yon Rha right where he stood. Also He basically left Katara to care for the family as he only did things with Tenzin. Katara was too mature for Aang. That’s why Zutara should’ve been endgame
@@jeremysilber7484 Uuum first of all if you are thinking that Katara is too mature she is not, in the first 2 seasons Aang was acting childish at sometimes, but on the third season Aang became more mature.
The age gap doesn't matter since they are only 2 years apart.
Aang also did understand what Katara felt, remember when the sandbenders stole Appa? Aang didn't forgive them, Katara just calmed him down so Aang would not hurt them.
Aang as a fathwr have so many duties because he is the avatar, even if Zuko became Katara's wife, it would still be the same since the firelord also has duties

Maybe it’s just because the show had aang too young for a relationship but I never liked kataang and I think that a big reason I see Zutara is because they are at an age where it makes sense and then the chemistry is just really amazing and I think that they would be great together.
Katara and Azula are completely at odds in terms of their philosophies. As for the video as a whole, I honestly thought you were spot on.
I'd say Sokka and Azula(Azokka?). Is short-term(in between fling and long term) if Azula was to have redemption later in life. As she'd benefit from Sokka with how to be humbled/humble yourself, gain understanding and grow from it. Suzuki(Zuko and Suki) would be long term or end game because she seems like a just as considerate but less over involved version of Katara. In accordance with this I'd say endgame is Sokka and Yue; explaining why his lineage wasn't shown; plenty of speculation. Seemingly he couldn't be tied down. Never truly got over Yue(hints being the mirage from _The_ _Swamp_ , while under the influence in _The_ _Desert_ he was talking about her and how he became emotional in Ember Island Players.)
The sokka/Suki/Zuko thing makes a lot more sense if it's Suki and sokka sharing Zuko not sokka and Zuko sharing Suki
