So it is performing best at this point of time.

So the real difference will be visible in next year

Been using 2 M1 Air's for 2+ years now, One for personal, one for professional use. They are just amazing beasts.

@@omkaaaar Never faced a lag. The machines are butter smooth with just 8gb ram and 256gb storage. One thing I've noticed is that now when the battery drops below 20% the frames while watching a video start lagging. Like you can make out a difference. But apart from that, my best purchases till date.

I am using M1 air base model 2y+ for programming. It's still a beast but if you're planning to buy the M1 Air for medium or heavy work, go with 16GB RAM because sometimes 8GB isn't enough but it'll get the job done.
Bhai 16gb , nahi mil RHA online, is it good to go with 8gb ,android development ke liye consider kar RHA tha..
Intensive use can be challenging for 8GB of RAM, but the Mac M1 handles it so effectively that you won't even notice any difference in performance. In contrast, a Windows laptop with the same RAM would struggle a lot under similar conditions.

The thing you should mention must in a video should be ..how many years of software upgrade will one of those recieve ? If macbook air m1 is getting only 2-3 years more as compared to m2 which will be getting 4-5 years then i think m2 makes more sense.

Definitely, M1 is a beast. No PC in the current price range will ever match up to the performance of the M1 air or M1 pro but the most important thing to keep in mind while buying apple products is how long it'll get software updates. The M1 was released in 2020 and it's probably going to get only another year of software updates ( till 2025 end ) and then it'll be obsolete. Plus you must also consider the fact that the M3 chipset will also get launched soon this year making the M1 ancient history even though it's still a monster chipset. While it is absolutely value for money currently, I think you'd be better off buying the M2 chipset. M2 was released in 2022 so you can be rest assured to get major software updates for at least 5 years ( till 2027 end ) and considering on your usage, you will get your money's worth out of the macbook. Like for example myself, I'm currently going to be upgrading from amd ryzen 5 chipset directly to the Macbook air M2 ( 2023-15.3 inch ) and I am a very heavy user when it comes to laptops. I'm on my laptop studying, working, coding & trading almost 13-14 hours a day and I needed a very high performance laptop with no worries about it not getting major software updates. So even with the release of the M3 chipset, I will comfortably be using my 2023 macbook air M2 for the next 5-6 years ( till it goes obsolete ) and considering my usage will only grow in the next few years, I will get my money's worth out of it.

@TechBar, I want to replace my aging intel based MBA 2017 and have shortlisted MBA M2 13 or 15 inch. My use will be official work basic task like web browsing, emails, facebook/zoom meeting, you tube watching, MS office (word, excel, powerpoint), pdf file creation and normal file transfer thru emails etc. I wont need it for coding or photo editing etc but just for normal basic use mentioned above. My question is whether the base model 8/256 GB is enough for me or do I need to upgrade RAM or SSD for MBA M2 due to slow SSD issue. Will appreciate your feedback.

I own both and still both holds their value. M2 you’ll expect it to run great and it obviously does while M1 OMG it doesn’t looks like it’s now almost a 4 year old machine

I honestly was thinking about getting M1 chip since I had i5 8th gen MacBook Air but got M2 one. Let me be very honest I compared M1 and M2 side by side the only difference was the magsafe and 1080p camera that's it. Internally it wasn't that much of a difference so I bought the M2 one. But kudos to apple even though M1 released 4 years ago it's performance is next to insane.
I think display is also a big improvement. I recently bought m1 MacBook Air for 750$ and my friend got the 15" m2 Mac air for 1100$. I compared the both display is lot better in M2 Mac air especially in 15" variant.
@@akhilkotha3567 bro we live in India the prices over here are bizzare. For us there is a huge price difference between two of them the price of base MacBook M1 costs above 1000$ and MacBook M2 costs around 1300$🥲

@@gamingbenchmarks7082 Yes couldn't agree more on that but if somebody is on super tight budget then I think M1 is not a bad choice. Especially in India students are mostly on a severe tight budget. Therefore, they can't even go a thousand or two above their given budget.

iam always been the biggest apple hater for the reason that it ditches personal addons by the consumer but after owning the air m1 i started loving the laptop its really much more stable and offers more programmer friendly environment like applescript automator and xcode

Hi, I am based in India and planning to replace my 5 year old intel MBA with either MBA M1 or MBA M2 base model. But unable to decide which one to opt? My usage will be for browsing, you tube, zoom meeting, word/excel, file transferring etc and not for any heavy task. Which one do you suggest? I ve read that MBA M2 has heating issue with slow SSD etc. Will appreciate your input.

EU lawsuit and much more . No privacy and security whatever antivirus you user OS itself is a spyware so doesn't matter. Apple do take telemetry no crappy recall feature no weird ads on star it do advertise apple products you can turn off and it don't come again unlike Microsoft Every update new adds on your start button the disabled option gets enabled everytime.
How secure is windows Last year a Chinese Hacker showcase his skill of cracking a hardened windows kernel in 27 second using ssh flaw in windows power shell they do fixed that or maybe no who can believe Microsoft windows 11 ueers are leaving and moving to windows 10 .
7% decrease in windows 11 user base which was 34% of windows users like . Windows 10 still more than 50% and above.
I am a power user i compile kernels and write basic drivers for hardware application.
My data is very essential I love my privacy. I don't use Mac as daily driver but at current scenario and events going i can't trust Microsoft for a nominal consumer yeah Mac is good it do has it's problem like usb melting, glitches update, screen burnout well that's 2 yrs old i think they fixed it.
SSD failures on older macs well but yet you always least problematic option so yeah.
I am a tech nerd a hardcore Linux user i also use BSD Unix but not a crazy eho will push that on normal user you have time to learn learn the Linux world learn opensource save your data and privacy be secure anyways my personal experience.

still using my macbook air m1 for my daily computer science studies and also learning to develop flutter applications using the inbuilt ios simulator, till the last update there was a warmth in the bottom panel, but after the last update thing are as cool as ice. no problem at all. For the record I'm using the base varient.

@@Harsh-sq7ln the thing is that as I improve in the development and using multiple heavy applications it can warmup a bit because of the 8gb ram not because of the processor it's all because of the ram. I would suggest buying 16 gb ram. I've heard that the ram can be increased and it is done in some shops I'll probably looking forward to update it.

You get a tattoo free with macbook which 1lac worth windows laptop doesn't provide. Along with that, you get different color keys plus you get one more extra pixel on the screen.....on top of it you won't be able to do very high graphics intensive tasks but that's not a big issue 😅

@techbar mere macbook air m1 mein recently ek problem hua hai..... Mera 1 saal se zyada ho gaya hai device.... Pehle kabhi aisa nahi hua hai.... Mai apne macbook ko kabhi shutodown nahi karta... Bass lid down karke rakh deta tha... Lekin recently woh lid open karne se keyboard aur trackpad kaam nahi kar raha.... Phir restart karne par kam karta hai.... Lekin wapas agar lid down karke rakh diya toh wahi same issue wapas.... Pls koi solution bata do ki yeh kyun ho raha hai.... 🥺🥺
8gb ram is what pulls me back...for 16gb we have to pay a lot more. In 2024, 16gb will be the norm, as now even for phones 8gb has become so.
