I've enjoyed her 1st album for a long time especially when it first came out I played it in the car on long car rides, from Boston to home.... ...the kind of song you can sing every song to as a guy because she has a bit of a deeper voice she really does knock the socks out of some of these you should check out more of the entire album this great
My partner at the time bought the fast car albumn for the car. Once I heard it it was mine.
I owned it 3 times because I either wore it out or lost it. The only other album that I have owned three times is Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell. It's funny because my wife doesn't like either one too much...I think she just got tired of hearing it over and over at home and on many road trips.
She's an incredible talent! Amazing voice, this song is well written and the female band is incredible too!

I've always liked Traci, in fact I was looking at pics of her online about a week ago because I'd read that she'd lost a court case against Nicki Minaj. Love her voice, her smile, her hair. Really ticked me off when she was really big because these guys I worked with were always denigrating her music. I think a lot of her lyrics have great emotional impact and everything doesn't have to be complicated. Hell, how many 3 chord songs does Bob Dylan have and I'm a huge Dylan fan of his, plus Tracy can without a doubt sing better than Dylan.

Even at 58 she's _still_ a stunningly beautiful woman. And _still_ has that _smooooth_ voice like silk! Such a beautiful soul inside and out, and so criminally under-rated it's honestly a joke. My local store has music playlists that get regularly switched out, but the person making them is obviously a Tracy Chapman fan (and who can blame them?) cos this song - and others like Fast Car - _always_ make it onto the new list ... so I get to hear her silky smooth tones every time I go shopping. And I will never complain about that. Love this woman!
