I have a yellow carp....I guess it is so called koi... It is sitting at the bottom of the tank...seemed inactive...but eats food... Any suggestions or help
This particular koi of mine starts sitting at the bottom when the temperatures go down to 12-13C. He's the only one that does this. I'm waiting for him to do again this winter. I don't know he just likes sleep in or something is bothering him. I know they tend to all sit at the bottom at around 8C. How I would love to see a video of your yellow carp.
@@thechannelofrandomness7670 I'm not an expert on any fish treatments by any stretch of imagination. But I am pretty good at water quality. I guess it's an inverse relationship. That said, there is there a very good water test kit you can buy. It is called API water test kit. You can get that and in the leaflet instructions there are some good suggestions in correcting any water quality issues. Koi heal and fight disease very well in my experience when the water quality is good. Koi are also very sociable creatures that would like company of other koi that 'speak the same language.' But water quality takes priority. If you have any numbers for your water quality I'd be happy to know.
Pond temperature is cold at 12C. At this temperature they will swim very slow and some will just want to sleep at the bottom. They only get excited when they think they are going to be fed. @@KoiRun50 perfect as soon as the weather picled up he was fine i cant see them now because the water is green so i hope its not to cold for them but they put on Lot of size through the summer months so fingers crossed

tommy riordan For sure. Small ponds and brutal weathers and temperate swings don't mix. This guy has been more active the last couple of years. Gotten a bit bigger too and better shape.

My koi is lyon on his side in the bottom but swims away very fast wen i walk near what do u think it is its cold here now minus

My koi are still doin it dont seem to do it in the hotter temps but its get cold now and then none have died or anything
