I had go home and die cancer. I lucked out and survived. I have learned to time manage the secret of life. Minimalism or complexity is not binary, 100% or zero. I took a trip around the world and climbed the pyramids. I also have an off the grid cabin, water access, solar power, for minimalism. I also have a home in Florida (retired) to enjoy winter weather. There can be complex hours, minimalist hours, all types of different hours, not just one way but many ways. Enjoy all the bountiful options.

Over the last month i made some small changes in my life; for example 20 min of yoga everday, intermittent fasting every other day, meditation for about 5 min. Daily.... i feel so much better. I really admire your work and you as a person. I thought for the longest time i cannot be spiritual, but now i know that everything is connected, body, soul and mind. Kisses from italy

The Atomic Habits guy says make the habit easy and you really helped because doing something important for 5 minutes is a lot easier than doing it for an hour. Funny thing is that sometimes, natural desire extends the time automatically.

Love this. However I couldn't meditate to save my life. I constantly have random thoughts pop in and I write them down if it requires further action on my part. Best I can do is read quietly for an hour before I go to sleep. And when I say "read" - it is with a physical book where I can turn the pages. I hate kindles, nooks, any computer or phone for reading. It's hard on my aging eyes and I am just old fashioned, I want peace and quiet for a bit before bedtime. My daily calendar is full and I have to carve out time just to be free to let my mind wander. Luckily we are going into spring and we will change the clocks (hopefully for the last time), and I can spend more time outdoors with the pets. And dig in the dirt and grow a few things that will survive the summer when it's a burning inferno outside! Everyone needs to do this to some extent, we would have a much nicer world with more compassion.

Hi Naomie, Thank you so much for sharing the things you do to enjoy life. I'm like you, I am a bit old fashioned and love the feel of a paper book. If people slowed down, read books, enjoyed nature, I also feel our world would be a more compassionate place.
Thank you for being part of our mindful community.

I try to avoid electrical lighting when possible. Skip the electronics, those bright screens, just turn the lights out in the evening sit in the dark put some music on. Let your brain unwind - best sleeping pill ever.
Like all pollution, we don’t appreciate how harmful light pollution really is. It’s not talked about sadly. We forget how beneficial periods of darkness really are. A nice oil lamp is one way of giving you some light in a way that doesn’t negatively affect your circadian rhythm..

Where are you at meditating? Is this your own property? I so wish I had a spot like that to go to. I do have a creek to go to but nothing compared to that. It’s simply wonderful. I do go off by myself more often now that I am retired. I can ride my 4 wheeler back in the timber or walk back to it. I know not everyone is so fortunate to have a naturalistic spot. We don’t own it but have permission to enjoy it. 🙏🏻

This video was helpful. I’m not a morning person either. I’ve tried ways to get myself up earlier but didn’t work. I end up sleeping my mornings away and then don’t have time to do much of anything else and plus it shortens my day. I get so frustrated! I’ll try the 5 min getting up early plan that worked for you. What time do you usually go to bed and get up in the morning’s? Cause I tend to get to bed late also. Thanks Connie!

I can relate. I think it is important we get enough hours of sleep per night though. I find when I focus and aim for an earlier bedtime then the earlier morning rise is easier. Work out how many hours of sleep per night you usually need to wake up refreshed and adjust your bedtime accordingly.
